Soon the Rams are very likely to hire Dave McGinnis as assistant head coach and both of Fisher's sons. They coach in Detroit and New Orleans now. They are beneath the coordinator level and still working their way up the ladder.

So not going to list the Eagles and their search for a new secondary coach? That was a huge change for them.

We generally keep this thread to the coordinator level and higher, in terms of the pinned first topic. But by all means people can feel free to discuss any and all other coaching changes of relevance. We make note of many of them in the annual article for the site.

McGinnis inked

Sando from ESPN

The St. Louis Rams will not lose games in 2012 for a lack of experienced coaches.

Dave McGinnis' expected addition as assistant head coach gives the team another assistant with head coaching experience. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is the other.

Both McGinnis, 60, and Williams, 53, have coached extensively under new Rams coach Jeff Fisher and in the NFL overall.

Fisher's defensive staff should fit together seamlessly.

The team announced the hiring of Williams and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. McGinnis coached linebackers for the Chicago Bears under Buddy Ryan after Fisher played for the team. He coached under Vince Tobin with Arizona before becoming the Cardinals' head coach from 2000-03, when the team posted a 17-40 record.

Hiring Fisher, a veteran of 16 full NFL seasons as a head coach, showed the Rams valued experience after struggling under first-time head coaches recently. Williams and McGinnis add more seasoning to the staff.

One thing about McGinnis: I've never heard anyone say anything negative about him as a person. To the contrary, people who have worked with him go out of their way to say how much they respect him. It happened again Monday when I spoke with a former Titans employee and McGinnis' expected hiring came up.

Looks like the major coaching/management carousel questions have ended, with only the Bucs needing a defensive coordinator. All the other head coach/coordinator and GM positions have been filled.

Some initial thoughts:

*** You never know until you know

*** That said, I wouldn't want to be a Chiefs fan right about now

*** The Bucs have to consider themselves lucky to have Butch Davis onboard as a senior adviser, but he won't be on the field for game day

*** Greg Manusky continues to land coordinator gigs every year in spite of being fired for underperforming at every spot

*** The Steelers surprisingly went outside the organization to replace Arians, while the Packers unsurprisingly did not

*** Greg Knapp returns to an OC job he had once before, admittedly under a different regime entirely though

*** I'm not sure the Jags and Falcons really should've bothered...Mularkey/Koetter are pretty much the same guy :)
