By law, you can't be off on a corner (as discussed earlier in the thread). However, technically you aren't allowed to leave or enter the pitch without permission. Rarely called and I was surprised they called in on the corner. Actually was excited at first when they called offside since you can physically be off on a corner only to learn the law says otherwise.
I think you never see it called because there is a judgement part of the rule that reads as such.
from a defensive point of view, I believe a defender can not purposely leave the field to create an offside situation.
from an offensive point of view, Musah's run here is an example of why it won't be called
I agree with you on both. As a striker I have stepped off the endline to make sure I wasn't called offside and become a pssive member of the play. Then usually jogged back upfield when the ball was cleared or got into position for a corner/goal kick.
English is a common Universal language in futboll. It's the language they use at FIFA/UEFA meetings too.

If you have Sirius they have been playing the ESPN feed on the soccer channel. It's a little weird tho because it's the same call as you get on TV, but you don't get to actually see what is happening. Worked for me a bit this weekend tho.
just leave your phone on the charger (screen on) and use bluetooth for the audio from the ESPN app

If you are playing Portugal in this tournament I'd be unhappy in General. They are doing everything in their power to get Ronaldo to look great. This Portugal team isn't that great as the one who won the last Euro's. Watched the replay of this match last night and going into Friday I'm pretty confident in Italy. Belgium had to have a howitzer of a goal to win and neither side looked great. Jao is now out for two months getting ankle surgery so maybe Roy Keane will take back his disparaging remarks on Felix plus where's the negative comments on Ronaldo yesterday who didn't play well?
