I will smack my adult kids if they do this ;) (1 Viewer)

I'll take you one further and offer that I would smack any adult I see doing this, or who shows me pictures of them having done this.
Those engaged in this activity appear to be firmly entrenched in an identifiable subset group. I wouldn't pay much attention here.

Why would you care what harmless activities other do?
Giving the deserving a good smack is one of the greatest kindnesses one can do.  Don Corleone likely saved Johnny Fontane from himself.  I am happy to provide that service as well.

Now I understand why some people hate Western culture.

Scroll down the article to see the picture of the fat dude with no shirt, a beard and head wreath. :X

I'd never do it, but it's harmless fun.  How dare an adult not be serious all the time.  The nerve!

Pretty stupid, but who cares?  I'm going to save smacking my adult kids for when they get a DUI, try heroin, or sexually assault some unconscious drunk woman behind a dumpster. *furiously knocks on wood for none of that to ever happen.

How about PAYING a professional photographer to take pics? Seems more like a phone camera moment.
I get the feeling most of these are arranged by their photographer friends.  I doubt any of them actually paid for it.  The one of the guy was actually pretty funny.

Yall need to get out of the house more. Weep for our future? Chicks should "expect to be ridiculed" for having these pics done? That's extremely bizarre, and to make it worse, none of these comments are funny. You can't live your life thru a computer screen, bro.

More power to them for doing it but when it's posted online or witnessed first hand, they should expect ridicule.
I'm pretty sure they not only expect ridicule, but they're deliberately aiming for it. It's good to laugh at yourself sometimes. Good on those folk for doing it.

Old people, man.

We get out of our own houses plenty. Y'all need to get out of your parents houses, get your own, then we'll talk :WaltFromGranTorino:

: :fishing:

Typical millennial behavior. Wasting money on stupid junk then documenting it to show how funny and clever they are.

something tells me this group has a collection of Adult Coloring Books too.

actually, I could care less what they do. But it does bring up something that i've been thinking of lately watching my 10 year ld daughter. Kids and young adults have grown up in a time where a camera was everywhere and are use to taking, or having their photos taken. Most of us in the mid 40's age range may have 1 or 2 pictures of events b/c film cost GD money!! And you were not paying for 100's of photos to be developed of some party. Unlike today where its just snap away and delete what you don't want. Its amazing of the older generation who is quick to say "oh don't take a picture of me" or "I don't look good in photos" vs younger groups who are constantly posing and actively working on the perfect pose.

Just my observation on society.

Edit to add...also in the social media generation, many people link their personality to documenting things they do. Our photos would get stuck in a shoebox, or if lucky in some photo album and never be seen again. Now its expected to be posted, fawned over and shared to validate their social credibility.

What's up with the wink-face ;) in the thread title? Makes no sense to me.

It's like the comedian's bit about the awkward dad that mis-uses all the smilies. "Going to a restaurant tonight. Going to see your sister ;) " WTF Dad??
It's plausible deniability. I can't actually smack my children without facing assault charges.

For those of you defending this stuff....

It just reeks of the self-absorbed, wasteful and juvenile attitude that is prevalent among "adults" these days.  You have 30 year olds basically living and acting like teenagers still.

Grow up, quit wasting your time and money and do something useful with your lives.

And I'm at the ripe old age of 38.

Do I like it? No.  Do I give a #### what other people do that doesn't hurt anybody?  No.

Odds are these people live quality, productive lives.

So the F what?

You want to see some adults acting like stupid children?  Check out a football stadium on Sunday in Autumn

You're the guy has some strong, atypical opinions (putting it both mildly and nicely) on pron and various other topics, right? I don't think your opinion is worth a damn. You did dumb stuff too. Well maybe not you but your peers who don't have weird hangups.

I'll agree with you it's a problem if somebody is constantly behaving like a kid. But having fun once in awhile isn't a bad thing. It's actually rather healthy. I'll bet you even have your own socially weird ideas of fun. Pretty sure it's probably lame and dumb to me but whatever. You go do your thing. They'll go do theirs. They're not forcing you to gain their sense of humor. Don't try to make them gain whatever passes for yours.

That's subjective. In their eyes, paying a photographer and a bakery to set up idiotic stuff like this is productive.
So, because they shelled out money for something you think is stupid, they aren't productive adults?  Now, that is idiotic.

So I think differently than you, so my opinion isn't worth a damn?  Huh.

And my ideas of fun are sooooo socially weird, like hanging out with friends and drinking beer and watching sports.  I'm practically the weirdest person on the whole of the innerwebs.

Love how people on this boards form opinions of me based on a couple of divisive topics.  Don't like my opinions on abortion and religion and porn?  I must be some kind of weirdo.   I'm known IRL for my sense of humor and being laid back.

I also understand the value of growing up and money and time and I think that anyone that actually invests those things into reenacting something they did at age 1 is immature, wasteful and juvenile.  I'm not the only one who thinks so (read this thread) and I'm not "weird" for that opinion.  Just different than you.

Grow up and do something productive instead of wasting your life/time/money on beer and sports.
