How did the thermal detonator not kill Fett?
It nearly did. It was either that or get slowly digested over a thousand years though. He was dying from the blast and the stomach acid but luckily Dengar was nearby and rescued him. It wasn't out of kindness. Dengar was hoping to get something out of saving Fett since Fett was pretty damn wealthy being the top bounty hunter for years.

This episode was awesome. I wish Fett was a little more ruthless but he does have a bit of honor to him. More along honoring a deal.

The Dark Troopers appear to be the Kyle Katarn Dark Forces kind. Super powered droids built like walking battle tanks. Really awesome to see what they do with them.

Can't tell yet if Gideon is force sensitive or just skilled with a sword. I was hoping Grogu would try to force choke him and Gideon would have waved him off with his own power. Still left in the dark there. Also I'm glad that the stakes have been upped. We finally have conflict that brings us into the story with something to lose. We all think they won't do anything to Grogu but we don't really know for sure. This is all new and awesome. We can go anywhere with it.

The world building has been phenomenal. All the little details bring you into a galaxy far far away and bring to life what many of us have been enjoying for the last 30 years in the EU books.

Only 2 episodes left and I have no idea which way they'll go with it but I'm excited. First time I've been excited to watch Star Wars since 2015 and first time it's actually paying off since 2005 (clone wars show was fun but I wasn't dying to see it each week).

Works for me 🤝🤝

For Boba being seen as such as badass in the Star Wars Universe since his introduction in the Star Wars Holiday Special.....that was really the first time he ever did anything.

ETA:  And it was impressive.

the episode was awesome. the only gripe I had was, while it's an ongoing joke, I'm getting a little tired of seeing stormtroopers be nothing but layups. just running headlong into battle with no strategy, the worst shots in the galaxy, easily dispatched by pretty much anyone. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them yells out "hey Moe!" and gets poked in the eyes at some point.

I think I'm early in S3, but I find the Starship Troopers intros in the Clone Wars alternate between mildly amusing and crazy annoying.

Keep waiting for one to end with, "Would you like to know more?"

They are the Washington Generals of the Galactic armed forces.

Yep running down the path of the boulder is a new low.

They'd be more effective if you started the battle with an ion cannon blast or two from the orbiting cruiser.

My wife watch the show with me and the kid.  She's not the biggest buff, and so she questioned why they even wear armor if it doesn't stop lazers, or even thrown rocks.  She wasn't buying that it was intimidating.

I thought the same. I guess its an ongoing joke, but the action in that scene was pretty weak imo.  Boba's companion hides behind rocks and picks them off, wave after wave. Fett steps in close and bashes a dozen or so with his club.  Mando shows up, presses the button on his wrist that instantly kills another dozen, then leaves. Super troopers fly down and nab the kid.  Not really very well-designed fight scene for me.

Watched it again yesterday, and I think I yelled out loud, "Grab your jetpack!" before he ran up the hill too late to save the kid.
I thought that the entire scene. But if he had it on, then we would expect him to get Grogu back from the black badass droids. The plot requires Fett and ER nurse girl to team up with Mando and them to spring the comedian guy to go rescue the muppet from Breaking Bad guy.

I think you mean the agent of shield girl. HTH

I prefer it when the space wizards have a sword fight

I’m going to stay out of this thread from now on.  Was thinking this last episode was awesome only to have it torn apart in here.  Enjoy the rest of the season and don’t try and let things like “the hubcap flew off in the one scene, but was back on in the next” ruin the show for you.

And no one's even brought up jeans guy!

Yea I don’t care about any of these complaints lol. Saw some stupid articles on Twitter yesterday saying things like “actually bringing Boba Fett back was bad” — too many opinions out there.

You mean like, "They make it like the Stormtroopers are really bad." As if that hasn't been a thing since about the 40 minute mark of Episode IV. Not to mention the Empire is in tatters. Any Stormtrooper with any sort of skill could get a gig making better money as a mercenary or in security. Only the dregs would stay with Empire.

Yea I'm sort of getting tired of this as well. At least make them somewhat competent and at least have the armor stop some shots. Otherwise what's the point of even wearing it. It gets repetitive. Even in the video games, the stormtroopers could take 2-3 shots before dying.

Just stay away from Twitter in general but for some reason, they have started a crusade against this show. Many reasons. None of them worthy.

So I want to get more into the expanded universe. Should I start with some books, comics, clone wars, etc? Also, any good audio books out there (narrator is big positive or negative). I really like fiction audio books for traveling.
