Your favorite stand up comics... (2 Viewers)

I'm seeing Jo Koy saturday night in San Fran, this will be my first time seeing a comedian in a large venue and I'm looking forward to it.
Love me some Jo Koy. His early stuff kept me rolling on the floor, the last special was kinda meh but he still cracks me up. From the diaphragm!
The first was one of the funniest things I've seen in years, the second was a good follow up. They should let it rest now.
when he did the filipino/mexican shtick I lost it because it was 100% true. My mom still loads up on napkins from fast food places, has random Tupperware and puts vicks vapor rub on my nieces feet when she is sick. I've avoided him all over social media the past few months so I avoid any spoilers for this tour.

Oh, and being named Joseph I get called JOSEP all the damn time

Bargatze was good when we saw him. He certainly has a different pace then thr more aggressive comics but it was good show.

We havent seen Jo Koy. We've had the opportunity but didn't pull the trigger. But ultimately I'm sure we will catch him.

:lmao: I don't say Joseph anymore, it's always Josep with his mom's accent

Mulaney last night in Atlantic City was a good show. He is clearly working out bits for a new a special.

Overall, not his best work but it was still a blast. Up next.....Jim Jeffries in November.

Wife and I saw went to see George Carlin in Vegas many years ago. Carlin was the best ever in my opinion.

We are going in November to see Gaffigan. I like him and we needed a night out.
2 of my favorites. Decades ago I used to drive around with my friends listening to a best of Carlin cassette on repeat, classic stuff.
JG had a tv show a few years ago that I thought was really good. A lot of current favorites like Mulaney had parts in it with everyone basically playing themselves.

I started following Jeff Arcuri on IG and his crowd work is really good. Much more relatable than, say, Matt Rife. I haven't seen any of Arcuri's set material though.

Just got home from seeing Brian Regan in St Pete. Last time I saw him was in the early 2000s, hes still hilarious. It was crazy seeing him with white hair and full white beard, it's hard to believe hes almost 60 but he's been around forever.

Prefacing this with the fact that I am not in the loop on popular comedians these days. Having never seen any previous clips, the wife and I watched Nate Bargatze's new Netflix special. I think we laughed two or three times, but I personally did not find him funny at all. Not sure what the big deal is with him. Idk, maybe it's me?

He's hit and miss and you have to like his aw shucks kinda groove. We saw the tour that just made that special when it was by us and it was solid but not top tier like some of the other shows we've seen.

Watch any of his earlier specials. Also prefacing, I'm a big fan, saw that recent special live and found it funny, but watching it on Netflix, actually didn't laugh too much. And this is coming from someone that rewatches all his other stuff and laugh every single time.

It has been a while since I watched/listened to any particular comedian but I get some shorts on my YouTube feed and some Facebook reels.

Is it a new trend for comedians to interview various audience members and make jokes out of what they hear? I’ve noticed several different comedians doing this in the shorts/reels.

Many of my favorites recently have been female comics

Taylor Tomlinson is very good...she is very clever and quick on her feet.

Ali Wong did a concert maybe six months ago that I though was very funny.

Comedians call it "crowd work" and there have always been some that relied heavily on it. I remember seeing Howie Mandel in Vegas about 25 years ago and it was his whole act. Matt Rife has created a following by posting clips of him working the crowd.

:lmao: and then :football:

I just watched his explanation of the Kendrick Lamar/Drake beef. Very funny. In the spirit of that, here’s what started that about a decade ago.

Big Sean ft. Kendrick and Jay Electronica - “Control"

Josh explaining black culture to white people will never not be funny

Love his content, he seems like a good dude
I am currently on a Josh Johnson binge watch on youtube.
Dude has so many great 20, 30 minute bits, sometimes an hour.
He is very prolific and fresh. Extremely engaging. And always interesting.
The CEO shooter one is one of his most recent

I don't get the love for him at all. You're not alone.

T.J. Miller at the Improv in Ft Lauderdale/Dania Beach

Wife and I just recently discovered him and we think he's pretty darn funny
Just rips on different folks in his crowd and they seem to eat it up

-He sounds like Jason Lee in the movie Almost Famous as the lead in the made up group Stillwater

I'm tempted to extend a Vegas business trip another day b/c I found out Daniel Tosh (Tosh.0) will be playing a gig there the day after I'm scheduled to leave. I know jury is split on him but he's one of my fav comedians.

On topic, its amazing how shows like Kill Tony are giving so many comics an opportunity to just roll with the show and improv. So much funnier then written and vetted material. I love when Shane Gillis and Adam Ray do Trump and Biden, and Ray's Dr Phil riffs.

New Bill Burr special on Hulu. I checked it over the weekend and was pretty disappointed. Burr is a legend, but this one fell flat for me.

He still had some good bits about his wife and sadness. 6/10 overall.

I agree. Bill Burr is my favorite comedian but this last special was not his best

Going to see him this week. Have not seen any of his stuff before.

I was offered a couple Josh Blue tickets for tonight. I haven't heard much from him since he came onto the scene. I honestly didn't know he was still touring.
