Bought my first one back in the early 2000s. I think they were one of the first out of the box companies.

I'm on my third one now and still recommend.

does this mean that you went through 3 mattresses in 15-16 years?

ETA: or you also bought mattresses for other bedrooms?

Two races in, I'm killing it on the terrible donkeys running at Canterbury today.   3rd race coming up if anyone wants some bad thoroughbred action.

Can we all agree that it’s never the ordering that is the bottleneck at the fast food drive thru, it’s the food delivery? So having two lanes to order in does nothing but really really screw up the line and confuse the workers inside.

The exception to the rule as always is Chick-fil-A.  Their dual lines are as efficient as most single drive through.

I disagree.  The bottleneck is the lady in the minivan that takes 10 minutes at the window while she negotiates with her kids about what they can and can't have.   Place by my house has 2 drive throughs.  I pick the one with single people driving and sail through every time.

It could have been GM, I guess.

I've disliked jobs before.

Never have I loathed going in to the office as much as now. And the people I'm working under are decent enough folk...but this is a terrible, terrible two-way relationship. Can't quit soon enough. Well...I need another job, I guess I actually can't quit soon.

It's driving this tea-totaller to drinks. And edibles. And the crack.

Daily gripe has ended.

On the other hand, it's been a gorgeous spring here in NYC.

spend the coin, and get some good yay.  that crack ####, is no bueno

Speaking of edibles I usually stay in the 5-10 mg range.  Sometimes I’ll take a dose earlier in the day and then another later, but I’ve generally founds that 20+ kicks my ###

so the other day I was trying a new gummy and it was 25mg so I decided to just cut it in half.  Popped it and then realized it was a 50mg.  Went better than expected but I did have to explain to the wife my math error when I kept giggling at dinner

this led to my wife complaining about me overindulging when the 9 year old pipes up with

“daddy has a drinking problem?”

12 year old completely deadpan “you didn’t know that?”

more laughter

I'm pretty sure it's the #### that was asked to pull up and her food would be brought out but she pulls up literally 3 feet so the next person can't actually pull out

Online reviews for anything drive me nuts anymore.  So many fake 5* from people getting a $5 amazon card or whatever and then the 1* are usually for some completely unrelated reason “I ordered this bag of chips but my kid ate them 1*”
I had a company offer me a full refund on a set of earbuds if I bought them and left a 5 start review with 3 pictures.  It's hard to trust reviews.

My "wife" left like 8 5* reviews this past year on stuff we were just randomly sent.  Pretty obvious when they have 500 5* reviews that were all left on the same day.

Aukey and MPow were two of the largest electronics accessories and headphones companies on Amazon and they both had all of their products pulled from Amazon this month for doing exactly what you describe. It’s a start, but Amazon is absolutely filled with this garbage and if the Chinese company behind it gets booted by Amazon they simply create another company and come right back.  I’ve started to use Amazon less and less because it’s not only hard to find actual quality products, but the way they manage inventory means you can easily get fraudulent products when buying Sold By Amazon products or even sold by the name brand manufacturer on Amazon. Some crazy percentage of name brand memory cards on Amazon are actually knockoffs. It’s insane.

And actually, as this article makes clear, Amazon isn’t really doing anything on their own about it especially if the seller is generating a ton of sales. Rather, they are only acting when forced to by the FTC. Of course the FTC sucks too because they refused to comment on it at all which is absurd for a government entity to refuse to report to the public when they know stuff like this is going on which just hides the true extent of the problem.

Can we all agree, mothers are the worst?

Yeah I recently bought some energizer batteries.  The ones I normally buy were out of stock.  The ones I bought came with the package opened which should have been a huge red flag to send back but kids needed them.  Definitely seemed like they drained fast and I did go back and look at reviews and a lot of people had similar experiences

I feel like it’s basically just become a giant flea market now

and yeah, I’ve noticed the Chinese companies just change their name and keep selling the same junk

as someone else said if it’s not Prime im typically not buying it except in specialized cases…my wife on the other hand just buys whatever and then we end up getting screwed on returns

I just figured out there's only two good weekends for my next Vegas trip, they are consecutive, and there are big music festivals on Fremont Street both weekends. Upside: DEVO!

I’d be tempted to see DEVO since I’ve never had the chance to, but I’ll be in Philly for another show on the 25th. We’ve never met up in Vegas twice in the same year, right?

Yup, it was MPow.

Make sure it's the right Devo. Spotify plays it's games with me, playlisting some horrible foreign hop hop outfit with the same name.

If they're headlining the 22nd Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival, it better damn well be whatever members are still alive.

Devo on Sunday.  Decendents on Friday.  They still put on a great show. Frank Turner and Bad Cop/Bad Cop also on Friday. Circle Jerks on Saturday. ALL plays on Sunday. And a whole bunch of other fun acts. I may have to head out there...

I saw Descendents a couple of years ago. After having seen them when I was but a youth.

They still rocked.

I never could get into 80s pop music.  I still have nightmares about that night I was stuck in an 80s throwback bar at the beach because my friend, whose house I was staying at, was hooking up so he insisted on staying (she wasn't as good looking as his girlfriend).  They played "Come on Eileen" 3 times.  It was torture.

This isn't exactly a pop lineup.

at this point is there really any difference between the Descendents and ALL?
Descendants are headlining Friday, they stepped in for NOFX. The English Beat are also playing Sunday, but I will likely still be sweating the Packers/Niners on SNF when they're playing.
