GM's thread about nothing (4 Viewers)

You've yet to discover the joys of pasta carbonara? Alfredo sauce, sausage, and bacon. :lmao: I just got fatter from writing that. :goodposting:
That's not carbonara... In my world Carbonara is cracked peppercorns, egg yolk and salted smoked side pork (cubed), which could be replaced by plenty of bacon... which also makes my version a healthy alternative.Bacon is my favorite vegetable.
This is correct. Carbonara should be made with only with egg yolks, pancetta (or another Italian pork starting with a "g" the name of which I'm blanking on, or bacon if you're desperate), pepper , and in most cases a small amount of cheese.Damn, I'm hungry now.

This is clearly the appropriate thread for advice on cat names. We just got our new kitten, Frejya, last week. In another month or so, we'll be picking up another kitten. We are tentatively thinking of calling him Loki. Is naming both of your cats after the Norse pantheon pretentious?Another option would be Izzy, which comes from our habit of giving my recently deceased cat, Bijan, ethnic nicknames. So he'd be Senor Jose StinkNPuff, or Giuseppe Fuzzetti (I'm not creative, stereotypical first name/reference to odor or furriness is the basic template). Our favorite of those nicknames was Izzy Puffelstein. Would naming the new cat Izzy be disrespecting my favorite cat's memory?I'll hang up and listen.
 I think it's called an Homage.

I started a 10-day fast yesterday. Just a bit of mental and physical cleansing. Mr. krista4 kindly mentioned that he felt bad bringing home dinner and eating it in front of me, to which I responded that it was no problem. Then he decided simply to "cook some pasta or something"--again, no problem.

So what did he decide to fix to put on his pasta? That's right, the most scrumptious-smelling invention of all time--bacon. BACON!

Total dickmitten move.
I hate being the one to have to tell you this, but this is your fault.
I totally disagree.
That's surprising.
It shouldn't be. I don't think you hated being the one to tell her this at all.
HATED it.

gickmitten? ETA: Capicola (also spelled Capocollo, Capocolla, Capacollo, and Cappicola) is a thinly sliced Italian luncheon meat, taken from the shoulder (collo) and neck (capo - head) of a pig. As popularized by the television show The Sopranos, it is also known as gabagool in Italian-American slang. It is well regarded for its taste and is more expensive than most other luncheon meats.

One of the team names at my local bar trivia game the other night was "Lindsay Lohan is a Political Prisoner". When the host read off their name one of the members yelled out "Attica! Attica! Attica!". I was rolling.

The winning team name at my trivia last night was All of Lindsey's Fridays Will Be Freaky for a While.Oh, and though "gickmitten" made me :coffee: , "guanciale" is what I was looking for. :goodposting:

So I go into a stall in the bathroom at work, and untuck my shirt getting ready to do my business, when a dried cranberry falls out and bounces/rolls into the stall next to me, which was occupied. No comment was made.

He was probably waiting for the rest of them to fall out.

I am going to guess pure awesomeness!

Does every female in the Dallas area flock to the Stu Train? Did you pick up some secret pharamones or something? No offense, but when I'm in Dallas in October, I'm keeping my lady far far FAR away from you.
Screw the wif, the way Stu pulls I'd be worried about you falling for him

Did he pick it up?

A little girl got abducted from her house in Southern Missouri Monday and they found her Tuesday at a gas station/car wash that I have been to many times since it is right by a client of mine. I was really happy to hear they found her completely unharmed but the best part was yesterday the perp killed himself.

 "Now we don't have to rehabilitate the SOB" Carl Sparks, former Sheriff of Kern County.

I had 10 beers last night and I'm not hungover.
I partied like a rock star for 4 days ending last Sunday night and I still feel terrible.
Non-stop Wednesday through Friday for me, Couldn't even move on Saturday even though I missed the bands on Saturday.Highlight of the weekend: Entirely different story2nd place: It's about 10 on Wednesday night, I've been drinking like David Hasselhoff since about 4:00 and we hit the bar that was out 8:00 destination. The first thing I see is a horse trough full of the cheap swill beer that got me through most of the 6 years it took me to complete my undergrad. I sway up to the beer tub tart and say something that must have sounded like "Mngh nuf uh two Pilsners!". Luckily she was able to translate, and after pulling a wad of crumpled up $5s and handing them to her until she stopped rolling her eyes, I walk away 2 beers and much aplomb in hand. There's a cute Asian girl sitting by herself at a table. Or at least I'm assuming at this point that the Asian guy sitting at the same table as her is just an odd coincidence, so I sit down and say to her:"I'm Han Solo, captain of the Millennium Falcon. Chewie here tells me you're lookin' for passage to the Alderaan system?"Her: <_< "You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon? It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs."I can only assume at that point she realized that it was well past her curfew and had to go home.

:lmao: :lmao:

Next time go with "Hello, what have we here? Welcome, I'm Lando Calrissian, the administrator of this facility. And who might you be?"

Lando is smooth with the ladies. :fro:
