Willing to bet the mother is having the kid return a shell to the American soldiers so they don't toss her house.

The trailers for this look incredibly intense.
I'm trademarking the phrase "Deer Hunter for the 21st Century", but I'll let you guys use it gratis.
This is the movie that glorifies a government-hired hit man.To paraphrase a tweet, is this the movie where an American sniper possibly kills innocent foreigners and the sniper is the victim?
I'm excited to see the movie, but yeah.
Pretty dickish tweet. Sounds like something writtenTo paraphrase a tweet, is this the movie where an American sniper possibly kills innocent foreigners and the sniper is the victim?

Agreed.Looks awesome. I might actually go to the movies and see it.
I read the book as well and I did not care for it much. After a while I just got tired of reading about what a bad ### all these guys are. I got that pretty quick in the book but it seemed like thats what every chapter was. I did here him interviewed and I actually felt he was much more humble in the interview. He said he was just at the right spot at the right time a lot. To bad the way he died if that is the truth. The General said:Pretty dickish tweet. by some little doosh sitting in a Starbucks. Read the book and more just talks about a guy doing a messed up job and dealing with the consequences of actions.
The "foreigners" he was shooting at weren't carrying lollipops.
Amy Adams always makes me feel good.Trouble with the Curve was absolutely embarrassing. It made me physically ill.

You sure it wasn't all the popcorn and Jujubes?
*updates my notebook*FWIW, two co-workers in NYC saw it - both said awesome and they were separate conversations and neither prompted.
One male, one female - both late 20's and college educated.
Yep. Couldn't finish this or the Lutrell books because of the chest-thumping nonsense that was essentially just padding the page count.I read the book as well and I did not care for it much. Well of course it is, we're only 12 days into the year.I saw this movie a few weeks ago. Best movie of the year IMO. Bradley Cooper really needs to be considered for lead actor awards after this performance. Must see.

I saw it at a special screener in December....does that count for 2014?Well of course it is, we're only 12 days into the year.I saw this movie a few weeks ago. Best movie of the year IMO. Bradley Cooper really needs to be considered for lead actor awards after this performance. Must see.
good the hear. I thought he was an odd choice, but sounds like he nailed it. hope to see it soon.I saw this movie a few weeks ago. Best movie of the year IMO. Bradley Cooper really needs to be considered for lead actor awards after this performance. Must see.
I think the balance is really good. The small brief scenes back home really illustrate the difficulty that these guys, that he in particular, have in doing what they have done. For those who have seen this and Hurt Locker, could you compare the two?
Really liked HL, liked the intense war situations. Didn't care for the returning to home PTSD family stuff, but it was minimal so it was okay. The commercials for American Sniper make it look the other way around where the PTSD/family stuff is a majority of the movie and the intense war situations are sprinkled in. Is this true?

I would agree with this as well. I think that the movie does a good job of portraying the challenges of the military life.I think the balance is really good.
