Of all times for this board to take a ####.

Vikes moved up 23 spots to the 1st. Eisen needs to give it a rest. They gave up a late 3rd and late 4th  And they arguably got the best WR in the draft.

Boy, did the Patriots rape the Vikings on this trade.
Disagree. The Vikings "gave up" a 3rd, 4th, and 7th. Lots of picks. But they are later.
And a 2nd.
That they would have used on a player anyway. I'm talking about what they "lost" or "gave up".
True but still.
It's like when they traded a 1st and two 3rds for Jared Allen. They "gave up" the two thirds. That was a good play for them.

If Patterson pans out, then "giving up" a 3rd/4th/7th is just as good of a deal.
This was a stupid trade for the Vikings. The Vikings could have gotten a really good WR at 52. This is a very deep WR class. You could have gotten a really good WR at 52 and had all those other picks. This draft is especially deep in the middle rounds. So the second, third, and fourth round picks were more valuable than normal.

Also, leave it to the Pats to know how to make a draft day trade. Raiders should be ashamed.
Anyone run the trade calc numbers???
Chase tweeted the trade was basically according to the old trade chart. Though that trade chart is out of date with the new rookie salary structure. Chase said by the old chart the Patriots got $1.01 on the dollar, by his chart they got $1.59 on the dollar.

So by his new chart, WAY overpaid by 60%.

And a 2nd. Granted they are sliding 23 picks. But compared to what everyone else got, it is a haul this year.
23 spots is a lot more than other teams were moving up. Good trade by the Vikes.
I agree. 23 slots is fairly significant and while they gave up 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders, they were mid to late picks. On the surface, it looks bad but when you look at where the picks are, they aren't great picks so it wasn't a terrible trade for either side.

A free trip to NY is probably really cool for a lot of these college kids, but if I wasn't 100% positive that I would be drafted in the first round, I'd pass. Some guys may be able to take that feeling of walking out of the room without getting picked and use it as motivation, but I imagine the majority of the guys that have to come back for day 2 are more beat down by the process than motivated. It would be interesting to see the stats on guys who went to NY and weren't picked in the first day of the draft.

So the Raiders got shorted an entire 2nd round pick.

Congrats Vikings! You may be a front runner for the April Super Bowl.

The real one... Not so much.

Love to see the numbers on the Dolphins, Rams or Cowboys trade then.

I feel bad for Geno but this should be motivation. He's going to get drafted. Probably early tomorrow night.

Yeah, even if BB didn't dominate per the trade chart, he still dominated per the rest of the trade downs in this draft.

BB always wins. Catch up.

Patriots always trade down and end up with little to show with it.

How they can be so good while drafting so poorly is kind of a mystery. Until you consider that they have Tom Brady...

I don't quite understand this. How did the new salary structure make the 1st the Vikings got less valuable? I would think exactly the opposite.
