[Dynasty] 2016 Draft Class (1 Viewer)

Has there been any news at all on Duke Williams since his release aside from the apology he issued? I can't really find anything.

I drafted him as a devy in one league, holding onto him in the hopes that someone takes a chance on his talent despite his off the field problems, because he seems like one helluva lottery ticket to take a shot on. A 1st/2nd round talent that could fall to the later rounds and pay off huge if he gets his head on straight.
Probably won't hear much until the Combine rolls around.

Bowling Green greyshirt sophomore Roger Lewis will likely declare for the 2016 NFL Draft, according to Josh Norris.

Lewis produced an outstanding season at Bowling Green, totaling 85 catches for 1,544 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2015 alone. He is one of the better vertical receivers in the country, and those skills were used correctly in Bowling Green's scheme. Lewis recently turned 22 due to issues out of high school involving allegations and a fabricated deposition. Those will certainly be questioned and asked about during the draft process.

Clemson junior TE Jordan Leggett indicated that HC Dabo Swinney revealed that he had received a fourth-round draft grade.

Said Leggett, "They've got me as maybe the third-best tight end in the draft, but with a fourth-round grade. We'll just have to see what happens. I think this game against Alabama can do a lot for me." Over the course of the 2015 campaign, the 6-foot-5, 255-pound junior's caught 35 passes for 447 yards and seven touchdowns. NFL Media's Chad Reuter has previously praised Leggett's receiving ability and athleticism.

TCU redshirt senior RB Aaron Green accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl.

Green received a quick upgrade from the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, where he'd recently pledged. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder rushed for 1,272 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final season of eligibility. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com calls Green a "creative runner with instant change-of-direction skills."

I haven't followed college football nearly enough this year. Besides Henry, who should I be watching for pro fantasy purposes in this game tonight.

O.J. Howard - TE - Crimson Tide

Alabama coach Nick Saban admitted the team underused junior TE O.J. Howard this year.

"O.J., quite honestly, should have been more involved all year long," Saban said. "Sometimes he was open and we didn't get him the ball, but I think the last two games have been breakout games for him in terms of what he's capable of and what he can do. I would say it's bad coaching on my part that he didn't have the opportunity to do that all year long, because he is really a good athlete, and he's improved tremendously as a player this year." Howard went off in the title game on Monday, converting five catches into 208 yards and two touchdowns. "You know, it makes me think about coming back and making plays next season for Coach," Howard said when asked about Saban's comments. "It'll get me more involved in the offense." Which is a good thing, because Howard was indeed criminally underused all season, posting a meager 38-602-2 line despite Monday's monster showing.

UCLA junior WR Thomas Duarte will enter the 2016 NFL Draft.

Duarte was named to the All-Pac-12 second-team this past season after posting 53 catches for 872 yards and 10 touchdowns. His father, Tim Duarte, said Thomas received a third-round grade from the NFL's draft advisory committee. Mr. Duarte also said the departure of offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone to Texas A&M was "the straw that broke the camel’s back." In Mazzone’s up-tempo scheme, Duarte played the role of Y-receiver, a kind of hybrid tight end. The 6-foot-3, 223-pounder is the sixth UCLA underclassman to enter the draft, following linebacker Myles Jack, defensive tackle Kenny Clark, offensive guard Alex Redmond, running back Paul Perkins and offensive tackle Caleb Benenoch.

Alabama senior QB Jacob Coker completed 16-of-25 passes for 335 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 45-40 win over Clemson in the CFP National Championship Game.

Where was this Jacob Coker all season? While he missed on a number of throws, he also turned in an interception-free effort, while averaging a sharp 13.4 YPA. Granted, it's easy to average such a high mark when the opponent's literally letting your tight end run wide open down the field, but that's a story for another day. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound senior had failed to surpass 250 yards passing in all but one game entering the Playoff, then threw for a combined 621 yards with a 4/0 TD/INT ratio in Alabama's wins over Michigan State and Clemson. The outward numbers in these last two games are swell, but it should be noted that he averaged fewer than 7.0 YPA for the season as a whole. The Tide coaching staff made a conscious effort to limit Coker's exposure throughout the season for a reason. NFL teams looking for an elite arm in the draft should turn their sights elsewhere--two good games does not a good QB make--but it's still a nice close to his senior season.

Connor Cook - QB - Spartans

Per Walter Football's sources, "a number of evaluators don't really like [Michigan State senior QB Connor Cook]."

"Sources say that Cook has good height, weight and delivery, but a number of evaluators don't really like him," the site noted. "They think he's too inaccurate and question his lack of leadership with his team not voting him a team captain. If one highly touted quarterback prospect slides like others have in years past, Cook could be the prime candidate." Walter Football's rankings sandwich Cook between the top two QBs (California's Jared Goff and Memphis' Paxton Lynch) and the developmental signal-callers they rank Nos. 4-5 (North Dakota State's Carson Wentz and Ohio State's Cardale Jones). WF mocks Cook No. 15 to the St. Louis Rams.

Walter Football has a source? You mean he's not some guy in his parents basement making mock drafts year round.

I wonder if this guy thinks he's the only one with Twitter.

Seriously, no QBs in the top 25? That's just a weak attempt to stand out from the crowd. Not to mention putting an undersized linebacker with a blown ACL at #1.
I disagree with a few things on that big board, but Jack at 1 is not one of them. Dude is a s-t-u-d.
Yep. It's not a mock, it's a talent listing. We all know a bunch of QB's will go early and it will be less about their actual talent. If one wants to say RB's are devalued in today's NFL, then QB's would be massively hyper-valued.

But looking at how much better a franchise QB makes a team, QB's still probably aren't valued enough in the draft IMO. For instance, if you don't have a franchise QB, why not draft like 4-5 QBs in the hopes that one of them pans out? And if more than one turns out to be starter-level in the NFL the trade value that creates is insane. Washington drafted RGIII and Kirk Cousins in the same draft and look how that's turned out recently, instead of just drafting RGIII and being SOL when all the drama happened they got Cousins waiting in the wings who's turned out to be decent at least and turned that into a playoff appearance. The franchise itself was turned around completely just by drafting RGIII and that one great year and is now in pretty good shape because they also drafted Cousins along with him. Seems like a no brainer to just pull the trigger on QB until one hits and then fill out the roster/team composition from there.

Kansas State redshirt junior FB Glenn Gronkowski accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl.

Baby Gronk isn't a defense-crumpling supernova like Patriots TE (and older bro) Rob Gronkowski, but he's a fine contributor at fullback, scoring seven touchdowns in a limited offensive role with the Wildcats over the course of his career. In early January, CBS Sports analyst Dane Brugler pointed out that the 6-foot-3, 234-pound Gronkowski "established himself as one of the better blockers at the college level early in his career." It's this blocking ability that would likely help the fullback earn a draft selection in the later rounds. For better or worse, his name alone could earn him a slight slot bump.

Jake Rudock - QB - Wolverines

ESPN's Mel Kiper says Michigan QB Jake Rudock could slot into Rds. 6-7.

And you thought you'd seen the last of Rudock. The 6-foot-3, 208-pounder, who fell out favor at Iowa, transferred to Michigan for his last year of eligibility and went on to throw for 3,017 yards, 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He led the Big Ten in completion percentage (64.0) and was second in overall passer rating (141.5). Rudock has a noodle arm and a wiry frame, but he's got smarts, NFL toughness and a stamp of approval from both Kirk Ferentz and Jim Harbaugh, which goes a long way in NFL circles. Rudock is set to play in the upcoming Shrine Game. "Rudock, I like what he did, he was solid most of the year throughout the campaign for Jim (Harbaugh), but I’m thinking more a late rounder, sixth/seventh round," Kiper said. "The same thing we talked about with Brandon Doughty coming out of Western Kentucky, same thing we talked about with Jake Coker coming out of Alabama, a late-round type possibility."

Colorado State junior WR Rashard Higgins announced he will enter the 2016 NFL Draft.

Higgins shined in 2014 under Jim McElwain while catching passes from Garrett Grayson, producing 1,750 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns on 96 receptions. He still surpassed 1,000 receiving yards this season, but an obvious step back in production was expected. Higgins is an intriguing player who will receive plenty of interest in the second- to fourth-round range.

K.J. Maye - WR - Golden Gophers

Minnesota WR K.J. Maye has been added to the Senior Bowl roster.

Maye, who stands 5'10/199 lbs, caught 73 passes for 773 yards and five touchdowns this season. The Senior Bowl receiver crop might be a bit slim, with Aaron Burbridge, Leonte Carroo, Sterling Shepard and Braxton Miller likely drawing the most interest.

Braxton Miller - QB - Buckeyes

Ohio State WR Braxton Miller said his shoulder injury is 100 percent healthy ahead of the Senior Bowl.

Miller is a "full go" for the event's week of practice, and it is a meaningful one for his evaluation. Miller looked far more natural than expected at receiver this season, creating separation and laying out for difficult catches. His production might not back that up, which is one reason why Miller was used as a manufactured touch player this season, taking snaps in the backfield and on sweeps.

North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz said that his "preparation and understanding of defensive schemes" sets him apart from other top quarterbacks in the 2016 draft class.

Wentz took part in a short interview with NFL Draft Diamonds and noted that in addition to his preparation, he also believes he can "make every throw." The 6-foot-6, 231-pound gunslinger's widely viewed as one of the best quarterback prospects in the country along with Cal's Jarred Goff and Memphis' Paxton Lynch. Goff's name will likely come off the board first, but there's a very real possibility that Wentz is drafted before Lynch. In early January, CBS Sports draft analyst Dane Brugler praised Wentz's "anticipation, timing and touch."

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. indicated that with his work in the CFB Playoff, Alabama senior QB Jacob Coker improved his stock from a "priority free agent" to a "late-rounder" for this spring's NFL Draft.

"The way that Coker went about his business after he got the job back, the way he finished off when everybody thought he’d be a liability; he became a plus for them," Kiper said. In Alabama's two-game run to the National Championship, the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder threw for a total of 621 yards with a 4/0 TD/INT ratio in helping to topple Michigan State and Clemson. Said Kiper, "He made some great throws when he had to." Coker's regular season numbers, less impressive. Not counting his Playoff work, he threw for 2,489 yards with a 17/8 TD/INT ratio.

Montana WR Ellis Henderson will forego his final year of eligibility to enter the 2016 NFL Draft.

Henderson actually temporarily left the football program in October of 2014, when he was diagnosed with depression. He rebounded in 2015 to catch 40 passes for 817 yards and seven touchdowns. Said the 6-foot, 185-pound wideout, "I don't think [Montana] was ready to deal with the burden of having a player with anxiety and depression," before adding, "that's not bagging on the program by any means -- I appreciate everything they've done for me -- but I thought it was time for something new." Unlike however many players who have unrealistic NFL dreams, Henderson understands where he's at. "I'm not expecting to get drafted," he said. "My situation is already weird as it is, but I am looking for an opportunity and I think that's out there. When I do find it, I want to be able to take full advantage of it."
