GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (4 Viewers)

May have worked around the PCP's reluctance to see her, but the concussion specialist won't process a referral for 5-7 days.

Trying to get her in directly to a neurologist while we wait out the processing time.

I totally get that, but if she has a concussion, and obviously has a history of significant concussions, I’m not sure that finals are going to go well anyway. The whole thing sucks so bad.

And what a stupid way to get a concussion. That sucks too. My wife has had a bunch of concussions and most of hers have been really dumb. Makes it all the more disheartening.
Kid's been functioning with post-concussion symptoms for a couple years.   She can power through finals, but it will hurt before, during and after.

You'd be surprised, but threatening to sue a doctor who won't see a patient because she's afraid of practicing outside of her expertise isn't really an effective way to get an appointment.   They're all gunshy.   You present a kid with an eating disorder and a history of concussion and they all suddenly aren't taking new patients.
I get the lawyer bit. I was just dumb founded and was grasping at straws.

What “expertise” does this pcp have?  This confuses me.  Mine’s a GP.  Anything outside of his general range, is an automatic referral.

I would expect the conversation to go as follows:

“doc, I think roverkid has another concussion”

“oh no!  Bring her in, so I can check her out quickly, and I’ll get you a referral right away”.

Still dumbfounded.  Never heard of a PCP refusing to see someone

So sorry y’all have to deal with this crap again.

Pro tip for you young door to door salesmen....

If you see a guy laying on the floor of his truck in a twisted pretzel position, cursing as he's trying to reach something under the dash.

That is NOT the appropriate time to try to sell me your exterminator services....it could create an awkward situation of pulling a socket out of your eyeball

What’s with all of the questions today?  “Where did you learn to drive?”; “Will you marry me?”; “Why would you say that to my dog?”

I went to the grocery store today, my wife sent me a picture of the mixed nuts she wanted me to get to make sure I got the right kind.  Came home and she asked "they didn't have the unsalted kind?"  Guess what kind she has been eating and sent me a picture of??  I will assume 99 out of 100 would guess salted. "I got the kind you sent me a picture of..." been a quite evening so far.

well, i bought "Spanish chorizo" and not "Mexican chorizo" which my wife's discerning palate immediately picked up on based off smell alone.

apparently the Spanish don't know from chorizo

Had to leave work for home bc the AC air handler “was leaking” per Mrs. O. I asked her if the AC was running. The answer was “no, it hadn’t run since last night.” Is it warm in the house? “No, it’s the same temp as usual” per Mrs. O. Did you try and run it to see if it’s just a clog? “No, didn’t do that” per Mrs. O. Is the auto shut off on the air handler up indicating it’s stopped? “I don’t know” per Mrs. O

Basically I just drove an hour to come home to the aftermath of a clog and an air handler that seems fine, but should probably get a tune up one of these days (it’s overdue by a year). By no means am I an AC guy, but I know the basics and a clog in the condensate line is almost always the most obvious issue. I wish she’d remember the very basics of how this stuff works, but it never seems to be retained. I’m taking the rest of the day off and might have a beer or two at lunch. Ugh.

ETA: The condensate pump might not be working. AC repair folks will be here in a couple of hours.

So on the plus side, your A/C really does need service! You didn't waste a trip home.

So naturally the motor in the air handler just died, but it’s under warranty. The good news is it won’t cost much to replace (labor), but the bad news I’m in Florida in July without AC for as many days as it takes to get this motor down here from wherever. I guess I can now go to public hearings about COVID and claim the vaccine magnetized me while sticking a key to my head.

i've been a complete douchenozzle, the last few times at walmart.  to the point the wife said, 'this is last time i ever bring you here"  then we were on kohl's, returning some amazon stuff.  same deal.  then she looked at me suddenly and said, "you're doing this on purpose!!  so i don't want you to come"  the gig is up boys...she's on to me. :sadbanana:

Insurance companies are the worst. And so is PA’s insurance law. Making the state minimum for property damage coverage for car insurance just $5,000 is just plain stupid. I never thought dealing with the loss of an 18 year old vehicle would be this aggravating.

But, being involved with two other vehicles at 65 MPH, including an 18 wheeler with a full load, 2 destroyed guardrails, 2 totaled vehicles, and a major highway shut down for 2 hours during rush hour and coming out of it with no injuries at all is really something I’m just trying to be thankful for.

My wife likes to add things to the grocery list and gets mad if I get the wrong thing but then also gets mad if I ask questions
So wife gives me a list with 15 things on it today.

I get home and she asks where the hot dogs and bottled water are. They were not on the list any she never mentioned them before I left.   :kicksrock:
