Has nothing to do with Trent's feelings - the Colts would have to admit that they made a mistake if they started Brown.Dizzy said:So why not start Donald Brown?
The Colts would rather start in a hole every week instead risk hurting T-Rich's feelings?
Brown is a better CoP back than lead back, and he is horrible in pass protection. Luck gets hit enough as it is without Brown whiffing on blocks every passing down.Has nothing to do with Trent's feelings - the Colts would have to admit that they made a mistake if they started Brown.Dizzy said:So why not start Donald Brown?

Nice move.Moved him + a 3rd for Lacy in a limited keeper (Max 1 per position).

Maybe he's still waiting for the cable guy?jah77 said:It's crazy isn't it? He's been there for 2 months now so there is no more excuse about learning the system. And his backup is not having any issues so even if the line is struggling there is no way it's entirely their fault. You'd imagine he'd have a little humility and say something along the lines off figuring out what's wrong and trying to get better. But no, he's satisfied. I'm surprised to see he is still 90% owned in leagues. If I were an owner I'd drop him for whatever waiver wire flavor of the week I could grab.jah77 said:Trent Richardson said "I think I've been playing good."

He's rich ,hung like a moose and likes to make porn. I think he's already decided on plan B. That's my take and I think Cleveland knew it too!jah77 said:You'd imagine he'd have a little humility and say something along the lines off figuring out what's wrong and trying to get better. I think now is time to buy low for dynasty if the owner is willing to move him ... I trade TRich a month ago for DJackson and a 2nd Round Pick and last week I reacquired him for Pierce and the 2nd back to the guy.I tried to trade for Richardson in my dynasty league just a couple weeks ago and the more I think about it the more I'm glad he turned me down. Cleveland is the team that got the very best look at T-Rich and they traded him away. I know it's Cleveland but you would think lots of people in that organization were in agreement about not liking what they saw for them to pull off that move........

Thomas Jones and Lawrence Phillips. Can anyone think of another time a guy who was pretty much a consensus 1st round fantasy pick has been droppable by this point in the season, NOT due to an injury? I'm scouring my brain and I can't think of another case like this.

All I know is I haven't seen TRich completely miss a blocking assignment. I've seen Brown miss plenty of them and get his QB lit up. I've really liked Brown's talent most of his career in Indy, but poor pass protection has always been his Achilles' heel.10tihwj said:For those citing to Donald Brown's poor pass-blocking, I can say after watching T-Rich that he's not that proficient a pass-blocker either. Perhaps teams are jumping into the backfield on him because there is no worry that he's going to do anything but run straight forward. You plug gaps too aggressively with a RB who possesses plus vision and he will bounce it outside or cutback into another hole.
No real risk of T-Rich doing that at this point and no real fear that he's going to get to the 2nd level and break one.
"I'm not frustrated at all because I think I've been playing good," Richardson said. "If you turn on the film, I don't have any missed assignments. I haven't had any missed reads. I've been playing good. Stuff just hasn't matched up like we thought it would when I'm in there. I think teams match up differently when I come in.
"But if (running back) Donald (Brown) is having a good day or (quarterback) Andrew (Luck) is having a good day, I think that's a good day for me even if people are keying on me. That might let Donald get going or let Andrew have a big day. That's a good day for me, too."
"If I don't have big runs because they're trying to stop the run, then I feel like I'm doing my job," he said. "Now, if I'm out there missing my reads and not blocking and not being a (complete) back, that's different. Being an all-around back, you have to be able to block, be able to catch, you just have to make plays every way you can.

That was my reaction when I was doing it. But it had to be done. He's not startable, so why keep him? Best case scenario is that one of my upcoming opponents picks him up and sticks him in their starting line-up. I'd much rather play against him than have him play for my team.

the way fantasy goes this is the week he busts put for 100 and a tdIn his last three games, he's rushed for 20, 2 and 22 yards. Now he faces the #2 rushing defense in the league, in Arizona. The Cardinals are giving up only 81.4 YPG on the ground. And now comes word that Richardson was limited in practice with "a calf issue."
Is this a perfect storm of hideousness or what? I'm setting his over/under this week at 12.5 yards rushing.

T. Jones - Admittedly, I'd kill for TJ's 896 yds and 6 TD's at this point. Lawrence Phillips - Was he ever 1st round Fantasy material? Honest question as this was about 2 years before I really got into FFBall. I feel like he may have had 1 decent season before he got into trouble.
Anthony Thomas - Same as Phillps - Was he ever 1st round material? I'm assuming you're referring to the 2003 season and 2004 decline. Everybody knew they acquired T. Jones, so I doubt someone would've spent a 1st rounder on a guy in a time-share...there were plenty of Stud RB's back then.
As for the A-Train, the debate was between LT and Deuce for the best RB in the draft. There were also a lot of people who thought Michael Bennett was better than Thomas.``He's the best running back in the draft,'' said Dwight Adams, director of player personnel for the Buffalo Bills.
Phillips (5 feet 11, 229 pounds), who will be 21 in May, is an outstanding open-field runner who also has the strength to drag tacklers. He has quickness to the outside, is a willing blockerand has a 35-inch vertical leap. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds.
As a sophomore, Phillips finished third in the nation in rushing with 1,722 yards, averaging 143 yards.
``He is a tremendous talent with allthe physical and athletic talents NFL clubs are looking for in a franchise-type running back,'' draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. said. ``Phillips is in a class by himself when it comes to natural talent.
