Your starting QB/RB goes down with injury (1 Viewer)

I've seen this somwhere before, but I wanted to see if any of you are in leagues that have rules like this...

Something to the effect that if you own a QB/RB and his backup at that position, and should the starting position player get knocked out with an injury during a game, then you get the points scored by the backup.

Anyone do this?

Just curious as a Vick owner who lost and would have won with Kolb's points.

I realize that it becomes subjective on many levels, but I could swear that I have heard of this being done.

I've seen team QB but never team RB done but during the draft you draft "Eagles QB"

I've never seen if you are lucky to have the backup you get the points.

I personally do not like that approach.

Yeah, there are leagues that do this and I remember a thread a few years back. I like the concept but I don'tknow if many of the league hosting sites are equipped to deal with this (might involve a manual adjustment by the commish).

Some leagues do, but I feel its a bad idea. Either goto team QB's (which I dislike with a passion), or live with the randomness that is the NFL and injuries. Part of the game.

to take this a step further, I would like to see a fantasy site that allows setting your lineup by quarters, so that if your QB (or any position)goes down or is just playing crappy, you could insert your backup for the next quarter. It would make the depth of your roster a lot more important and take some of the luck out of the "who do I start" decisions.

I know this is schtick but I think a first half /2nd half starting lineups would be a cool idea/wrinkle for fantasy.Teams in a blowout, swap out the QB/RB. I like it.

not schtick. I would seriously like to see being able to set lineups quarterly.
