My guess is that if any one suffers that it would Godwin.  But the departure of Humphries and Jackson opens up a lot of targets.  Most teams rotate their lesser receivers so their targets get diluted.  Evans, Godwin, and Howard will all get 80%+ snaps.  5,000+ yards with 30-40 touchdowns is a big pie to share between three.  Interceptions won't hurt that pie.  Interceptions might put them in a position where they have to pass more.

I'm really counting on Godwin and Howard this year, but agree.  In the FBG contest I had Godwin in there, but then realized I could get the real deal stud on that team for only $5 more.

He didn’t hit his girlfriend. He didn’t hit his child. He didn’t do anything illegal. He froze his feet, didn’t want to wear a helmet, and talked back to the GM. Not sure that’s top 10.

Ok, so now this goes one of two ways....

1) he tows the line, has a nice season, and a good shot at a SB.

2) once the honeymoon is over, he falls back on his diva antics, and it all falls apart for him.

I have no idea how it will go, but he's not going to be targeted like he was in Pitt.....the Pats adjust their gameplan week to week more than any other team.....and Brady, at this stage in his career, is not what he was when he had Randy Moss.  Does anyone really see AB as a teammate who will sacrifice his own glory for the big picture??

It just feels like Brown and the Patriots had this in the works since last year.  They probably had a verbal agreement that if Brown could become available, the Pats would sign him.  If Brown stops the crazy, I am correct.

Fully agree with you. No way a $15 million deal gets done 1-2 hours into his TOTALLY UNEXPECTED free agency. Why would he sign a 1-yr deal so quickly? Why not see if some other franchise would go all out, multi-year... maybe even another contender. This was pre-negotiated, ready to sign, no doubt. All that was needed was an complete release by OAK and his agent made a beeline to BB.

This is true. Winning alone probably won’t be enough. But it’ll certainly help. I think most agree they never saw it working in Oakland.

Nothing AB has done compares to the transgressions of Tyreek Hill, and he was just awarded a massive extension.  We’ll see.  If anyone can keep Antonio Brown’s behavior within certain bounds though it’s BB.  And if he cant the Pats likely wont hesitate to cut him and bite the bullet on his signing bonus.

He did do something illegal,  he recorded a conversation without someones knowledge. And apparently since the person he spewed a racial epithet at is white he gets a pass.

If you are into conspiracy theories theres a report out that apparently Tom Brady has been recruiting AB to the Pats for several weeks and AB was never pleased about going to the Raiders. Therefor the Pats tampered without really tampering and AB got himself intentionally released so he could go to NE. I know I know but crazier things have happened and I wouldn't put it past the Evil Empire either.

Am curious as to the language in the contract that might protect the Pats in the event we get to "AB being AB".  (Manny Ramirez reference.)

Not to turn this into political or racial thread or hijack it but are you surprised? Working in retail I've encountered a ton of black people either ex employees or customers who are if not the same but worst racist then some of the white people Ive associated with or taken care of customer wise. The problem is people don't like calling it out because they don't want to be labeled a racist themselves. Had this been Big Ben dropping the N Bomb on Mike Tomlin we'd have people wanting Ben's career over and banned from the NFL. I had a black co worker who was outline racist. One of my other co workers also black was so upset and embarrassed by this persons behavior she apologized to her super visor and most of the store employees she was so offended by what he said. 

I mentioned yesterday in this thread I went to school with Mike's daughter and have met Mike on several occasions and it was only a matter of time before AB would get cut. Mayock could've literally and figuratively kicked AB's ### if he wanted to. AB makes what TO do look amateur hour compared to what he's done. I'd take TO with all his bull#### in his prime over AB anyway right now. No questions asked.

Like I said if this was a white player who called a black coach a racial slur people would be wanting his job an banned from the league forever. 

 
So I am gone all day and turn on the TV and hear them talking about the new WR that they picked up from the Raiders. I am thinking maybe Crabtree was cut by the Cardinals but then they started talking about the Patriots not putting up with his the WRs antics and I put 2 and 2 together. Wow! 

I hope he fails miserably! After quitting on the Steelers last year when they were trying to make the playoffs and then pulling this garbage i have lost all respect for him and don't care how talented he is.

Yep, some black dudes will use the race card.  The worst black dudes will use the race card every time something is their fault.  Or how about we talk about the impact and effect of 400 years of institutionized racism?  But maybe we could just talk about football?

We are talking football. A black football player was racist to their white GM but everyone seems to want to tip toe past it.

No F way he sjould be hired by any NFL team for more then half what Raiders were gonna pay him. Disgraceful, and I hope it bites them more then I've ever hoped anything in the NFL. SOB should be sitting 4 games minimum

 
And honestly the NFL fines players for using racial slurs so AB should be at least fined for that if he wasn't already. This guy didn't break the law or hit a girl or beat a child but the dude is a piece of garbage non the less.

I won't say I wish injury on the guy but if he tore his ACL and was out for the year just know I'm not going to have sympathy for the guy like I might say a guy like some other guys. 

screaming racist epithets is an automatic firing at my job and Union won't even defend you. Its one of those you do it you are gone no matter what. I just don't get why the media is giving this clown a pass for being a clown yet we have 24/7 non stop coverage on Riley Cooper a few seasons ago and then we have players who use the word he did constantly and as daily as "hi" and "goodbye" saying they were offended who are a hypocrites. Really don't get why this clown gets a pass for this

While I agree that the league should have disciplined Brown for allegedly threatening his boss with violence and calling him a minor slur, but you have to understand the difference between a white man calling a black man the n-word (which is the most offensive word you can call a black man) and a black man calling a white man a cracker, right? 

 
People are on to the game. Brown wanted to go to NE from the get go. Pitt would never trade him there. He let them trade him wherever and started acting super crazy. Like completely mental. To the point that they would have no recourse but to release him. Why else does he have a deal ready to sign within hours of his release.

A racial slur is a racial slur. He SHOULDN'T get a pass just because he's black. Racism CAN and often DOES go both ways, and should never be tolerated or excused regardless of the direction. Not sure what he said qualifies as "minor" either.

Again I'm not debating one isn't worse then the other. both are bad regardless. If my black co worker called someone a cracker they'd be terminated no questions asked escorted out of the building turn in your badge. I'm more so debating why blacks get a pass in these issues when they are the guilty party. Brown should be punished no different. Didn't Kapernick get fined for dropping the N Bomb or calling someone a f@g a few yrs ago? The league looks like hypocrites if they don't discipline Brown.

If I was the GM After he said that to me know what my response to him is? Ok thats fine how you feel. BTW you're guaranteed money is terminated for conduct detrimental from the team and you are now unemployed. Get the #### off my field and pack your #### and leave. if you won't go willingly our friendly Security team at the facility can help you out.
