I am watching every Bond movie: please kill me (1 Viewer)

Think I may watch Dr. No and From Russia again to warm back up into it and then got tossed full speed into the late 80s/90s movies.

I thought I read that so I tried to watch goldfinger on there this morning and it wanted 3.99 for it. So I dug out my box set that started this horrible thread.
I just looked too, they must have taken all of them down at the start of the new year. Oh well, good thing you the set.

we're kind of back!! We went to see Spectre tonight. I thought it was quite good. A lack of Waltz which is bothersome, and the snooping story wasn't a huge hit (I like my villains to be more over the top) but I really enjoyed it. I particularly liked all the nods to the 60s movies, with the train scene, the building in the alps and the Spectre hidden location in a giant crater. Loved all that.

Good enough Bond theme too. Hopefully we see more of Blofeld in the future, movies are much better with him IMO.

5.5 years later and WE ARE BACK BABY.

I got a PS5 recently so I dug out my Bond blu-rays (if you remember, and you don’t, why would you...my last player broke) - and put in Licence to Kill. Much to my joy, the disk didn’t didn’t work. Seemed like a sign or maybe the company who made the disks knew what they were doing. So we’re skipping that one for now and put in Goldeneye.

I watched this movie 3 days ago and have zero recollection as to what happened. Did I black out? Was I drunk? Did I even watch it? WHO’S TO SAY. But what I do know is Bronson is a horrible Bond, Sean Bean was a cool villain, it was fun to see what they thought modern/futuristic technology was in 1995 and I am never, ever, ever going to get through these next 3 movies. I’ll see you all for Tomorrow Never Dies in 2026.

Unremarkable theme song too.

A week and a half to go until No Time to Die. :excited:

I re-watched the four Craig Bonds in the past few months.  I thought Casino Royale held up well.  Quantum of Solace was still a mess but slightly better than I remembered.  I think it helped that I watched it immediately after Casino Royale rather than as a standalone film.

I didn't love Skyfall as much this time around. The story never really recovered from the awkward transition from Act 1 to 2 and they wasted Javier Bardem as an underwritten villain.  Spectre still sucked.  There was nothing fun about it from the opening tracking shot to the unsatisfying ending.

Pluto TV is showing all the pre-Craig Bonds 24/7 again. They show a ridiculous amount of commercials but it's fun for me to flip to a random scene in a 007 movie and watch for a few minutes.

Is there a streaming service that has all of these currently? I thought paramount plus advertised that it was going to have all of them but I do not see them on there.

No Time to Die was good but I thought it was a little short on the fun factor that I've always loved about 007.

The last three Craig movies have been very serious.  The third act of this one may have been the most serious yet.  There were stretches where there was too much gabbing and not enough explosions.

On the plus side, Craig was excellent. Everything was beautiful to look at and there was some snappy dialog with M, Q and Moneypenny.  Ana de Armas stole the show during her brief appearance.

Still a new 007 movie is always a ride to savor.  I'm glad I made it to another one.

Just got back. I agree that there was a fun missing.

And as you said, holy moly Ana de Armas.

Overall, I'd say it was ok not great. Until the ending. With which I HATED.

Kind of late but I just saw 6 on Amazon prime. 4 with Pierce Brosnan and 2 with Daniel Craig. There are 4 on Hulu 7 if you have Hulu plus live Tv. Looks like there are some on Pluto tv. If you have Roku type James Bond in the search.
