Zach Miller (Flynn, Tavaris or Wilson)? (1 Viewer)

I feel like Zach Miller has 3 different values depending on the outcome of the Seahawks QB battle which i believe will go to Flynn at least for this season. I see Wilson as a great backup QB with starter potential if we can build a team around his shortness over the coming few drafts (Much like Breez & the Siants). I feel if Tavaris is the QB Zach Miller will not have much fantasy value. If Wilson is the starter, which is least likely for this year, Zach Miller would become a great safety blanket for a rookie QB, and show even more value in ppr leagues. If Flynn gets the reigns, I feel Zach Miller has the best chance to go back to his numbers from previous Oakland seasons. If the same Matt Flynn shows up that played that impressive game against NE (even though they lost he showed composure, patience and elite skills) and that record breaking game he played this last season. The Seahawks have gone to the super bowl with a former Green Bay backup, and Pete Carroll has transformed this team into something great! there is always a chance that Flynn is just a backup which is why i think Miller has such a low ADP.

With all that said, what do you think of his dynasty value going forward? If Tarvaris does not start for us I see him going on to be a decent CFL QB. Meaning the QB roster will be Flynn Wilson and Porter. does anyone see Miller (or even Flynn) as a deep sleeper? (especially in dynasty non ppr format) I am in a 2 TE league, and i have Hernandez F. Davis K. Rudolph and thinking of grabbing Z. Miller as a backupto Rudolph in the off chance that my backup or starter is injured on a bye. the only scary thing is he shares Rudolph's bye this year but my team is built on youth and the long haul as well as winning now. (I think i posted in wrong forum meant to be in head coach, although the topic could be debated on here of his sleeper value as well (if a mod could move or tell me how to delete i will move it over))

Ummm.... With Winslow there I don't think Miller has much value. Doesn't sound like you know Winslow is on the Hawks. Miller is a much better NFL player than fantasy player at this point. He'll be used as a blocker too much to have value.

carrol doesn't use the TE. we have seen time and time again that a good TE in an offense that doesn't use the TE will not do much fantasy wise.

20 and 22...that is the ceiling for each Hawk TE...you are better off drafting Christian Fauria.

I believe Winslow will take some of the passes, but Bevell himself says he really likes Miller http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20120805/SPORTS/708059919 It is just speculation at this point, but most of the TE depth is gone and i just need a backup to a backup who could have starter potential if winslow goes down
If he takes ONE pass from Miller's total in 2011, Miller is looking at 24 total receptions...I see NO WAY either of these guys end up with 30 receptions.

Ben Coates was Carroll's leading receiver for 2 of his 3 years in NE, with 66/737/8 and 67/668/6, and had a 58/749/4 TE his one season with the Jets. The past two seasons his TEs haven't done jack but they have also had a lot of offensive line injuries (as well as the #2 TE) and have reportedly been keeping in extra protection. He has also brought in 2 guys in 2 years who are quality TE receivers. If they continue to have offensive line struggles then there won't be much production from this pair, but I don't see why Miller and Winslow can't combine for 80-90 receptions, 1,000-1,100 yards and 8 TDs. If I had to pick one I'd go Winslow simply because he's never had a rep as a great blocker and if they are keeping one in and sending one out Miller should be the one blocking.I would also ding them if TO ended up the starter as at this point in his career he will be doing a lot of work TEs normally do.

Good info posted! It appears w three solid TE's (12 team?) I would consider players like Green Bay's DJ Williams (not so much injury to Finley, but opportunity to possibly see some plays in an explosive offense) I mean if he only has two catchs (2TD's) Id be quite pleased for a bye wk fill-in..

ok, thank you

Anyways... This thread is now relevant again, Zach Miller in my opinion will be a safety blanket for Russel wilson, and now kellen isnt there to vulture his tds and ppasses

I wouldn't be too quick to ANNOINT Zack Miller as his go-to Tight End. Reports are that Russell Wilson has a special connection with Anthony McCoy:http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000057553/article/kellen-winslow-released-by-seattle-seahawks?module=HP11_headline_stack
