10 Cloverfield Lane - IT'S JUST A MOVIE, PEOPLE. IT'S NOT A SEQUEL. (1 Viewer)

Huge opportunity for director Dan Trachtenberg.

Seems like just yesterday I was watching him on Geekdrome and The Totally Rad Show. #RIPRevision3.

Just read that there was a bunch of Lost type web sites for Cloverfield that didn't really end up in the movie and that this may be connected to that. I assume it has to be tied in somehow but who knows. I liked the original although I like this one already since it isn't that found footage. I'll go with my high schooler to see this.

I believe this was trying to keep with the super-secret-Abrams stuff tradition (remember the original Cloverfield was kept entirely under wraps until the last minute).

Having said that...is this something to be excited about?

I mean, I'm a fan of the bulk of Abram's work, but to me, Cloverfield wasn't all that great (not a bad movie - for a "found footage" device film - but hasn't ever merited a second watching).

Still, I hope Trachtenberg does something great. Always root for the nerds.

Never saw the first one. Seemed like it had a lot of hype and then afterwards people said it wasn't that good. Worth the watch?

Sci-fi/Godzilla Blair witch, right?

Go see it before you read any reviews.. I avoided any and all reviews and am so glad I did.. Very intense at times... and even if you saw Cloverfield this leaves you wondering throughout about Goodman's character. .. Really enjoyed it from start to finish!

I loved Cloverfield for some odd reason and I am really excited about this movie. Will have to wait until Spring Break however to seen it.

BTW It is NOT a sequel. Or even a "prequel" . Someone should change the title.. :welcome:
:goodposting:   From what I've read is that it's a cash grab from previously shot movie that was orphaned and sitting on the cutting room floor called The Cellar.  36 days of additional shooting for 5 million bucks was added to The Cellar and then branded as a Cloverfield spinoff.   I'll definitely see it though.

Makes sense based on how it "flows".. but I wouldn't call it a "cash grab" as it could have been called 10 Lane and stood on it's own.. but the tie in is there which makes it even better..

It's getting great reviews, heard about it on the radio this morning and the movie guy gave it an 11 out of 10.  It's 90% on rotten tomatoes.

I was rooting for the monster because I couldn't in good faith root for a #####-whipped metro sexual running across town to try and save and get back some chick who dumped his ###. I was hoping that he'd get to her apartment, bust open the door to save her and ends up interupting some guido/jabroni mounting her from behind with her screaming "GET THE #### OUT OF HERE YOU SISSY!!! I TOLD YOU WERE WERE THRU!!!"

Can't wait to this see this.  For those who have seen it, highly recommend??
Yes.. Very enjoyable.. Thought it was so well done may go see it again,  this time with the wife as I think even she would enjoy it.. and her and I rarely see eye to eye on movies. :)
