[Dynasty] 2016 Draft Class (1 Viewer)

Rotoworld:

Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema indicated that junior RB Alex Collins hasn't made up his mind about the NFL.

Collins, who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's win over Kansas State in the Autozone Liberty Bowl, has a big decision upcoming. "(Collins) ran hard, protected the football and played behind his pads," Bielema told ESPN after the game. "... He's a very talented player who's got a very difficult (NFL) decision. The good news is we've got a lot of good players coming back next year regardless, but two or three who might go out." The 5-foot-11, 206-pound junior finished with a career-high 1,577 yards. He has rushed for more than 1,000 in all three years at Arkansas.

Rotoworld:

Arizona State graduate WR Devin Lucien caught nine passes for 144 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 43-42 loss to West Virginia in the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl.

Lucien did nice work on his 19-yard touchdown reception with five minutes gone in the second quarter, catching a 10-yard pass and stepping through several tackles before extending the whole of his 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame to just sneak the ball past the goal line. His numbers over the last three games are something to behold. Against Arizona on November 21, he caught nine passes for 190 yards and a touchdown. He surpassed those silly numbers just a week later, tallying eight catches for 200 yards and three touchdowns against Cal. And then Saturday's 9-144-1 line versus West Virginia. For the season as a whole, he finishes out having caught 66 passes for 1,074 yards and eight touchdowns.

Rotoworld:

The NFL Draft Advisory Board labeled Arkansas junior TE Hunter Henry a potential first-round selection should he declare for the 2016 NFL Draft.

The 2016 pool of draftable tight ends isn't particularly deep, but Henry's swimming at the top of said pool. The 6-foot-5, 253-pound junior has yet to declare for his future NFL glory, but he'll likely be the first tight end off the board should he opt to forego his final year of eligibility at Arkansas. For the 2015 season, he caught 51 passes for 739 yards and three touchdowns. Over the last five years, only two TE's have been drafted in the first round. Should he come out, Henry's sitting on that borderline.

This guy looked pretty good to me

Rotoworld:

Jalin Marshall - WR - Buckeyes

Ohio State redshirt sophomore WR/PR Jalin Marshall has declared for the 2016 NFL Draft.

If you walk past HC Urban Meyer's office, he's got Bob Marley's 'Exodus' playing on repeat while he stares blankly at the wall. We're not quite sure who's left on the Ohio State roster at this point. Marshall joins Joey Bosa, Ezekiel Elliott, Darron Lee, Tyvis Powell, Cardale Jones and Eli Apple as entrants in the 2016 NFL Draft. Setting aside all of them, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound Marshall finished this past season having caught 36 passes for 477 yards and five touchdowns. His return skills are what truly set him apart. He has four career scores on kickoffs and punts. Marshall wrote that he "will always be a Buckeye at heart, as this was my dream, and I will work hard to positively represent Buckeye Nation and my hometown wherever I go. I will never forget this opportunity and experience. I am a Buckeye for life!"

Ole Miss senior WR Cody Core is "underrated and will open eyes in Indy," according to TFY Draft Insider Tony Pauline.

"Should come as no surprise but the "other" receiver at Ole Miss, Cody Core, invited to the combine," Pauline tweeted. The Ole Miss prospect had a nice outing in the All State Sugarbowl, hauling in 4 receptions for 91 yards and a score in Ole Miss' 48-20 win over Oklahoma State. On the season, Core has been a solid option for Chad Kelly opposite Laquon Treadwell, recording 37 receptions for 644 yards with 4 touchdowns.

Once you factor in Greg Olsens' 120 targets & Kelvin B coming back, you are going to be lucky to get 100 targets. When you are a little guy, you need to go to an accurate QB or you end up like Tavon Austin. If you want stats like Antonio Brown, you want a guy that can complete 65% of his passes or more and throws close to 600 passes a year. Volume & accuracy are why small guys like Brown, Cooks, Edelman and John Brown have the numbers they have. It also doesn't hurt at all when the team he goes to has a crappy D like NO does. Carolina simply doesn't need to throw as much.

Has there been any news at all on Duke Williams since his release aside from the apology he issued? I can't really find anything.

I drafted him as a devy in one league, holding onto him in the hopes that someone takes a chance on his talent despite his off the field problems, because he seems like one helluva lottery ticket to take a shot on. A 1st/2nd round talent that could fall to the later rounds and pay off huge if he gets his head on straight.

Kenny Lawler declares for the draft:
http://www.californiagoldenblogs.com/2016/1/5/10719042/kenny-lawler-california-golden-bears-2016-nfl-draft

He's going to be a good one. Caught 13 TDs this year despite playing very sparingly in five games due to injury; finished up with 3 TDs in the Armed Forces Bowl. Tall (6'3"), huge hands, good body control, makes ODB-style catches. Deadly on fade routes. Not the fastest guy; will need to bulk up a little to deal with NFL CBs. If I have to think of a comp, I might go with Chad Johnson.

Rotoworld:

UCLA senior WR Jordan Payton accepted an invite to attend the Senior Bowl.

We bet you didn't know that Payton is UCLAs all-time leader in receptions with 201. The 6-foot-1, 213-pound senior took his game to another level this year with freshman QB Josh Rosen, grabbing 75 receptions for 1,068 yards and four scores. "Payton's hands are so strong," an NFC GM told NFL.com earlier this year.

Rotoworld take:

California redshirt junior WR Kenny Lawler declared for the NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Lawler finished with 52 catches for 658 yards and 13 scores this season. We've loosely compared Lawler to a poor man's Josh Doctson because his routes need work, but he's big and athletic and will fight for the ball downfield. CBS Sports' Rob Rang told The San Franciso Chronicle that Lawler is likely to go in the second or third round of April’s draft.

Michael Rector - WR - Cardinal

Stanford redshirt junior WR Michael Rector is indicating he will declare for the 2016 NFL Draft, according to Tony Pauline.

Multiple pieces of Stanford's offense are leaving for the NFL, including Kevin Hogan, guard Joshua Garnett, tackle Kyle Murphy, tight end Austin Hooper and now Rector, apparently. The receiver caught 34 passes for 559 yards and seven touchdowns. Rector caught eight passes 20-plus yards downfield this season, but also made 22 grabs less than nine yards downfield. That sums up his game quite well: he a short reception or vertical target.

Just watched ND LB JAylon Smith suffer what looks like a knee injury. Possible top 5 pick may have just busted his ACL in his last college game.

He was only the second player to ever win the top LB awards in high school and college (Te'o was the other). How many other top prospects in the OhioSt/ND game just saw that and checked out of this game mentally? Brutal.
Ouch. So it looks like both of the studly LB prospects (Jack, Smith) will carry some injury baggage.
That was awful to see. Smith is a stud and I hope he bounces back from the ACL/MCL tears.

Jack, luckily, suffered a torn meniscus, which isn't normally a problem to recover fully from.

Rotoworld:

NC State junior TE David Grinnage will enter the 2016 NFL Draft.

We have always appreciate Grinnage's receiving skills, but his impact only came in bursts. Grinnage, 6'5/265 lbs, caught 25 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns this season. A mid to late round selection makes sense.

Rotoworld:

West Virginia junior RB Wendell Smallwood announced on Twitter that he will forgo his senior an enter the NFL Draft.

The 5-foot-11, 201-pound Smallwood had an outstanding season for the Mountaineers, rushing for 1,519 yards and nine touchdowns this season. The West Virginia prospect surpassed 100 yards rushing in eight games this year, managing at least 72 yards in every game, while taking home the The Big 12 rushing title.

North Dakota State senior QB Carson Wentz (wrist) went 16-for-30 for 197 yards, one touchdowns and two interceptions in Saturday's 37-10 win over Jacksonville State in the FCS National Championship game.

The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder added nine carries for 79 yards and two touchdowns in his return. Wentz's passing stat line didn't sparkle, but it's important to note that the game got out of hand quickly and his first pick came on a why-not bomb at the end of the first half when NDSU led 24-0 (the second, thrown midway through the third, went into double coverage and was a bad decision). How's this for buzz: Wentz was trending on Twitter for part of the game. "Don't buy the narrative that Wentz is going to fly up draft boards. He's already there," Daniel Jeremiah tweeted during the fourth quarter. "Several top personnel guys have him as top QB." NFL Media draft expert Mike Mayock took it to another level, tweeting that Wentz is "in the conversation with Goff, Lynch and Cook" because of his "arm talent, accuracy, size and [athleticism] and is also "in the conversation to be the 1st qb taken." We've long been fans of the Senior Bowl-bound QB.
