It's that time of year- Teams are tired from the congested calendar, results get weird. I think they're good enough to stay up.Nobody on Newcastle gives a ####. They’re going down.

The most popular post in the thread needs to be bumped.Zlatan’s 500th career goal is ridiculous. https://streamable.com/u5sl7

I love that one because it's so unique - not sure I've seen anything like it.What's crazy is he has so many ridiculous goals, I literally had no idea which one this couldve been
Inter come back after the red (in the 60 something min) and win 2-1. Waiting to see what Ericsens game winner in the 97th looks like....The Zlat sent packing on a soft second yellow. He has the bad guys up 1-0.
It was pretty.El Floppo said:Inter come back after the red (in the 60 something min) and win 2-1. Waiting to see what Ericsens game winner in the 97th looks like....
They seem to be picking and choosing when to apply the letter or the spirit of the law, esp when it comes to offside. This is offside by the spirit but a toe or knee (or a shirtsleeve because someone pointed) is off by the letter. They need to decide how they want to move forward.AAABatteries said:Sound like the EPL changed their mind. I agree with this and not how it was called during the match. Clear advantage gained by the attacking player who was in an offside position.

I didn't see it, just some comments but the ARs are not consistent. Despite the "keep the flag down mandate" to often the OBVIOUS offside is not called and the boarderline is. Plus even if the flag goes up, the forward is told to keep going and put the ball in the net so VAR can review. Its completely asinine.AAABatteries said:Things are getting comical with delayed offside flag - WBA just got totally ####ed even if you could say by letter of the law it was the correct decision. Between this and their last one, City are really catching some huge breaks (although they probably would have won this one easily).
ETA - I should ammend this - WBA didn't get ####ed, they should have kept playing but what they've done is stupid. I think I'd rather go back to just dealing with human error on offside calls that were wrong.
Looks like he got into it with Lukaku and now reports of Zlatan using a racist term: "voodoo s&*t"?El Floppo said:The Zlat sent packing on a soft second yellow. He has the bad guys up 1-0.
The captain of my college team was a Jamaican international, prone to saying all manner of ####, including some stuff as the keynote speaker for the school/all-sports-wide annual varsity dinner that went national. He was my away game roomie and kinda buddy...and I knew he was an ####### who said idiotic ####### ####. Never considered him a racist or bigot even though he'd say some really ####ty bigoted things in the heat of it.Looks like he got into it with Lukaku and now reports of Zlatan using a racist term: "voodoo s&*t"?
It looked like an obvious offside, the ref waited really late to raise her flag and then the West Brom players (stupidly) stopped playing. Granted, it was a well taken goal but nobody closed him down. The announcers even praised the lineswoman for a good call and then once they finally got around to showing the line it was just barely onside. It was comical - but had no impact on the outcome like the Villa one did. I think Villa get a point out of that match if that call wasn't made.I didn't see it, just some comments but the ARs are not consistent. Somebody here said he was watching from the stands...may not have had any control over this lineup just yet.So Tuchel is in a coach, but CP isn't starting...
Does CP have a knock?
He's wearing full blue on the sidelines. Point still stands, but he's on the sideline and shook hands w/ Nuno before the game.Somebody here said he was watching from the stands...may not have had any control over this lineup just yet.
Mount, Tammy, James and Timo also all on the bench. To update... the Peacock broadcast is definitely acting like this is Tuchel's first game in charge. I don't know if he made the lineup or not, but at the halftime break they commented on his 'first halftime talk as Chelsea manager'.
At half Chelsea had 79% possession and 2 Shots on goal. How have they looked? Is it the same passing around the back, occasional foray down a wing and hopeful lob to nobody in the middle? Odoi and Ziyech doing much? Anybody attacking players 1v1 the way CP does?
No one wants to just clear a ball, got to pass out of the back no matter what.....United have been utter #### for 60 minutes. Ole probably hasn't used a sub because he's not allowed to sub 11 guys at once.
Or...and call me crazy...they use the rule already in the books and count six seconds. If the guy is still having a snooze on the turf, going walk-about, doing his taxes, or otherwise spending more than six seconds before releasing the ball- call an indirect foul.Anytime a keeper catches an easy ball late in the game, takes a few steps and goes to ground should be booked for time wasting.
Yes.Just sad. Sheffield was never as bad as their table position. They worked hard. United was bound to slip up. Is this when City opens a gap?
They were already the favorites - I don’t see anybody challenging them unless Pool find their form. Ole can’t figure out how to deal with bottom half of the table or home matches.Just sad. The problem is Ole’s only game plan seems to be a counter attack - now it works great most of the time but there seems to be no plan B when United have well over 60% possession. They either have to score early to draw teams out or struggle - there seems to be no in between. No one wants to just clear a ball, got to pass out of the back no matter what.....

Top clubs going for the titleWow. Guess United doesn't really want to win this title. Dropping 3 at home to the team at the bottom. oof.
I agree City were favorites, esp with games in hand. de Bruyne out may hurt a bit though. They were already the favorites - I don’t see anybody challenging them unless Pool find their form. Ole can’t figure out how to deal with bottom half of the table or home matches.
They have been beating bottom of the table teams of late so I am not sure I agree. The problem is Ole’s only game plan seems to be a counter attack - now it works great most of the time but there seems to be no plan B when United have well over 60% possession. Newcastle hasn’t won in 11 matches.Fwiw, like I commented for Newcastle- it's the crazy results time of the compacted fixture calendar. I feel like these freak losses happen to the best teams every year around now... and there's alway the gnashing of teeth and rending of hair from their fans...but the teams always settle back into it and push on as always for the second half of the season.

Lets also not overlook the fact that Martial had a good goal called back becuase McGuire touched the keeper, but Sheffield's first goal was allowed despite De Gea getting a shoulder charge to the kidney. The problem is Ole’s only game plan seems to be a counter attack - now it works great most of the time but there seems to be no plan B when United have well over 60% possession. They were great countering today. Wilson could've had 4 or 5.
Then Palmeiras scores immediately after it in the 10th minute of added time minute to (presumably) win it. Crazy.Well this guy got himself ejected and then went into the stands with the fans![]()
