Ray Ban Wayfarers, tortoise shell, prescription

I wish I'd gotten black instead of tortoise, but who the hay?

For driving, I wear matte brown (I think they're rubber or something) prescription sunglasses by Dolce & Gabbana.

For casual outdoors stuff, I wear the free plastic movie promo shades my wife brings home. I think they're all made by the same mfg but come in different colors to match the movie.

Depends on what I'm doing and what the weather is like.

Costa Del Mar TP2, green mirror/amber glass - Bought for fishing but are all-around awesome.  Sunny, overcast, whatever...

Costa Del Mar Manta, dark gray poly - Sunny days

Oakley Gascan, gold mirror/amber poly - Working in the yard

For cheap shades, I prefer Flying Fisherman.  Polarized decent clarity plastic lenses for a reasonable price. I keep several pairs around and don't worry much about losing them.  I rarely wear my more expensive Costa high clarity polarized glass lenses anymore.  Too heavy and not better enough to be worth it.
I had a pair of Flying Fishermans I used to wear a lot.  Forgot what model.  Great bang for the buck, super light and comfy.  Worked well on the water and wore them a ton doing yard work.  Finally got too beat up.    Love my Costa glass for the water, but your're right that they are heavy.

I rock some J Crew tortoise shell as well, I think it was a fine choice

Maui Jims do have excellent quality lenses. Worth the cash. Just don't forget to to take them off when you jump into the ocean. I donated my pair to the waters off Makena Beach. They are in a better place.

I have found a good brand that look decent and are quite as punishing to the wallet: Suncloud

Frames are more plasticky but not horrible, lenses are good.

Pretty sure I have Oakley Half Jacket sunglasses: Here

They were a gift, but I don't lose stuff so I am not super concerned about the price. I think mine might be a slightly older model, I got them about 5 or so years ago.

My Jims are in the ocean of a beach in Aruba.  Blenders ever since.

Why can't sunglass sellers put a pair on a persons head in the pictures on their site? So annoying. Shorts, shirts, shoes, hats - all have people modeling their stuff. Sunglasses? Nope

The first sunglass company that will let you upload a picture/selfie and digitize their glasses onto your picture will make a killing

Not sure what you mean exactly

But https://www.lenscrafters.com/lc-us/mens-sunglasses there are no pictures of people wearing the actual sunglasses
Oh, my. In years past they used to have an application that allowed you to upload a photo of yourself (your head) and put the sunglasses on your face. I guess they don't do that anymore. It's how I bought my Wayfarers, which I never thought would look good on me.

They might do that at other discount places. I'd scour the web.

Have a pair of blue tint polarized Costas that I love. Would never pay retail so took advantage of military GOVX site sale and got them for ~70% off I think.

Definitely a step up in glass from my blenders, but there are some times I prefer the latter for risk of losing/trashing them.

Von Zipper Cletus (discontinued). Have had them for over 6 years. Still holding up well.
I had some Von Zipper Papa G's that I had for like a decade.  They finally met their end (not even sure how), by an arm breaking off.

I had some extra dough laying around in my PayPal, so despite already having a couple pairs of solid sunglasses in my arsenal, looked for some online.  Discontinued.  So I emailed them seeing if they may have some back stock or something.  They ended up passing me on to their warranty department, who, despite me having no proof of purchase, gave me $100 towards a new pair!  Ended up getting the Clutch, which was basically the same style as the Papa G's.  Ended up chipping in an extra $40 to get the sweet polarized lenses.  Great customer service there.

Wife just picked me up a new pair of M Jims, this is my 4th pair.

The rose color lens kick ###

I'm really bad with sunglasses,  so I refuse to shell out a lot of money for them. After a little research, I settled on a pair of Shady Ray's.

They have an excellent warranty too, which I have already used once.

Some RayBan black plastic frames...pretty simple...fit and feel well to me.  And being a nicer pair of I have kept up with them we..

Have an old pair of Oakley Half jackets that I wear on my bike or on a run (or yard work).  With interchangeable lenses these are good as I also use them for fishing with a set of polarized lenses.

Think I touted Shady Rays before. Got a bunch of Knockarounds that are same type and price point, maybe cheaper, got like 5 pair of Jamaican flag colored pair for like 20$ on 4/20. Cheap and good enough since I lose or ruin any nice shades.

Ahhh Makena Beach...my favorite place in the world.

My wife and I each have a coupon code that gets us whatever pair of MJs we want from their website. Finding it impossible to choose without trying them on. Also considering getting a pair w built-in readers as I’m always taking mine off and putting glasses on to check phone, text etc. I’ve had the code since May, can’tvpull the trigger.

I injured an eye when I was young so it no longer contracts all the way, so I need good sunglasses, and I have different ones for different types of light.

Favorites are Oliver Peoples Fairmont Sun and Entourage of 7 Beacon 1020.  Got a pair of Costa Del Mar Ocearch Spearos that were great for fishing in Mexico.   Have about a dozen pairs of others.

I got a notification on Facebook that Blenders is having 70% off and BOGO.  Good time to stock up if you like the sale items

Lemme know if you ever want a pair of Maui Jim’s.  I’m gonna chat with SIL, soon about some new ones for me

My parents, swear by Oliver peoples

Treated myself to a new pair of Maui Jim Peahi Rx Trivex with Hawaii Lava mirror. For being an HCL Bronze base lens they sure look grey/neutral. Anyone else with Rx Lavas notice this?

Clarity and everything about the lens is amazing. Color wasn't what I was expecting with the HCL Bronze being so neutral. Not bad, just different. I can see into the water as deep (maybe deeper) than with the Costa 580g's with amber lens & green mirror.
