not yet sure how he died/was killed or of US involvement but said to be most significant ISIS kill to date.

It's not entirely clear who got him, whether that be the US or Russia (for the record, I hate when people say "Obama killed UBL" or "Bush killed Zarqawi"). 

There are even very plausible rumors that rivals within ISIS killed Adnani. These are very, very, very unstable and paranoid people we're talking about here that are part of ISIS. Very possible internal rivalries and those opposed to Adnani eliminated him.
