Yahoo is FUBAR (1 Viewer)

No one could get logged in for our draft last night. All teams were autodrafted. Our commish cleared the rosters today and we are having our draft on Thursday. Was very frustrating last night

Not to mention their ranking and projections are not the best.
The couple of leagues I'm in where we draft live at Yahoo, I'm praying the other owners will be using their projections.
Except you know... Scott Pianowski, Brandon Funston and Andy Behrens are all Top 10 guys in FantasyPros 4 year averages.

So how bad are they really?
Except, you know... I'm better.

But, BURN, I guess.

We solved one of ours by stopping the draft at the end of the 1st round when we saw the jumbled draft order, somebody made a league on ESPN, sent out invites, we all moved to the ESPN league, and did our draft there. Commish is supposed to enter all of the rosters into our Yahoo league, overriding the crap that we ended up with, tonight.

In the other one 11 of the 12 of us were able to remain in the draft room and finish the draft. Yahoo had the first 2.5 rounds correct on everybody's roster, but the rest was filled in randomly as if by a really bad auto. However, the draft results tab/section was correct, RE: What we did in the draft window. The commish assigned me assistant commish and I stayed up to manually fix everything. The interface for adding players to rosters in Yahoo is terrible, it was tedious and took me nearly an hour. ugh

If everyone is online at the same time anyway, you could always finish up via email in an emergency. Total PITA but better than nothing.

Our draft went fine, never had a problem with the site. Not my preferred choice, but that is what one of my leagues (a keeper) has been using for the last 7 years with little to no problems. I hope things get resolved for ya ...
To the best of my knowledge, only one person could not get into the draft room last night. Since he is new to the league, and a friend of a regular in the league, I'm getting vibes to hold a do-over (which Yahoo is allowing). To me, that opens up far more worms than it solves. I'd love to resolve this in an amicable way, but the conversation is not converging to a resolution.
so, you're going to draft over after everybody's shown their hand?
I am not. Yours is just one of the reasons. But I'd like to convince the manager in question of the logic of this.

Anyone know if there are still issues with Yahoo?

Our draft is at 9 PM tonight and I'm not seeing the mock draft links listed per usual.

Was unsure if it's still down or buggy.

I've used Yahoo for years and never had a problem with it as well.

9:30 cdt draft here, and I alerted my commish. I was unable to get the "test" to launch (my company's firewall, likely culprit) but he was able to load it with no issues.

We may set up a free ESPN league just in case. You can always manually enter the rosters later.

Anyone have any drafts today that were completed a-OK? Any that weren't? I supposed we'd be hearing by now... just curious.

I drafted yesterday around noon on Yahoo. 16 team auction.

0 issues, it went perfectly. Not even a blip. Maybe we just got lucky?

why is anyone risking it when you can just setup a league on mfl, nfl, flea flicker, espn, etc.. and then transfer over later if you want.

Good projections or not, I just love it when it's obvious everyone is using the same rankings. They come off the board one after another, in perfect order. You can predict exactly what's coming, and it allows you to zig when everyone else zags. My Yahoo! league is a work league, and these LOSERS don't spend 12 hours a day on a fantasy football message board. Can you believe it??

I know right.........

Just had one and it worked fine on desktop and mobile. I think they disabled mocks to take strain off the servers.

1) Half of those cost $

2) It's a lot of work

3) Many dislike the drafting software of those sites

4) That's all I got...reaching here.

are they taking mocks down at night to lighten server load now???

just logged on to mock for my draft tomorrow, and no mock rooms exist.

This is why I don't do online drafts. Live all the way.

Love yahoos software from a commish and in season team management perspective. The fact that it's free is gravy.

MFL may allow you to nerd out with insane customization, but the layout/interface looks and works like an epileptic 8th grade HTML drop out made it. Absolute garbage.

:goodposting:

I used MFL again for the first time in many years, and it's still downright awful. Bad UX, and lots of little bugs that would take a good developer 20 minutes to fix, at the most. :X

Yahoo draft coming up Wed. night at 9pm EST (I know, I know I tried getting them to move sites!)

Just tried the "Test My System" link from the e-mail reminder Yahoo sends you about your upcoming draft and the page reads, "Connecting to Server" and the wheel has just been spinning for 20 minutes now. My system usually always works for this test too. Told our Commish to have a plan B ready to go on Wed. The traffic is only going to get worse probably.

Yeah, it seems MFL has put $0 into updating templates, graphics, and UI. They still have those crappy holiday ones lol. I guess they expect people to go on there forums and find someone to pay more money to write HTML for a custom template.

The free leagues are getting more features every year. MFL better step their game up or leagues are going to start moving.

Draft worked fine for me last night on google chrome browser. The app also works. I wouldn't worry about this issue.

I was getting that too, but determined it was my work firewall putting the kibash on it.

Went home on Monday night and drafted fine. Got another draft on Sept. 2nd and am confident it'll be fine.

Had an auction last night. Alex Smith was nominated and it immediately kicked everyone out of the draft room. By the time everyone reconnected, Smith had been placed on a team for $1, however he was still in the player pool. So Alex Smith is owned by two teams in my auction league. Good job, Yahoo.

Just finished my Yahoo draft... It chose a defensive player in the 6th round for me. At least 80 players beyond the best available player. I didn't miss my pick and didn't accidentally pick the player... just showed up on my roster.

The commissioner's response: "Oh well."

This happened in our draft. One of our owners took Kelvin Benjamin in the 5th. Repeatedly said he did not pick him. I tend to believe him because he's not too football savvy and I have a remote feeling he doesn't even know who Benjamin is. Sadly for him we kind of just moved on in an "oh well" format as well.

Benjamin is at least remotely in the ballpark for that pick.

But, in any case, "oh well" should never be an acceptable response for stuff like that.

I just had an ESPN screw up. Was working fine, then it wouldn't let me draft. I ended up using the lite version and didn't have any problems.
