Brighton are so fun to watch. Up 2-1 on City with ~10 to go.

The ability to play intricate, quick touches straight up the middle regardless of the defensive traffic, and create chances is just beautiful.
I checked the scoreline when I got home and they were down 0-1.

City is imploding

Here's a new one to me...

If you go full DOGSO on a player breaking away, but the ball falls kindly for a third player who goes on to score there's no red. Or yellow. Had no idea.

I would think no card or foul at all if you play advantage after a few passes or passage of time whether or not a goal is scored, right? If you play advantage, at some point the ref can't bring it back regardless I believe, meaning the fouling team gets a break.

I would have thought the yellow/red could still be shown -- like a normal play on where the ref goes back and shows the card after. But obviously you're right in this case.

He just sat down. Wasn't limping or anything when he walked off the field.

Would be shocked if he doesn't miss any games, but they never said a word about it.

ETA: the Twitterers say he pointed to his hammy.

Set your alarms tomorrow, biggest game of the season kicks off at 7:30 ET as we look to confirm that the city is in fact ours

Meanwhile, highlights from where I've been today (level 8 of the English system)

Messi has played in 21 MLS games this year. He has lost only twice, both times to Atlanta.

Miami is down 2-1 in second half of the deciding game against Atlanta right now.

It is too early to start drinking, but it has to be done. Last time I was imbibing this early was probably when we played Spurs while I was in Chicago (so 9am central KO) but that was holiday so all bets are obviously off on that one

Well, if they scored he didn't deny the goal scoring opportunity now did he? So no red

Ref probably could have gone back and given a yellow if the foul was bad enough I think.

What a mess for Ghana. 24 teams qualify for the African Cup of Nations.

Ghana only needed to come in top 2 in a group of Niger, Sudan, and Angola to qualify. They finished dead last in the group.

Liverpool have had the better of Real Madrid so far, and Madrid have had the better of the ref so far, but it's 0-0 with Liverpool creating a handful of half chances.

Nunez has been a handful and been in the middle of most of Liverpool's danger, but I think I'd move Diaz inside and get Gakpo on sooner rather than later. Playing Nunez 80+ minutes on a yellow just seems like borrowing trouble.

Liverpool definitely on the front foot now in the second half. They think they are the better team and are starting to impose.

Real can counter though so a goal against the run of play is definitely possible too.

That's about as dominant a 7 minutes as you could have v Real -- they may not have been out of their end more than a few seconds since the half started -- and Mac Allister pays it off.

And 30 seconds after the restart it could have been two.

Wow. Robertson bails them out.

First shot on goal.
