NY Giants at Minnesota (1 Viewer)

What is the current playoff scenario for the Vikings after the earlier games?
Playing with the simulator at ESPN, to not make the playoffs it would require:

  • MN losing to both NY, GB
  • Sea to lose to both StL & Arz
  • Atl to beat NO next week
  • SF to beat StL next week
  • Tenn to beat Ind next week
  • Den to beat SD next week (this one only matters if NO loses this week, which is looking unlikely at this point, but sets up a much more complex scenario where the SF/StL or Tenn/Ind game only matter if SD wins this matchup)
Any one of those games switches, and the Vikings clinch.

Thankfully it'll all be moot after the Vikings beat NYG tonight and then take the division in week 17.

Very odd to have been wishing for Cruz this summer and tonight they are gonna need Nicks to step up

Greg Coleman says Linval Joseph's return is questionable. I guess his toe is still hurting too much for him to play.

It is good that the Vikings were able to get out of the shadow of the end zone after some nice special teams play by the Giants.

The Vikings punter isn't good enough for the Vikings to flip the field but it was enough to make the Giants need to gain 70 yards instead of 50.

I am hearing Joseph is going back in the game. Jennings gets the Giants first first down.

Wallace is gone after this year, right? no dead money (it's all base next year), doesn't make sense to pay him $11.5M.

I think so.

He has done a good job of being a cheerleader for other Vikings players this season and his play has been fine sometimes. Maybe they renegotiate if he wants to stay with the Vikings. I doubt they pay him what his contract is for next season though.

Huh. Quiet in here for a Sunday night game in championship week for many FF leagues.
Fans that might be interested in this such as the Packers or Seahawks laid an egg earlier. So less heckling posts perhaps?

The Giants were already eliminated from the playoffs last night. So not really a concern of theirs either way I suppose.

For fantasy not likely much interest in the Vikings offense aside from Peterson and the Giants offense without Beckham may not have had many starters either.

The Vikings winning ugly. It is what they do. Pass protection still is an issue at key moments.

The defense is playing well. A few big mistakes but playing well overall.

Folks with a dynasty interest

Either Collinsworth is a moron (probably a given) or Mike Zimmer is. Collinsworth implies that Zimmer's coaching of Bridgewater is causing him to pass up open receivers in favor of FG tries, and presents it like this is a positive step in TB's maturation as a QB.

He was pointing out that Teddy didn't throw a risky pass when they are in FG range. The "open" guy would have been a really tough pass back across his body. Good choice by Teddy in that situation.

Eli is working on his third 4 int game against the Vikings...

In other news, the Vikings DF is likely winning people some fantasy championships this year.

Just needed a few points out of Jennings and Tye but I see Eli decided to have one of those games tonight.

Eli even came out and said his strategy is just to chuck the ball up and hope his guy catches it.

And he does it every time he feels pressure because he's afraid of taking a hit.

Why do we keep this guy?
Seems like that strategy worked well with OBJ on the field. Not so much with scrubs.

Essentially, Eli is the next Daunte Culpepper.

Well except that Culpepper could run the ball like Christian Okoye I suppose they might be similar.
