Yahoo Injured Reserve (1 Viewer)

Anyone know how Yahoo injured reserve works? Are only players on real-life IR eligible to be placed on it. Or can doubtful/questionable guys go on Yahoo IR as well?

Here's what it says on the site...

I just want clarification from anyone who may know better. Does "IL" refer to guys on the weekly injury report?

Custom Leagues can allow managers to keep IR players for keeper-league purposes by selecting one or more IR positions.

Across all fantasy games, Yahoo! requires a player to be on the real-life DL, IR, IL, etc. in order to qualify for a position there in the fantasy game.

Note: In professional football, if a player is placed on injured reserve, he is deactivated for the season and is not eligible to return. As a result, that player has no fantasy value for the current season.

From my experience on this is that only players on that are on a teams IR can be put onto a fantasy squads IR spot. Guys who are questionable or doubtful are not eligible to be put on IR.

Correct. The Yahoo IR spot is really only useful for keeper/dynasty since they can only be on that spot if they are on the teams IR (out for season).

I have never seen "IL" used as a player designation in Yahoo FF. It is not even listed in the Legend section of the player section. Perhaps these Help pages are "cross sport" and that designation relates to something other than football?

Yahoo IR isn't very good. I drafted Lattimore in one dynasty league thinking that he'd be on IR for the year and I could have another roster spot. Unfortunately because of his designation in Yahoo, I'll have to carry him on my active roster. In my NFL.com league I drafted Harvin and stashed him in my IR spot in case he becomes available at the end of this year. If not he'll be available for a keeper next year. I like how NFL.com does it a lot better.
