Your class ring from college... (1 Viewer)

College class rings are a lot like PT Cruisers. There might not be anything wrong with them, but I view the people who have them a little differently.

I have one, wear it sporadically at best these days. My old high school one I think is in a drawer at my parents house.

I wear mine every day. It represents all the hard work that I went through to get my degree.

If you don't like it, the line forms to the left. :coffee:

A new coworker that started last week came in rocking a Georgia Tech class ring. He graduated from GT in 2006, so he's been wearing his awhile.

Seriously.
I don't get this.

If I graduated from Harvard or Yale, not only would I wear the class ring everywhere, but I would wear a t-shirt with an arrow POINTING to the ring.
To expand upon what I wrote before, the only ring a guy should wear is that of his defining achievements or moments in life. If graduating from Yale is among your defining moments, wear it. I'm including marriage in this, and yes, marrying your wife should be among your defining moments in life.

FWIW, I feel similar about tattoos.

Who said marriage has to be the only defining moment of your life?

Yeah, I mis-read your comment. Sorry.

What did you guys do with your college degree? Mine is still in the envelope it was mailed in somewhere in my parents attic. I've considered digging it out, framing it, and hanging up in the office.

Mine actually is hanging in my office. Only because the frame was given to me as a gift and includes a picture of this landmark above the diploma.

I also framed and hung my Law school diploma, mostly so people know I'm a "real lawyer".

 Graduating Ivy League is cake. It's the getting in that's hard. At least for undergraduate. Post-graduate can be a lot more varied.

I work with people from Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Princeton, MIT, West Point, etc. and I've never seen anyone wearing a college ring. It's possible they own a ring and just don't wear it or maybe wore it right after graduation. I can't imagine any of them wearing it now though.
