Just as a fan of an NFL team with a possible need at WR, I'm very intrigued by what I've heard about him. The small school scout who has appeared on the NFL Draft Countdown podcast a couple times keeps saying he thinks he's better than Alshon Jeffery. He's also said he's the best small school guy he has scouted since Randy Moss. He's definitely a guy to keep an eye on as he sounds like he's likely to be a 2nd rounder and could even move up.Only video I can find:

Didn't know they held the combine already. 40 times are overrated when you can go up and get the ball. What's their verticals?I'll help you out and provide some balance to the thread.Quick's 40 time: 4.63Alshon Jeffrey: 229 lbs, 4.56 40 timeMoss: 4.25 40 timeAJ Green: 4.48 40 timeBarden: 6-6, 229, 4.55 40 timeSHUT UP!
He's terrible. As far as I've seen, he isn't related to Mike. He's definitely not Mike's son.First thing I thought too.Any relation to Mike?
What's your worst case scenario on this guy?Only video I can find:

Same ones who compare Doug Martin to Ray Rice.Yes, I'm sure the majority of NFL scouts have no idea what proper catching technique is.
spot on, except that Ramses wasn't quite as raw. Saw both of these guys at the Senior Bowl (Quick this year, Ramses a few years ago)What's ironic about Quick (former BBall player) is that he doesn't know how to use his frame to 'box out' defenders. That's natural for most hoopsters. NOT impressed with him at all in person. Sloppy in and out of his breaks, doesn't have good 'my ball' mentality, lets too many passes get into his body. I'll pass in dynasty leagues.Reminds me of Ramses Barden.Meh.
Paul Hubbard type career.Only video I can find:
Half the draftniks like Quick, and the other half don't. Who are you going to trust? The ones who make the easy and lazy comparisons of every short, muscular, compact RB to Ray Rice, or every short, quick, shifty white WR to Wes Welker? I want to listen to the ones who dig deeper for a better comparison and those who have very strong opinions on a player one way or the other. For example, another poor comparison I've read is Isaiah Pead to Ahmad Bradshaw and Arian Foster. And these coming from those who actually get paid for their work.I'll continue to call out the "Doug Martin = Ray Rice" comparisons. Feel free to call out what you disagree with.I see that comparison pretty easily. What's your point? When you're defending your mancrush so hard that you basically resort to "whatever, those professional NFL scouts don't know what proper catching technique is anyways"....it's gonna get called out. Don't try to change the subject.
I didn't say that, but the talk has to concern you. I don't think there was one positive note on him that I've seen from the Senior Bowl. I'm curious to see how he looks at the combine, but it's not promising. He looks the part, but it's sounding like he may not play the part. Let's see what he continues to show, if anything. And Marvin Jones should be a 1st rounder right?Word has it scouts don't know the difference between "body catching" and "letting the ball get into his body". The guys that liked Quick before the Senior Bowl haven't changed their minds on him. Same goes for those who didn't like him. There are positive reviews out there if you look hard enough. Even Mayock included him on his list of "improved his stock".I didn't say that, but the talk has to concern you. I don't think there was one positive note on him that I've seen from the Senior Bowl. Since you apparently have read the positive notes, I think this would be a good thread to post that info. The only thing from Mayock I heard/read was that he said "he made himself a lot of money". I didn't see anything specifying way. Quick is a physically gifted guy and measured well. Is that why Mayock said that? I honestly don't know. I'd be curious to see if there was something else Mayock saw because he's obviously a well respected scout given the attention/GM rumblings around the league. That's the only positive info I saw out of the Senior Bowl on Quick (measureables). Again, I think this is a great place to post info discussing the recent positive info on Quick considering much of the negative press out there recently on Quick. The guys that liked Quick before the Senior Bowl haven't changed their minds on him. I liked Quick on film, but have serious doubt about him after seeing him in person at the Senior Bowl. Guys like him are fairly common in the NFL. BTW, Doug Martin compared himself to Ray Rice, MJD, and Jonathan Stewart when I interviewed him at the Senior Bowl so add him to your list. The guys that liked Quick before the Senior Bowl haven't changed their minds on him. Quick, who measured in at a chiseled 6-3 (and a 1/2) and 222 pounds Monday morning was the early star among receivers. Though not sudden off the line of scrimmage, his long-strides help him to quickly eat up the cushion and he showed terrific hand-eye coordination making several impressive catches out of some poor throws. Quick, in fact, arguably made the catch of the day when he snatched a quick out thrown high and wide by Moore. Quick used every bit of his height and long arms to pull the ball down while dragging both feet in bounds to secure the catch. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2012/1/25/2732695/2012-senior-bowl-practice-report-north-team-day-3Brian Quick, the wide receiver from Appalachian State, has caught the eye of a lot of scouts and looked much better on Tuesday than he did on Monday, but you can tell he's still a bit overwhelmed with the step up in competition. He still struggled catching the football and isn't very quick (no pun intended), but he builds speed and has great size. Quick admitted after practice yesterday to reporters that he's never really had a wide receivers coach before, but he has that upside teams like.
http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/2012/01/senior-bowl-day-1-north-practice-report.htmlAppalachian State's Brian Quick was hyped heading into the week and was very disappointing in the first two practices, but really showed himself well in practice on Wednesday morning. Quick isn't fast off the line of scrimmage, but he's big and strong enough to beat press coverage and runs routes well. He began catching the ball more with his hands today rather than letting everything into his body.
http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/2012/01/senior-bowl-day-3-north-practice-offense-report.htmlBrian Quick exhibited very good speed beating Asa Jackson deep for a touchdown pass. Quick is a big WR and runs very well for his size, I was impressed with his overall game.
http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/2012/01/senior-bowl-live-offense.html/2App St. WR Brian Quick had a much better day than yesterday and seems to be adjusting to the level of competition
#88 Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State
Quick had a rough first day of practice, but has rebounded since then to show that he’s worthy of being in Mobile.
http://www.draftdaddy.com/blog/nfldraft.htmLike many small school stars Appalachian St. WR Brian Quick has his fair share of ups and downs in his first taste of elite competition. Quick made a handful of nice plays and caught the ball effortlessly at times but also let a couple of passes that were high but catchable go through his hands. Quick got a little frustrated at times and began to press but it’s clear that he belongs on the field talent-wise and should settle down as the week progresses. The kid definitely looks the part of a stud wideout.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1043477-senior-bowl-2012-10-players-shooting-up-the-draft-boardsAppalachian State wide out Brian Quick is raw in route running but displayed sure hands and the ability to climb the ladder and bring down high passes. Coaches undoubtedly see a lot of potential to mold.

Didn't make a lot of plays today, but had the opportunity to if the quarterbacks had been on spot. I made a point in watching Quick's route running throughout the game, even rewinding my DVR to catch certain aspects of his game.
One thing is for sure. Quick already has an NFL-ready technique on the outside and gains separation on a consistent basis about five-to-six yards off the line of scrimmage.
I am going to want to see how he performs against press coverage, but right now I would conclude that Quick has second-round value.
http://www.drafttek.com/Senior-Bowl-Report.aspBrian Quick (WR) was very impressive "on hoof". Tall with long arms and showed an ability to catch the ball with a defender hanging all over him. Snatched the ball away from his body and did a nice job of using his size to his advantage. I will be paying closer attention to him tomorrow. Quick has caught the eye of a lot of scouts and looked much better on Tuesday than he did on Monday, but you can tell he's still a bit overwhelmed with the step up in competition. http://fanspeak.com/nfldraft/2012/01/24/senior-bowl-day-two-north-practice-quick-thoughts/2) One of the biggest issues with so many people reporting from an event like the Senior Bowl, is the preconceived notions everyone came with to Mobile, AL. While many have been down on Brian Quick (WR Appalachian State), I have seen a good (yet very raw) receiver prospect. Quick is at his best when he's either running a nine-route or using his size to shield the defender on a short-yardage slant. Those are the basic building blocks to a solid big receiver and one NFL teams should look to draft in the middle rounds.
http://fanspeak.com/nfldraft/2012/01/25/2012-senior-bowl-north-team-practice-report-wednesday/Brian Quick was really impressive today, just a fantastic athlete. He shows great strength in muscling for the ball. He needs to get cleaner breaks and sometimes has an extra step in there, but overall I thought he showed the speed and size to develop into a number 1 down the road.
Wide receiver Brian Quick, App. State: Quick is really using his size and strength to his advantage. He’s muscling DB’s for the ball and winning most of his battles. He’s got big strong hands, that have been pretty much a sure thing this week. Quick also showed some nice deep speed in a special teams drill chasing down the very fast Patrick Edwards.
Plus, Quick is a great name for a WR. It's like a LB named Tackle or a CB named Jammer.Any relation to Mike?
That's pretty bad.Last time this thread was up, I asked and got back "worse than Barden" so...
NYG, usually inactive for gamedays (including the SB)What ever happened to Ramses anyway?
Brian "Not So" Quick?8 on the wonderlic. WTF?
