Your Team is a lock for the playoffs - who to target? (1 Viewer)

I'm sure there are a few FBG's out there that have started 6-1, 7-0, etc.

A few teams you can count on for the playoffs.

I have one of those teams in one league, my other teams is junk.

1) With being a playoff lock and knowing the "unpredictability" of the FFL playoffs... what players are you targeting that have a great 14-16 run or even 15-16? Are there lateral moves you're considering or maybe even taking the "worst" of it now with the expectation you'll have players that have the best possible matchup for the playoffs?

2) i am a FBG subscriber, is there a tool to start looking at updated strength of schedules for the fantasy post-season relative to how good defenses have been this season (not what they were predicted to be pre-season?) I see there is ultimate strength of schedule - but it isn't wrapped up like 14-16 or 15-16 with its rankings

3) What players that have been very successful would you at least CONSIDER moving due to a particularly terrible fantasy stretch during the playoff run?

Honestly, I think if I'm a lock for the playoffs, I start handcuffing my best players if they have capable backups and favorable schedules over trying to pick up random free agents I may want to start come playoff time.

My team isn't a lock for the playoffs, but I am starting to unload some players with difficult playoff matchups. The main one being A.J. Green. Have good WR depth, so traded him for Mathews. Green's week 14-16 schedule is looking brutal:

Cowboys

@Eagles

@Steelers, who just held him to 1 catch in Cincy.

In a start 2 QB league, now would be a good time to unload Dalton too, while his value is high.

I am going to try and trade for Jamaal Charles, but not sure if I can get his owner to give him up. Charles has a very nice set of mathups for weeks 14-16:

@Browns

@Raiders

Colts

The problem with Charles, though, is Brady Quinn. On one hand, the Chiefs will have no choice but to run the ball because Quinn is so terrible, on the other hand, teams know this, and will put 11 (not an exaggeration with Quinn throwing the ball) in the box to stop Charles. I would feel better about Charles with Cassel starting...wow, can't believe I just said something good about Cassel, who is complete garbage in his own right! Tebow to the Chiefs?

:bag:

NON PPR REDRAFT

I am on top of my division and made four trades the last week:

Traded Stevan Ridley

FOR

Mike Wallace - to a desperate MJD owner with zero RB depth

Traded Aaron Hernandez, Dwayne Bowe, Shane Vereen, Devery Henderson

FOR

Jimmy Graham, Stevie Johnson - to an owner who had no one to replace Graham if he doesn't play, and Stevie on a bye

Traded Felix Jones, Phillip Tanner, David Wilson, Kyle Rudolph

FOR

Denarius Moore, Greg Olsen - to the Demarco Murray owner

Traded Brandon Lloyd, Deangelo Williams, Vincent Brown

FOR

Doug Martin, Montario Hardesty, Justin Blackmon - Huge steal in my opinion, this was also before Deangelo and Lloyd put up a combined 10 yards week 7.

Roster is in my signature, and I think I am easily the team to beat.

Actually I start looking at the defenses that will have favorable match ups during the FF playoffs. It's a little hard during the byes, but coming right out of them you might drop a spare TE or WR and roster a D facing teams like Jacksonville, Arizona, Cleveland, Oakland, etc.

Maybe you already have one D that will have a good match up or two during the playoffs and now you just need to get your hands on another that you can rotate with or plug in.

SF for instance is likely rostered. They host Miami in week 14 and play at Seattle in week 16. Sandwiched between those two good match ups is a game at New England. So you might want to sign the Dolphins, who play Jacksonville in week 15. Miami is a D you probably can find on your waiver wire.

Buffalo's D hasn't looked too hot lately but in weeks 14-16 their schedule is STL, SEA, and @MIA. So that's another one to keep an eye on that there's a good chance isn't rostered right now.

KC's D is @CLE, @OAK, and hosts IND in weeks 14-16. Another likely available D, though if Quinn is under center might worry about the offense giving up good field position for those teams.

I'm 6-1 In a 12 team .5 ppr big money league. Just traded Fred Jackson for Miles Austin. Through great trading this season, Rice and Forte are my other RBs and have Roddy White and Jordy Nelson as my WRs already.

Jackson has a horrible RB playoff schedule and is now splitting with Spiller, while Austin and the Cowboys have probably the best ros WR schedule in the league. With Bryant limited and Austin finally healthy, I have a feeling Romo is going to look Austin's way a lot down the stretch.

I love how people pimp up Austin, citing dez's injury while completely glossing over the fact that its Austin who hasn't kept his hamstrings intact for about a year now
