I'll be taking a zero at QB in week 5 if Haas can't come back. My 24 man roster is also down to 22 with Robinson and Davis on IR...

Team 100066

Can't wait to see the simulator when I'm in near the bottom for week 5.

Strange scoring distribution at the cut line. My final number is still 113.8, but I wouldn't be surprised if it could reach as low as 113.65 once scoring errors are reconciled.Late surge by Rodgers pushed me through, finished at 132.1. On to next week, where I must manage to survive a zero QB week with Rodger's bye and Leftwich benched. NOT a good thing to look forward to, hoping my studs kick it up a notch this week...
by the skin of your teeth?

Sorry, poorly worded, happens when I'm tired... that was a late night cut projection based on my data. My score was 131.2. Projection turned out to be right on though !

I would give you a better than average shot at survival. You are covered at QB better than a lot of people. I have 1/3rd of my cap on Bye this week, not good planning. But a lot of people are in the same boat with GB and NO. If Ryan, Williams, Rice, Gage, Burleson have good weeks, I think you will be ok. At least you have guys who will be out on the field most the game. I am guessing there might be a couple hundred teams with Brees or Rogers taking a zero at QB because of numerous injuries.
I am concerned with Matt Ryan and the Falcons facing SF this week. You are right...IF that group has decent weeks I am okay. I am just not overly confident. 40.8% of my cap on bye.Still....Here's Hoping :)

I'm surprised my team is still alive after playing with no quarterback this week (hass hurt, leftwich benched, ryan on bye). Jermichael had a big game at just the right time for me.
Congrats. I have the same three QB's and missed the cut by one point. Booooooooo!

I'm going to need huge days from Rodgers, Berrian and GB D as I'm 40 points shy of the cut line, (of course, those huge days will only up the cut line).Ryan on bye and Hass hurt, my RBs sucked even worse than I initially thought, and my WRs have just been horrid. Likely my last week in the contest.
Needed 40, got 58, sweeeeet! More evidence that the three QB theory is solid, along with three Ds.
Which, consequently, means Organized Chaos gets another 2 bucks so I can keep up with my team on the fantasy star.
That $2 is a bargain considering how much work he's put into that.

Love this contest every year. I also love TFS live scoring.

I'm wondering if it's ever been suggested to give immunity to the top xxx scores each week for the next week?

Just a thought - maybe except for the final cuts leading to the playoffs the top 10 scores each week could receive immunity the following week?

Just a little extra something to add excitement to the weekly stats.

The teams on bye this week have the highest PPG scoring average than any other bye week grouping.

Does this mean we should expect a lower cut off with the players from the week 5 bye teams not contributing?

I was sure I would have been eliminated by now.

SF and Finley get my game ball this week.

Week 5.... I will be relying heavily on Matt Ryan and Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch could be a difference maker if he picks it up. I don't suppose many own him.

To live another week, this is addicting.

I knew I had a middle-of-the-pack team once people started posting their superior rosters after the deadline.

I knew I had a dead team with Warner on bye and both backups either injured or benched and my top-3 WRs on byes or injured.

At least I outlasted some of the big guns on the FBG staff.

Good luck to the survivors.

that's just ugly. can't say i see this squad going much further.

Clearly something wrong.
Yes, this is a bug. The program (written a few years ago) was hard-wired for 22-man rosters. I forgot to update it for the new flex roster size and just didn't notice til now. I'll get on that sometime this week.
Imagine how FUBAR your programming is going to get if you go total flex next year. I'm already cringing at how it is going to effect what I do....

I like the stategy you used with your team, but i dont think it is the powerhouse you make it out to be. If A.Peterson gets injuried, you are in business, otherwise I dont think you have enough firepower to get the top spot. Nice team though. The $12 on C. Henry might be the pick that costs you. Your team is outperforming mine, but I am not sure I would trade my team for yours. My team is 100616. Time will tell. Good luck, and props to your stategy.

Despite my 93% probability of advancing in the Turk's first sim run, I'm out with 108 points. A month ago, I didn't think Week 4 would be an issue, with only 1 player (DWill) on bye. Injuries to Hass, Robinson, FWP, & Davis, the same week as subpar performances from Romo, Lynch, Olsen, Daniels, Randy Moss, Colston & Burleson were too much for Britt and Mason to overcome. The painful part is that I had Ben and Garrard as my QB's through about 900 roster changes, then decided to "upgrade" to Romo and Hass at the last minute. :lmao:
Romo is the kiss of death. I am still alive, but I regret choosing him. My final choices for a stud QB came down to Romo, Cutler and Rivers. Picking Romo might be my demise.

I'd fell a lot better if I hadn't lost Robinson and James Davis...bad luck there. I still think I have a shot if I can get a few situations to work out at RB. I need Hassel to return so Carlson and he can start contributing again.

True about the bad luck with Robinson and Davis, tho I think Davis was a bust whether he got hurt or not. I wish I didnt buy into the hype of Davis. McCoy might end up being your wildcard. Your QB selection was interesting, looks like Palmer is in for a good year. The Robinson injury I think helps your team, your team is not dependent on WR's. The Robinson injury will hurt the teams that paid a high price on RB's and QB's and filled the WR hole with some cheap selections hoping to get lucky. As long as Deangelo Williams produces, I think you coast in the coming weeks. Like I said, I like the stategy you used. I dont think you have the firepower at the end, but you atleast gave yourself a chance. My team has a glaring hole at RB and now at QB. I dont exactly like my chances at this point. Anything can happen at the end. Who knows, Hasselbeck might throw 4 TD's to Carlson in the money round.

What do you guys think of my team's chances? Still alive somehow, despite only having Hill and McNabb at QB, and no big name studs at RB. But McFadden going down for a few weeks could give my team a boost having M.Bush.

McNabb, Hill

Leon, Felix, M.Bush, Maroney, Scott, C.Brown, James Davis :( Edge

Calvin, Randy, Colston, Mason, Harvin, Schilens

Carleson, Olsen, Keller

Hauschka, Gould, Reed

Cowboys, Skins

Obviously my WRs and TEs have been carrying me.

J.Davis was fools gold, but was hard to pass on for many contest teams after what rooks did last year. Cant fault people for taking a swing on him.On a separate note, why does it look like Palmer is in for a good year? He is a bit disapointing to me (in a yahoo redraft) as he's not throwing multiple TDs against lackluster opponents. Nice win vs PITT though week 3. Im nervous on Palmer seeing he has two stints vs. Ravens and one more vs. PITT.

Can't believe I got past week 4 with this lineup. Finley truely saved my ###.

Aaron Rodgers owners are going to be the key to this coming week's cut from 7250 to 6100.

Rosters Eliminated in WK5: 1150

Aaron Rodgers owners still alive: 2722

AR + Leftwich: 531

AR + Hasselbeck: 291

AR + Stafford: 158

AR + Pennington: 122

AR + Quinn: 109

AR + Bulger: 47

TOTAL: 1258

There are 125 Rosters with Rodgers + a combo of 2 of those QBs

Granted, many of those 1258 have a 3rd QB, but it's going to be very interesting to see Rodgers survival rate for Week 5

I wouldnt worry about Palmer playing the Ravens or Pitt. As a matter of fact Palmer usually plays well against Pitt. This is just my opinion, but it looks like Palmer might finally be on track. Ochocinco is playing well and Coles should get more and more involved which will benifit Palmer. Because Palmer played like crap last year, I am overstating his value this year. But with a decent running game there offense might have some firepower.

AR + Sanchez here. I'm hoping for a Braylon Edwards start on MNF to pull me through! Can you indicate of that 1258 how many don't have a 3rd QB vs those that do? It may be simple enough to assume those with only 1 QB may be done which will help predict that cut line.

I'm a Rodgers and Flacco owner. There's 230 ish teams with this combo. Flacco's been doing so well, I think we have a good chance of making it through.

I am one of the 230. Have Flacco, Mason and Heap this week and need them all to do something because its my biggest bye loss. Lose Rodgers, VJAX, Colston, Olsen, Saints D.

Uh, hmmmm. OK. Here is the Week 5 sim

88 teams with 100% survival probability? Let me just state for the record that, just on principle, no team has a 100% chance of survival. But, as was discussed last week, I'm OK with the sim spitting out an occasional 100.

Honestly I'm not quite sure what to make of this. It will be a very low cut because tons of heavily-owned players are on bye this week, so I guess teams with no significant bye/injury troubles are sitting pretty. But not that pretty. I'm going to go bug-hunting.

Pretty sure I'm out this week. No QB and Gore-Grant-FWP-Davis-VJackson-Robinson-Olsen all out this week. I'm going to need bulls eyes from all of my active guys.

I did this pretty quick, so I'm not 100% sure I'm right, but....

I count 758 teams this week with no QB who is projected to score points.

Well I love the 99.8% chance, but not feeling so good this week. I'll trust in the SIM and hope it stays accurate.

# 100561

My survival chance has gone from 48%->72%->97%, thanks to Lynch and Tomlinson coming back on line and Jerome Harrison starting to produce. I'm still down an important receiver in A.Gonzalez, but my "underrated old guy" receiver strategy is working out for now (Driver/Mason). Need E.Manning to play with Hasselbeck and Leftwich as my other two QBs.

Used every week:

Todd Heap

Chad Ochocinco

Not used:

Edgerrin James

Chris Brown

A.Gonzalez

I would say 100% is quite possible. If you have the same key players as many other teams, but they have injury and bye week issues, there is no way they can overcome you. You will have players scoring something while many people have 6 or so people putting up zeros.

Part of the downfall of the 2 QB theory. Half the QB's miss games in any given season. Throw in a bye week, and there is a good probability you have a zero week at QB. Lots of Rogers, Rivers, and Brees owners who did not properly protect themselves. I still have Shaun Hill playing....

Im about to verify that doug. I have a pretty easy/explicit way to check that....and I am one of the teams without a QB. This gives me (temporary) HOPE! :lmao:

I'm getting 753, but I'm not 100% sure I have all the "0" QB's in my search. If you add on Hasselbeck to the mix :-)crossesfingers:) the number jumps to 1069. Definitely a better week than most to be sporting a zero at QB, and it will still take a toll on the Rodgers owners. 738/1069 or 523/753 teams in this predicament own Rodgers.

Yup, I knew over a week ago that I would put up a zero at QB this week (Rodgers/Pennington/Leftwich), and honestly haven't been worried about it. As it turns out, I'm in the top 40% of the sim teams even with that zero. Hopefully we can peel off some Rodgers owners who haven't been as lucky with the rest of their squad.

after 4 games, my team has averaged 143 pts a week. Does that suck?
If you still are alive that all that matters. As long as you haven't lost a lot of players to injuries or other situations. That is a bigger concern, and if you can keep scoring and have the fire power to put up big numbers late.
