The matchups for Group D (England, Czech, Croatia, Scotland) are interesting. Β ItΒ seems almost certainly better to finish second in the group than first, and the third place team, if it gets through, might get the easiest knockout opponent of all.Β

I realize I'm guaranteeing that Spain put five in by saying this, but...

Kind of feels like Spain is what watching Barca without Messi will look like.

With five subs why aren’t coaches making earlier subs? I understand optimal swaps aren’t always there, but with less risk of running out of subs I think they should take chances earlier.Β

So The cafe I've been going to the Owner is doing a few videos short on matches. I've also found out some famous Patrons to go there

USWMNT GK Hope Solo

Temple and Bills Guard Dion Dawkins

Former USMNT MF and current Union Player Alejandro Bedoya (The one owner is Roma Club Philly and Union Season Ticket Holder)

Sebastian Giovinco Former Juve and ItalyΒ

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (No lie Got shown the pic)

Former Union Player Fafa PiculatΒ

among a few others. In November after Union won the Supporters shield it came to the CafeΒ

Here's a video of Match day 2. I got the White Italy Kit, Black shorts and Maroon Phillies hat. The guy screaming in the video with the Blue Shirt is one of the owners.Β

Your's truly with a bunch of crazy Italians cheering Italy

After two full rounds, this is what the knock outs look like if they started tomorrow:

Locked and loaded (for now) for Matchday 3 :boxing: - trying to prove how important a lack of soccer is for fantasy soccer contests.

(Btw ya got til noon eastern to make your transfers)

Italy gets either the 2nd place B or 2nd place C team if I am not mistaken.

Belgium is just about locked into 1st place in B - they can only drop to 2nd if:

a) they lose to Finland by 3 goals or

b) they lose to Finland and Russia doesn't beat Denmark.

Actually I guess they fall to 3rd if they lose by 6 to Finland and Russia wins.

In other words they are a lock.

Holland is locked in as 1st place in C.

5 is the universal to know if a team has definitely advanced btw.

it's still possible for a 3rd place team with 4 points (or even two such teams) to not advance.

It's also possible for a 2-point team to advance.Β  Spain possibly can advance if they lose still - lol imagine them parking the bus down 1 if they Poland is getting pummeled and based on the prior results they know that is all they needed

-QG

Looked at the Spain 2-point advancement scenario a little closer.Β

The would need:

1) To lose by exactly 1.Β  The are eliminated no matter what with a loss by 2 or more.

2a) Poland to lose or

2b) Poland to tie and Spain outscores Poland by 2 or

2c) Poland to tie and Spain outscores Poland by 1 and Spain manages to not get 6 more yellow/red card points than Poland.

3) Switzerland and Turkey to draw.

4a) Croatia and Scotland to draw AND Spain outscores Croatia.Β  or

4b) Croatia and Scotland to draw and Spain and Croatia score the same number of goals and Spain manages to not get 3 more yellow/red card points than Croatia.

So yes of course I am rootingfor Switzerland and Croatia to both tie their games :grad:
