You trust that camera? (1 Viewer)

I have some electrical tape covering it. Big Bro might be able to read all I write but he cant watch me!

I trust that whomever might be watching is going to want to turn it off.

If the NSA wanna watch me beat off then I'll give em the front row ticket.
Not talking nsa. There's already scams where people are getting footage from cams and blackmailing. They get your whole contact list. You want them seeing that?

:hifive:

Been doing this for years on my laptops. People used to think I was too much of a  :nerd: , now it seems to be more common than not.  :bowtie:

What would a piece of tape over a camera have to do with people stealing your contacts?

It was interesting that he mentioned a device that they have for covering the camera and easily opening it for a video conference. You wonder why someone isn't jumping on this to deliver a similar device to the public for laptops and machines like my iMac.

I saw a story about how hackers will record you wackin off, hack your computer for your contact list and blackmail you, threatening to show the video to all your contacts if you don't pay up. Not sure if it's true though.

This is a real thing.

Do you have their contact info?  I have a few good sessions that I'd like to share with friends and family but not sure how to go about this.

I have already sent enough of these videos to my contacts that I doubt they would watch another.

Yeah, exactly like that! As I was typing that I was wondering if something like that existed already!

I have a post-it over the camera. Serves a dual purpose. All my passwords are written on it.

I laugh everytime I get a laptop back from a user with tape over the camera of their work laptop.  First off, wth are you doing with your work laptop that your worried some hacker seeing?  Second off, don't flatter yourself, unless you're one of the hot interns.
