Your Go-To Shoe. (1 Viewer)

Just wore a pair of these straight through. Multiple resolings. I'm trying to find an inexpensive but still quality alternative to these and the Brunos I wear, because I'm just getting tired of spending 600 bucks in a pair of shoes and then beating the crap out of them. I tried a pair of cheap kenneth coles of the web, but they squeak like crazy (the fake leathery I guess) any ideas?
Zappos. You need to find a middle ground. Kenneth Cole is crap, but 600 bucks for an apron toe oxford is too high in my opinion if you are hard on shoes. Just make sure it's all leather and none of that crappy fake stuff, and you can get a solid pair for under $150 delivered to your house.
Hard to find decent styles and quality in the low price ranges. I find most of them have the chunky sole and heel or the giant square toe, like we're going clubbing in 1990.
Don't bother with that. They're cheap for a reason, and you're a big city lawyer. Leave the Kenneth Coles and Steve Maddens of the world to the Akron office.

Have you tried Allen Edmonds yet? Might be a good price/quality compromise.

I bought my last pair of apron toed oxfords for around that off of Zappos, and I just took one off and it says "Steve Madden" on the inside. Good luck.

Reefs down here in Miami almost all year long.

Asics Kayano to run in

And I am a big fan of Royal Elastics and love the all black look they have, no laces on any of the shoes, they all slide right on. I do not like to tie shoes except if I go on a walk/run.

You're going for the wrong Cole. You want Haan. Very comfortable and you can get the Nike Air heel for under $200.

I'd try Allen Edmonds. Church's makes a nice shoe as well but you're really not saving from switching off the Ferragamo shoe.

edit-I didn't notice the 2nd page...so yeah like everyone on page 2. Allen Edmonds.

When you're headed out for a night on the town, what is your GO-TO SHOE (one only please)???

name/brand/style/color. and a link to a photo makes it all the better. I'm always on the lookout for new looks.

Me:

Clark's Wallabees - Brown suede

note: I assume this is a promo photo - you do NOT wear the suede tag that comes with it.
LOL. So awesome.

PSA - Nordstrom has a nice shoe sale going on right now if you are in the market for a shoe.

Are we back to cuffing straight legs? Again?...

Olukai the Moloa is the most comfortable shoe ever

I like the looks of these--similar in shape to the Keens that I favor for their comfortable swale around my toes. My next one will be the http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/product/shoes/men/casual/nopo%20lace/brown%20(full%20grain)'> Nopo Lace which is about as dressy as I need to be.

dunno why the link isn't setting up right: http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/product/shoes/men/casual/nopo%20lace/brown%20(full%20grain)

I have a $75 gift card to foot locker. I have no idea what to buy or how to spend it. All their stuff is crap.

Is a Cole Haan Air Carter (Mahogany) or Cole Haan Stanton Plain Oxford (Black) too formal for mostly dockers and golf shirt-type business casual or only good with suits? If the former is ok can you wear them with jeans too?

If you are going to pay big money for shoes Alden is the way to go. Those shoes last forever.

Edmonds is also good if you want to pay a bit less.

Shoe for the weekend. These will be as dressed up as I ever get. I rarely wear a suit.

On my feet a lot at work. Went with these recently. http://www.colehaan.com/air-conner-black-washed/C07035.html

Just bought a pair of AE boat shoes for casual wear. Haven't gotten them in yet. And also bought some Clark's Desert Boots I haven't gotten around to wearing yet either

Which nursing home are you at these days?

I wear Ecco loafers for everyday office wear. If I'm in a suit, I have a pair of Bruno's on call. On weekends, I normally bum around in Doc Martens (not the boots, just a low cut black).

I have pretty high arches and a lot of Oxfords are murder for me to break in. I hate paying the ridiculous cost for the Italian stuff, but I need pretty supple leather in the arch. I also go through soles quickly, so it makes sense to use the expensive stuff rarely.

I've had two pairs of Allen Edmonds Oxfords have the sole come flapping off the toe within 3 months of buying them. I'm not easy on shoes, but I'm not THAT tough on them either.

I need a new black slip on dress shoe to wear with slacks or a suit for air air travel.
For the combination of comfort / style / ability to dress either up or down, the Italian brands are unbeatable.

I bought two pairs of Bruno Maglis about 10 years ago in my frequent-flyer days and haven't regretted the purchase for a second. Most comfortable dress shoes I've ever owned and they still get occasional compliments from folks in the office. Mine have also worn like iron (I've resoled them 3x each), but I've heard that they've started making their stuff in China recently, which would give me pause. If you can find a style that you like and that you know is still made in Italy I'd jump on them.

My current basic black dress shoe. Johnston & Murphy Hardings

A ##### to break in, but remarkably comfortable after the 5th-6th wear. Easily the most comfortable dress shoe I've had.

Nothing special looks-wise. Not going to win style points. Not going to get me laughed out of a meeting. Had to impulse buy from limited selection at Macy's before a wedding out of town as I had forgotten to pack my shoes, of all things.
