Kevin White pretty quiet yesterday.....did he get injured?
From what I saw it was good coverage. TCUs's Kevin White, types they have a CB with the same name, played him very well. TCU was constantly playing a S over the top to White as well. Basically it looked like TCU had a game plan of not letting White bra them and they executed it.

He was benched for almost the whole first half after an early fumble.
costing them any shot of keeping up, offense was awful without him.
And the idiot coach: "that's a rule we have."

One guy to add to your draft radar: Daniel Lasco, junior RB California.

Lasco is listed at 6'0", 210. He looks a little skinny for an RB, but he could add more muscle to his frame. He's a mid-sized back and his game is mostly mid-sized; he's reasonably fast but not a burner, has good plants and shifts but isn't super wiggly, has good strength but isn't a beast. He does have excellent balance and is a great receiver out of the backfield. The Cal back he reminds me most of is Justin Forsett, and that Forsett role of a third down, COP back, with potential to be effective when called upon, is where I'd see Lasco fitting in in the NFL. He's probably not going to be enough of a star to leave for the NFL this year, but he's looking like someone who'll catch on somewhere when he does. He's currently averaging 5.4 yards per carry with 10 rushing TDs, and has 27 receptions with 2 more TDs there.

Here's one of his best highlights this year, a 92-yard reception:

http://www.snappytv.com/snaps/daniel-lasco-92-yard-td-catch-about-football-colorado-at-cal-on-pac-12-bay-area_m2

I'm getting excited about this class. The WR group is really coming together based on recent projections and rankings.

I'm really excited about Strong, Coates, and now Parker(again). It's still very early, but I wouldn't be suprised by this class measuring up to last years, through the top 45-60 NFL picks or so. I never would have guessed that'd be the case coming into the season.

Add that to a potentially great RB group and a couple solid QB prospects--again, strong class.

Ohio State senior WR Devin Smith scored twice and recorded 72 yards on three receptions in a 55-14 pasting of Illinois on Saturday.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound speedster is basically only used on fly routes or as a decoy to draw a safety further away from the line of scrimmage. As such, he's recorded a ridiculous 27.2 yard per catch average this season, but on only 16 catches for 435 yards. Of those 16 receptions, nine times he's been hauled down in the field of play, and seven times Smith has taken the ball to the house. We thought he'd receive a heavier workload this season, but there are, of course, many mouths to feed on the Buckeyes' offense.

Nov 2 - 9:27 PM
Oregon State redshirt senior QB Sean Mannion completed 30-of-45 attempts for 320 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's loss to Cal.

It was a nice bounceback performance for Mannion, who hadn't exceeded 300 yards since the season opener. That said, we aren't changing our opinion on him. Mannion can move the ball against poor NCAA defenses (the only three games this season in which he's looked better than average have been against Portland St., Hawaii, and Cal), but he gets overwhelmed by even decent talent. We don't think he'll be drafted.

Nov 2 - 8:30 PM
South Carolina junior RB Mike Davis rushed for 69 yards on 16 carries in Saturday's 45-42 overtime loss to Tennessee.

He also had a 34-yard reception. Davis was overshadowed by backup Brandon Wilds, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. If Davis' ability was as prestigious as his confidence -- TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline reported last month that Davis "feels he’ll be as highly rated as Todd Gurley come draft day" -- he'd be a top-10 pick. Back here on earth, he's cracked 100 yards just four times this year, and exceeded 105 yards twice. If South Carolina doesn't make a bowl, Davis might not match last season's 1,183 rushing yards.

Nov 2 - 8:13 PM
Nebraska coach Bo Pelini said senior RB Ameer Abdullah's MCL sprain was "mild" and described the injury as non-serious.

Abdullah exited Saturday's game against Purdue on the second drive of the first quarter after suffering the knee injury. He finished with one yard on six carries. "We're very optimistic," Pelini said. Luckily, the Huskers have a bye week on deck. When asked if Abdullah would play at Wisconsin on Nov. 15, Pelini said, "I'm optimistic. I can't say for sure." The coach added Abdullah was not able to return to the game after his injury. "If he could've, he would've," Pelini said. "Ameer's a great player, but he's not Superman."

Nov 2 - 7:54 PM
UCLA junior WR Jordan Payton had six catches for 119 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 17-7 victory against Arizona.

The biggest play of the game was Payton's 70-yard touchdown catch from Brett Hundley with 4:44 left in the third quarter. The school's traded the ball after that, with neither scoring. "Payton's hands are so strong," an NFC GM said last month. Payton has broken out with a career-high 53 receptions for 783 yards and seven touchdowns this season. "His hands are one of his best assets, but he's a pretty complete receiver, runs routes well, and has good speed," NFL.com draft analysts Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks and Charles Davis wrote last month.

Nov 2 - 7:21 PM
Arizona State redshirt junior WR Jaelen Strong had five receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's overtime victory against Utah.

The 6-foot-4, 212 pound redshirt junior is up to 57 receptions for 821 yards and eight touchdowns this year. TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline and Sports Illustrated both reported last month that Strong will jump to the pros early. An NFL scout told SI that Strong can expect to go in the late first- or early second-round. "He’s not a burner," the scout said. "He’s probably 4.53 in the 40, but Marques Colston and all these guys get in the league and do really well. He’s one of those."

Nov 2 - 7:07 PM
Utah junior RB Devontae Booker collected 146 rushing yards on 37 carries in Saturday's 19-16 overtime loss to Arizona State.

Booker also had a short touchdown reception. The 5-foot-11, 203-pound junior has exceeded 100-yards rushing in five straight games. Booker has burst onto the draft radar during this hot stretch. NFL Media analyst Bucky Brooks wrote last week that Booker "is a shifty runner on the perimeter with the speed to run away from defenders on the second level." An NFL scout speaking with Sports Illustrated last month compared Booker to Arian Foster.

Nov 2 - 6:53 PM
Mississippi State junior RB Josh Robinson rushed 19 times for 64 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 17-10 win over Arkansas.

Though the SEC's leading rusher coming into the game was handcuffed as a runner, he found a way to impact the game, catching six passes for a career-high 110 yards. According to ESPN, his 79 yards after the catch in the game were second highest for any SEC running back this season. ESPN also passed along that MSU is averaging a Power 5 conference-best 188.6 rush yards per game inside the tackles. Both QB Dak Prescott and Robinson have run for more than 500 yards and seven touchdowns between the tackles. They join Ameer Abdullah and Melvin Gordon as the only four players who have pulled off that trick so far.

Nov 2 - 6:30 PM
USC junior WR Nelson Agholor caught eight balls for 220 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 44-17 victory against Washington State on Saturday.

That's not all. Before he had even one of those catches, Agholor received a Wazzu punt early in the first quarter and raced untouched to a 65-yard touchdown. That was Agholor's fourth kick return for a TD this year, breaking USC's single-season record. He is on fire right now, recording 100-plus yard receiving games in three straight contests. If he stays hot, don't be surprised if Agholor decides to bolt early for the pros.

Nov 2 - 5:56 PM
Auburn redshirt junior wide receiver Sammie Coates grabbed five passes for 122 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 35-31 victory over Ole Miss.

This is the Sammie Coates we know and love. He's been highly inconsistent this year while struggling with injuries. How inconsistent? Well, between the LSU and Mississippi games, Coates collected nine catches for 266 yards and a pair of touchdowns. In the other six games, Coates had nine catches for 98 yards and no scores. The 6-foot-2, 201-pounder with a 4.36 forty posted 902 yards and seven touchdowns on 42 receptions last season. He has the tools of a first-rounder.

Nov 2 - 4:41 PM

Rotoworld:

Louisville senior WR DeVante Parker earned a +2.7 grade from Pro Football Focus for his performance against FSU.

Parker finished the day with eight catches for 214 yards and continues to be so good at winning at the catch point and creating that sliver of separation. We know he wins in the big game, but he is showing off the small game too (yards after the catch) despite suffering a broken foot that forced him out of seven games. "Parker had an absurd 16 targets for a 45.7% target rate. Was the only receiver on Louisville able to challenge the Florida St. secondary down the field," PFF's Michael Renner writes.

He was benched for almost the whole first half after an early fumble.
costing them any shot of keeping up, offense was awful without him.
The offense has been kind of awful anyway, since they're running a 3rd-string QB out there.

Rotoworld:

ESPN's Steve Muench and Kevin Weidl noted that Stanford junior WR Ty Montgomery "is a threat to make a momentum-shifting play after the catch, on a handoff and in the return game."

Beyond the obvious speed advantage Montgomery holds over most defenders, the analysts also pointed out that enough wiggle to make the first defender miss." They went on to tout that it wasn't just his natural ability which made him dangerous, as "[he] shows above-average patience and vision, making the most of his downfield blocks." Former NFL GM Phil Savage compared Montgomery to Ted Ginn Jr., a comparison which holds its own set of upsides and downsides.

Nov 4 - 9:27 PM
Arizona State offensive coordinator Mike Norvell said that redshirt junior WR Jaelen Strong combines talent with a knowledge of "what [defenders] are being taught to do."

Strong has caught 57 receptions for 821 yards and eight touchdowns this season. The junior said that he "write everything down" when DBs are being coached in practice, saying that "I know if [the opposing DB is] in the right spot at the right time" on game-day because of his observations in practice. While Strong doesn't have blazing speed, he has used his intelligence and precise route running to turn himself into an NFL prospect. Strong is expected to go in the first or second round if he declares for the 2015 draft as analysts think he will.

Nov 4 - 8:41 PM
ESPN's Steve Muench and Kevin Weidl noted that Miami senior WR Phillip Dorsett shows legitimate "high-4.3 speed" when they look at the tape.

Dorsett has caught 19 balls for 572 yards, which averages out to an eye-popping 30.1 YPC. The majority of his yardage came in a 201-yard effort against Arkansas State in mid-September and a 143-yard game against Cincinnati in early October. Muench and Weidl wrote that Dorsett "eats up cushions and blows by defensive backs who don't give his speed the proper respect" and that "he can also turn on the jets after the catch." Dorsett's on the smaller side for a possible NFL WR, the analysts noted of the 5-foot-10, 182-pounder, which leaves them with some durability questions. Dorsett missed five games with a knee injury in 2013.

Source: ESPN Insider
Nov 4 - 8:15 PM
ESPN's Steve Muench and Kevin Weidl noted that FSU senior WR Rashad Greene's slight stature might be a concern for NFL teams.

Greene is listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds. The ESPN analysts said that "long-term durability" might be an issue, citing the fact that Greene's history is already checkered with injuries. They're referring to Greene's concussion earlier this season against Wake Forest and an Achilles injury that kept him out of four games last year. "He's not going to outmuscle defensive backs in jump-ball situations, either, and he can get pushed around coming off the line, which is why he'll have a harder time lining up on the outside at the next level," the analysts wrote. Despite these caveats, they still think he "excels at getting open quickly. He changes directions well, and he's a sneaky hand fighter who uses defenders' momentum against them." This season, Greene has caught 58 balls for 853 yards and four touchdowns.

Source: ESPN Insider
Nov 4 - 7:14 PM
ESPN's Steve Muench and Kevin Weidl noted that USC junior WR Nelson Agholor had "top-end speed."

Agholor has 66 receptions for 863 yards and eight touchdowns this season. The ESPN analysts wrote that if he comes out, the junior is "squarely in Day 2 range." They praised his ability to create after the catch, his smooth route-running and his ability to separate both underneath and vertically. In addition, they wrote that the junior "brings added value as a returner on special teams." Agholor has three career return touchdowns. The reason that Agholor might slip to Day 2 is size. "Agholor is listed at 6-1 and 190 pounds, and must continue to develop strength to hold up in traffic. He also has inconsistent ball skills."

Ameer Abdullah - RB - Cornhuskers

ESPN's Todd McShay wrote that Nebraska senior RB Ameer Abdullah's "violent jump-cut" is crucial in making defenders miss.

McShay wrote that "[Abdullah] makes defenders miss in the hole with his violent jump-cut and ability to mix speeds, and he has excellent acceleration and top-end speed." Abdullah isn't the largest running back at just 5-foot-9, 190 pounds, and McShay noted that he "doesn't produce much yardage after contact as a result" of his size. Even with the caveat, Abdullah "displays very good effort and excellent vision to anticipate and find seams between the tackles and read cutback lanes." This season, Abdullah's averaging 6.7 YPC. He projects to the second or third round in our eyes.

Rotoworld:

Melvin Gordon - RB - Badgers

ESPN.com's Mel Kiper Jr. wrote that health is "the biggest key at this point" for Wisconsin redshirt junior RB Melvin Gordon III.

Kiper's concern for Gordon mainly revolves around the junior's workload. This season, he's rushed 173 times for 1,296 yards. Workload questions aside, Kiper wrote that "Gordon is an easy accelerator, and he cuts with explosiveness and little wasted motion," evidenced by his sterling 7.5 YPC average. "He will miss a hole here and there in search of a bigger lane," noted Kiper, "but he has good vision, isn't afraid of contact and has breakaway speed when he gets in space." It's possible that Gordon's the second running back off the board behind Georgia's Todd Gurley.

Rotoworld:

TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline notes that "several sources" informed him that "the odds are high" that USC junior WR Nelson Agholor enters the draft.
"Since last week’s report several sources inform me the odds are high USC receiver Nelson Agholor enters the draft. In fact several believe Agholor and teammate Leonard Williams will sign as a package deal to the same agent," Pauline wrote. Last week the the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Agholor caught eight balls for 220 yards and a pair of touchdowns in USC's 44-17 win over Washington State on Saturday. The USC prospect has recorded 100-plus yards receiving in three straight games.

Wow the first round is 11 deep it looks like.

RB- Gurley

RB- Gordon

WR- Cooper

WR- DGB

WR/TE- Funchess

WR- White

WR- Parker

WR- Strong

RB- Abdullah

QB- Mariota

QB- Winston

Wow this class seems deep and top heavy.

These QBs do nothing for me - unless they are Luck-caliber, there's no point using a first-rounder.

And I'm not nearly as high on DGB and White as a lot of people seem to be. That drops this class down some. Of course, there are some guys I'm not aware of yet that will add some depth (hopefully).

RB's Mike Davis, Jay Ajayi, TJ Yeldon, Duke Johnson also enhance this class quite a bit. Enter them in the last draft class and they look much better.

I was impressed by him vs. Nebraska. He's not special, but most NFL RBs aren't special either. He could certainly produce if given a shot.

Some people seem to think Gio Bernard is special. I think if he stays healthy Duke Johnson could definitely be a better Gio.

That seems to be the issue with a lot of rbs that weigh less than 215.

Jaelen Strong - WR - Sun Devils

NFL.com's Bucky Brooks observed that Arizona State redshirt junior WR Jaelen Strong is an "athletic guy" who fit the profile of a No. 1 receiver.

"[He] is big-bodied," Brooks wrote of the 6-foot-4, 212-pound Strong. Brooks noted that the junior "has a lot of the traits [NFL teams] look for" in a top receiving pick. Brooks has been high on Strong for a while, as back in October he wrote that "with the NFL trending toward 'big' receivers on the perimeter, Strong's standout performance [against USC] showcased his potential at the next level." Rotoworld's Josh Norris has Strong ranked as the eighth wide receiver on his board, behind USC's Nelson Agholor and ahead of Auburn's Sammie Coates. The junior's seen as a borderline first-round pick.

Mike Davis was considered widely top 3 RB this offseason. What are people's thoughts now?
Gurley and Gordon are on a tier by themselves.

I think it depends on preference for the #3 spot for NFL teams and FF owners.

Mike Davis is 5'9 223, he can do everything on the football field. Good hands. GL carries, good vision, tough guy. He's just not an outstanding athlete and has shown to be injury prone.

Tevin Coleman 6'1 210, he reminds me of Demarco Murray. Very North/South type of player with explosive ability and good speed. Not great laterally.

Ameer Abdullah 5'9 195, amazing agility and vision. Decent speed, but not great. Some will question his size and ability to be a 3 down back.

TJ Yeldon 6'2 221, physical player with good overall athletic ability and hands. However, he's not great at any one thing and some will point to his OL as to his success.

Jay Ajayi 6'0 216, good overall athlete with extreme determination to get every yard. Not great vision and has fumbling issues.

Duke Johnson 5'9 206, great acceleration and vision. However, doesn't have great strength or agility. Good hands too. Some will question his size and durability.

The next tier down

Karlos Williams

Josh Robinson

Shock Linwood

Cameron Artis-Payne

Winston is a complete idiot. No way I would waste anything higher than a third round pick drafting this kid for any of my teams (and I'm NOT even looking his way redraft unless he is on waivers). Has the moral compass of Ryan Leaf x 10. Pass.

If you believe every story, sure. If everything that's come out about him is 100% true then you almost have to pass on him with any premium pick, as an NFL team.

But he's a special QB on the field. The way he processes information and can dissect a defense is special. Just knows where to go with the ball although he tries to force it sometimes. A little bit of mechanics cleanup and he'll be a hell of an on-field prospect.

The off-field stuff is going to be annoying to people who just want to talk about football, and it's not going to go away during the pre-draft process.
