Snowmageddon 2022 (5 Viewers)

Calling for 4-5ft now. Seems like this will go down as the worst storm in Buffalo history assuming this continues through tomorrow as they are predicting. We've seen higher snow totals but with the wind etc this is pretty crazy.

Icemaggedon in the Seattle area! A warmer plane of air slid in between freezing layers so we are getting about 6 hours of freezing rain until later this afternoon.

Good timing with the holiday break, most peeps at home already. This happened years ago and it was like Mad Max Fury Roads on the freeways with cars abandoned and people just walking down the interstate.

Did completely close the airport at the moment though so can’t imagine the 5th level of hell that must be right now.

We live on a big hill and had three cars abandoned right in front of our house by around 10 this morning. We’re at an T intersection and people tried to turn from the flatter street into the hill. Dummies. Two groups are back out there now that the weather is warming, trying to rescue them.
People lose their minds in this weather

The Bills play the Bears today and nobody in Buffalo may be able to see the game at this rate. Buffalo has had some insane weather over the last month.

My BIL and his son are volunteer firemen out that way. Both got snowplow rides to their stations. Both stations have had a number or rescue calls and now hosting ~150 rescues between them. I can't get a good read on how much snow has *fallen*, but it seems the drifting is off the hook. Some places are bare ground, other places haver massive snow drifts. All of the in-law house visiting/etc for this weekend has been called off. They are just bunkering where they are now.
