Stock Thread (12 Viewers)

CYDY was the first stock I ever bought - thanks to Chet!

This was back in December and I opened my Fidelity brokerage account specifically to buy it. I made the mistake of only buying 250 shares @ .79.  Damn what could of been! Almost bought 1,000 but back then (seems so long ago!) spending $800 on a stock seemed intimidating.
It's funny, I usually don't do tips and such. I've had my little 3k a year IRA for 20 years, and have done very well with QQQ, BoA, etc. And I'm 99% "buy and hold", so I tend to think very long term.  I go months without checking the account.

For some reason, back in Dec, when Chet mentioned this, I had about $500 "cash" in the account, and said what the heck, and bought 750 shares. Then totally forgot about it.

Then in March or April, I saw it again in this thread (think it was about $2 then), and said "oh, let me look at this stock", not realizing I already had 750 shares @ 60-something cents (nice little surprise).  I've added more, and what the heck, let's see where this goes.

If nothing else, it's fun thinking "geez, what if this is THE drug for Corona..."

I'm on Fidelity.  They have great charts with 1, 5, 10, 15 minutes and more charts.  I learned how to recognize buying/selling patterns in 1980.  I could see the buying patterns that started last Wednesday right away.
Thanks! I see now. I didn't have "real time quotes" activated.

@chet turned my $1900 into $27,900 and still going.  #notselling

Definitely owe you big time!

I love this thread.  I've been following for years, but haven't invested much until CYDY.  Love all of the recommendations/tips from everyone in here.  Keep them coming!

Not me. I’m locked and loaded. It’s getting to scary levels right now. Not selling but every $1 it seems to pass is another tick on the countdown.
I’m in trading mode. Buying everyday at close and selling on the pop until the trends breaks

$4.99 to $5.79, then retraced 50% of that gain to $5.40

$5.40 to $6.65, then retraced 50% of that gain to $6.05

This is so totally normal. Bounced up both times off the 50% retrace

I wonder how the activity plays into the uplifting potential. There's a chicken-egg thing I'm wondering about. CYDY has LL in various states of trials for different applications. IF none pan out, the company may have trouble maintaining status on NASDAQ or NYSE, no? If one or more does pan out, that problem goes away. Would an exchange want to see revenue stability before uplisting?

I have a question about what exchange they're going for. In the conference call, Nader mentioned the New York American Exchange. I'm taking it this is not the NYSE, correct? I'm not sure the NYSE is on the table. NASDAQ seems like a logical spot.

Yes and no. For those of us who got the bulk in at $1 and below, a buyout at say $10 wouldn’t be a bad thing. If this stock will get to $30 and the buyout is $10 and we’re stuck with a stock that won’t rocket then yes, we’d rather have the moonshot. If someone gives me $10+ per share, I won’t be disappointed with any result.
I would be very disappointed.

CYDY - someone knows something and it's getting around.

In at 0.92, not selling.
Someone on TWTR mentioned the increased severance they just got which can be a sign if you read between the lines on corporate actions. Especially if it's hostile, at least pads management's pockets a bit for sticking it out this whole time.

I always have this window open, set on 5 days with 10 minute updates

I asked the wife if I should sell some. She said “this is the Chet thing from your fake internet friends right? Go ahead and keep it”.

Shes smart.

:hifive:

Since I started buying the stock on April 2, I've had it on one or five minute mode (always open), and toggle back between one or two days to get my price updates.  I had some lung issues in 2009, and really can't be around people now.  It's been fun watching this damn thing. LOL

This is 99% me.  It was my first ever stock purchase too, I just got lucky and pulled the trigger the first time at .29. They say your first love is the one you’ll always remember, I’m not sure about that but my love for @chet will never die.

I also would say, a buyout offer at $10 right now seems low. Pharma doesn't really operate like others. Even with the run-up, assuming it's in anticipation of a buyout, I'd think $20 or $30 would be more appropriate. Guess it depends what the shareholder wants but 20-30%,as evidenced by Chet wouldn't be good enough. And if it is a GILD or a major, what is another $5-$10bn if they truly believe in the drug.

I'm in the CYCY train as well :towelwave:

But I'm a newbie and need some advice about DKNG

I FOMO bought DKNG at ~42    and I just bought more at ~35 to get my average price to ~38.5  --- I'm planning to sell 1/2 the shares at ~38.5  to lower the cost basis.  But at what point should I just sell everything looking to buy back in later?

Curious what everyone is doing with DFKG. Good time to entry?

fake?!  i'd miss you man if you went I-away.

Besides my immediate family, I've talked more with people in this thread than I have anyone else since Covid.  It's been great shutdown therapy.

Just noticed that I had a standing sell order at $10 for about a tenth of my shares, just to make sure that if things went crazy I'd locked in some profit.

Just canceled that order. Let it ride!
I have a limit sell order at $99.  Did this to prevent short sellers from borrowing against my shares.  Not sure if thats how it works but something that came up on this board.

Think I might need to bump it to $200 to be safe 😀

A trick I learned: use the update icon by the price to get current price and change from 10 min to 5 min (or any time change) to update the graph. I only figured that out a few days ago :bag:

I think the "refresh" link was added to CYDY last week.
