Which one looks to have the most upside for this year? Murray is physically gifted beyond Stacy. Even with the RB mess in STL people still seem to favor Stacy.
I'm a Pead homer, but I think Murray has a much clearer path to playing time.
When McFadden goes down, it'll be Reece/Jennings/Murray in the mix. After the showing Jennings had last season, Murray's talent and Reece's skillset will get them the majority of the touches and with his speed, he's the best lottery ticket out of the two.

I don't quite agree with you, Stacy is in an open competetion with Richardson and Pead for the starting job, while Murray is competeting for playing time as a backup. IF DMC goes down he could be a productive RB, but Stacy has a chance to start from the get go. Either way both guys could end up being the starters for the 2014 season.
I think Murray is more talented than Stacy or any of the Oakland backups, and when DMC goes down for the year, he could pick up the reigns and start there for the rest of this season and beyond (since it is DMC's contract year).
Stacy has to beat out Pead and Richardson, and frankly I think its a longshot that he takes the starting role from either of them this year (I'd be moderately surprised if he was more than the third string). He might take over in the future, but who knows.

This. Stacy has a far better path to playing time than Murray. DMAC is one of the best RBs in the NFL when's he's healthy. Granted he's not heathly often enough. Regardless waiting for a guy to get injuries so a player can see the field is worse than having a guy who can legitimately earn time on the field IMO. Not even close,I'd take Sacy and I believe ADPs validate that stance as well.

I don't know what makes any of you think Murray is more talented. He played against a lot weaker competition in college and you can see that when you watch highlights of both of them. The only thing that Murray has over Stacy is his 40 time (which doesn't utilize as well as he could). *I don't consider height a factor with running backs* I'm not saying Murray is talentless or the Stacy is the greatest back ever but to say he is flat out more talented is incorrect. I do thing Stacy is the better back though.
Between Murray's a ADP and the fact that DMC gets injured every year Murray is a good lottery ticket. Last year the ticket was Taiwan Jones and how'd that pay off? Oakland doesn't have the 49ers o-line and offense that makes you think that who goes in is going to be a stud. So even if he does get a starting job he is still in a tough spot. And again that means DMC misses a significant amount of time.
As a Richardson owner I would love for him to be an every down back but from everything I've heard he's mostly going to be a CoP back and maybe a 3rd down back if his pass protection improves. That leaves Pead vs Stacy. Pead has a Week 1 suspension which at least means Stacy could get a shot to steal the job.
These two aren't close enough in ADP to use that in this discussion. So just player vs player who likely to have the better season this year? Stacy and it's not even close.
