I cannot stand this guy.  Gifted Chelsea a win in fa cup.  Doesn’t know wtf to cover.   :hot:

Not sure penalty was deserved but omg Bruno is the man.   :towelwave:
uhhh, cleats up through the shin isnt a pk?  Are you arguing for the advantage to let it go?

Either way, he should have been booked, he wasnt, then was booked a few minutes later going through the back of Martial.

De Gea didn't cost them anything although I dont understnd why Romero didnt start.  Really my only complaint.  De Gea maybe could have done better on the first goal, but I point to AWB and Williiams on that.

Williams and AWB on goal 1, Awb and Lindelof on goal 2.

Mental lapses cost United. Sevilla took their two chances, Bono gave it his all in goal.

United was mentally tired after the grind of the restart and not enough depth for any type of rotation.  No game changers on the bench.  Only concievable move would have been Ighalo on for Rashford. Even then...

Ref was poor.  Didn't book the tackle for the PK.  Didn't book for the defender clearing out Martial late in the 2nd half.  Didn't book for the kick out at Williams.  Booked Rashford for spiking the ball the 2nd time the ref botched the throwin call, the first leading to Sevilla's opening goal.  Apparently booked a Sevilla player for asking for a card although he didn't book the others doing the same earlier in the game.

Bright side? An extra week off before the season starts for a team that is at its mental end.  Board needs to back them and get signings done this week.  Sancho, DM, CB all needed and needed NOW.

5' Diego Carlos fouls Lukaku for a PK, Lukaku scores

75' Carlos goes for the overhead kick, hits it well and goind wide, Lukaku puts it in his own net, own goal.

Sevilla once again wins Europa.  Do they ever not win the Europa?

And Young, Lukaku and Sanchez have as many trophies this year as United.

Colin Millar @Millar_Colin

Since 2001, Spanish teams have played non-Spanish teams 15 times in European finals (Champions League and Europa League). Spanish sides have won all 15 finals. Dominance.
The semi-finals, on the other hand...

6 for 6 I think in Europa / Euro Cup.  Can't seem to have that level of success in CL or La Liga though.
They probably arent going to compete with Real, Barca or Atletico, so go win the Europa, get into CL, finish 3rd in the group, drop down to Europa, Win Europa.... and so on.  Works for them in a RM v Barca world.

The final is here.  I will be offline during the match as I have a fantasy draft starting at noon and will not be finished until after the start of the match.  I hate that I will miss it live.

If you don't get CBS Sports as part of your cable/streaming provider package CBS All Access is offering a free 7-day trial and you can stream the match there. Are they broadcasting golf today? Disappointing they'd put it on their cable channel instead of the OTA network.

Also I've really enjoyed the single-match knockout format. They should seriously consider it going forward.

Yes they got that boring abomination on instead. Not sure how they expect to get fans to sub to their streaming service for the tourney though if they at least don't put the final on the main channel. Its not even one of their bigger tourneys. Easily could put it on TBS or TNT

I imagine their theory is that they aren't going to cause people to fall in love with soccer.  But the soccer fans WILL pay for CBS All Access.  Which I am.

It is very fun.  But it does take games away from home stadiums, which I'm not a fan of.

I'm really not a fan of 2-legged ties.  The first games are never satisfying and the second games are often over before they began.  Hate the away goals rule too.

If I was in charge of UEFA for a day, my "spin" on the CL knockout rounds would be a 16-team American style tournament, all rounds best of 3, aside from the final.

Fun fact a guy who was an intininary for AC Milan found Alphonso Davies before he went to Vancouver in 2015. He told Milan who weren't interested.

Feels bizarre to have a game of this magnitude in front of no fans.  Just an offputting vibe.
It's ####### stupid.  How are you growing the sport by burying the biggest game of the year on a channel virtually no one in the country has?

And how did CBS Sports Invisible get the rights to begin with?  I find it hard to believe none of the real channels was willing to pay a decent fee.

Yeah, I don't understand CBS running this on CBSSN.  I do actually get this channel, though, thankfully.
