Looking for a decent pair of noise-canceling headphones that aren't too pricey, say $125 max. Any suggestions among the community?
Did you ever try the ear bud version? Stores don't let you try them out, for good reason, but I'd be interested to hear a comparison.I have the latest over the ear Bose and they are amazing. They completely blow away the older version I had. They are pricey like Mario said, but I can't believe how good they sound in a plane. It's really stunning.
I have the same ones for over 2 years. Been great.I have a pair of audio-technicas that were that much. Great noise reduction, good sound quality. Only issue is people can hear it pretty easily. Doesn't really matter on a plane though.
Have used them flying all over the world for about 5 yrs with no issues. Takes a single AAA battery that lasts about 50hrs.

Wireless is cool, but if sound quality is a concern, Bluetooth is not the answer. You lose sound quality. You gotta go wireless at this point... Within two years, wires for headphones will be obsolete. Going to make it pricier, but worth it.
FTR I have Beats Studio Wireless headphones. Overpriced for sure, but I still like them.
My wife has those and likes them. But the last time we travelled together she tried mine and said mine worked better. I haven't tried hers.Did you ever try the ear bud version? I would not mind either but I don't fly often enough to get them for that purpose... the over the ear ones. I have these - the non air canceling in-ear buds. Love them. Easily the best fitting ear buds I've seen in that $100 price range. I wear them every day for hours.Did you ever try the ear bud version? A little better imo.Ilov80s said:Pretty much any over the ear closed back headphones are going to cancel out the noise around you. These Audio Technica are the best headphones for the money. They are better than headphones that sell for triple the price and might be the most common headphone in professional recording studios. http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U
