First major league start ... just made his major league debut out of the bullpen a few days ago.Something named "Brandon Workman" has a no-hitter through 5 at Oakland.

I've always said 'nothing dictates the happenings of mlb more than RN's posts'I usually give these things the kiss of death.
Didn't he have like 5 or 6 walks? Shouldn't even count at that point.Bedard is such a professional
Orioles fans will attest that Erik Bedard asking out in the 7th inning of his own no-hitter is the most Erik Bedard thing ever.shadyridr said:Bedard is such a professional
ahem...i got a feeling about tonight.....
15-0 and something special.
peace
I forgot my asterisk.Well it is the Astros.Darvish perfect through 5. 10 Ks.
There are five teams with fewer runs scored than the Astros, including two AL teams, and another nine within 30 runs of them. This isn't like facing the Marlins in their giant park. 100% legit IMO.Well it is the Astros.Darvish perfect through 5. 10 Ks.
I didn't say it wasn't legit, all I was saying that it was the Astros. You know, the next to last .236 average leading the majors with 1094 strikeout Astros. There are five teams with fewer runs scored than the Astros, including two AL teams, and another nine within 30 runs of them. This isn't like facing the Marlins in their giant park. 100% legit IMO.Well it is the Astros.Darvish perfect through 5. 10 Ks.
Yep.He should have been able to finish it. It is the Astros after all.
I thought it was the right call. Though some St Louis fans seem to agree.... https://twitter.com/BestFansStLouisThought that could be an error easily as the throw pulled first baseman off the bag. Surprised he didn't get some home field help there.

My 13 year old was watching this game with me. Huge Cardinal fan...also a pitcher a shortstop. When that ball was hit and Kozma did everything he could - I thought my son was going to throw something through the tv. He screamed "Godda....I mean Gosh dangit...he has to make that play"... a few seconds later he realized he is also a shortstop so he countered with "Well, it was Wacha's fault, he shouldn't have let the guy hit the ball." Oh, to be 13 again when life was so much simpler.Ouch
Crazy. Tigers filtering through their starting pitchers as a last tune-up before the playoffs.Henderson Alvarez has put up 9 no hit innings
and the Marlins can't score...
Agreed and at least the Marlins have something to crow about. And he got it on a wild pitch! Good for Alvarez
Still an accomplishment for a guy with no strikeout pitch.Agreed and at least the Marlins have something to crow about. And he got it on a wild pitch! Good for Alvarez
Cabrera, VMart, AJAX and Hunter did not play and Fielder had one at bat though. He essentially no hit the Mudhens.
It's a hard thing to do at any level of professional baseball, I'm happy for him.Still an accomplishment for a guy with no strikeout pitch.Agreed and at least the Marlins have something to crow about. And he got it on a wild pitch! Good for Alvarez
