If this is a double entendre, I totally concur. If you've never cleaned your disposal before, the payoff should come around the 20-30 second mark after starting water/disposal.

Gdamnit you guys! I'm asking you to use free frozen water and 2 mins of your time. Geezus H.
Because technically you're supposed to squeeze some juice in the drain. So the half's just help that processi not saying dont do the ice cube thing, im saying why bother cutting the lemon in half when its going to be shreded anyways.

Pretty sure those won't help clean the garbage disposal.lets talk about microwave ovens!
You got 3 lbs of those sitting around?I got cubes of frozen lemonade that I use to chill my lemonade without watering it down. Can I use those cubes in the disposal?
No. I have 2 bags of lemons that I can cut up and put in to supplement the ice. Will that work? You got 3 lbs of those sitting around?

When life gives you lemons, clean your garbage disposal.I am confused. Do we put the the lemons or ice in first? Would I only have to use half as much ice if I cut the ice cubes in half first?
Did you forget an anniversary or birthday?dishwasher seems to be making an odd noise now too
Break the disposal blades? They tell you to actually put ice down the disposal to help sharpen the blades.
was wondering when someone was going to point this out.shuke said:Garbage disposals don't have blades or anything else that needs to be sharpened.
live near Najeh Davenport by chance....?And this isn't an issue with smell. Mine didn't smell at all. I just saw this trick and was curious so I decided to try it. Looked like someone took a huge diarrhea dump in my sink for a couple minutes.
Lemons will just mask the smell. This actually cleans the brown sludge out of the disposal and pipes. I'm guessing something to do with the pressure caused by the cold, water and lack of air....it pushes all the sludge to the surface and then almost vacuums it all back down when that air seal is broken.
I tried it and it worked. I also bought a meat freezer for all my jeans. Thanks GB!Has nobody really tried this with success yet?!? I didn't realize how many Ice Conservatives we have here.

Lol, it's not about having issues. I didn't have any issues or smells either, but what creeped to the surface was.....surprising.I just throw some dish soap down there every now and again. No issues. But we have sink “traps” to help keep food from going down there in the first place.
Glad to see someone who is as contentious about shower grout as meIf you pee in the drain once a week the ammonia takes care of everything
