I like the one guy's Woodstock analogy, though of course the obvious difference was the clientele and expectations. He was ever the optimist, lol. That and he was willing to go "service" some random dude for water for the event.

I have about 25 minutes left to finish it. I’m so glad I never got caught up in the see and be seen culture. I can’t imagine being persuaded to drop the $3k+ needed to go to this mostly non-descript music fest that I saw a short video clip about on Instagram. Just baffling that the idea ever took off both from the customer standpoint and the production side of things

Those of you shocked and surprised by the maroons that attempted to create a dead zone between them and everyone else, obviously are not familiar with the lord of the flies. That behavior is perfectly in line with those lovely boys in the book.

I've watched all of the Netflix doc, and about half of the Hulu doc, and one of my first observations is that a lot of the footage is the same. And it's not just the same scenes from different angles/iPhone cameras, but the actual same video. I haven't looked at the credits for both docs, so maybe a citation is there regarding this. It just struck me as odd.

is it mostly footage from that video promo with the supermodels? I think they filmed every second of that trip... so likely to be the same footage. but if the rest of the interviews are the same- very weird. I haven't seen the Hulu one yet.

The ####Jerry team realized what a mess it was and had cameras rolling constantly with the eye on doing a documentary at a later date no matter what. I'm sure they are being paid from both ends of this, to that end it seems like they put in 30k to the gofundme so...yay?

They had like 24 of the very, very hottest girls in the world for a party for 2-3 days wearing nothing but bikinis for much of it.
I mean high class NY escorts are in the range of like 5-10k/hr.

I just finished the HULU version and
at the "plot twist" I think they dropped at the end (or went totally over my head :whoosh: when watching the Netflix one). AND, I think both are needed to get as much of the story as possible and I recommend watching the Netflix version first.For those that have seen both
So, the Bleep Jerry guys were the driving force behind the Netflix version, knowing the HULU version was being produced, in an effort to paint them in a better light; even though they are named as a defendant in the Geragos Suit, correct? If so, this whole thing is at a whole new level of disgusting in my eyes. If this is/was the case I hope they get jammed by the courts in the civil case.

This whole thing is so intriguing to me, mostly because I am old, somehow missed that this happened when it did, had no real idea the power of Instagram and that outfits like Bleep Jerry existed. This article looks to be the most recent update on the $100K Civil Suit. It appears to confirm what I was feeling when I watched the HULU Doc, that Bleep Jerry was the driving force in the Netflix Doc to sway sentiment in the court of public opinion; and that Geragos is going to try like hell to keep Ja as a defendant as that's where (at least) some of the money is at. While I am all about the idea that a fool and their money are soon parted and shouldn't feel all that sorry for those who fell for this sham; I do and hope both Ja and Jerry get what's coming to them as this plays out.

The narrator is EXACTLY what is wrong here (aside from the swindling guy who tried to produce this).....
"You're living in your parent's basement, pull out your phone—which you do 100x an hour, looking at Instagram. You see a post for a festival, in the Bahamas, with beautiful women, private planes, music....and drugs. Mam, that's about as sexy as it gets. And then, you see these beautiful, sexy people, in wonderful places that you're not, doing things that you cant afford to do. It really didn't matter that these guys may be waifs, trustafarians (WTF does that mean??), and this guy hosting this party was an obvious fraud, because many of these influencers are people you follow and aspire to be and a rapper you listen to.
So when an opportunity presents itself to get out of your parent's basement and be part fo something culturally relevant, you're absolutely going to jump at that."
No #######....the only opportunity you should be looking to do, is one that will get you out of your parents basement for good and stop aspiring to be a rapper, influencer or any other FAKE personality on social media. Welcome to the world of advertising.....they make everything sexy and appealing so suckers like you decide spending money on that is more important than keeping it and using it to better yourself. I'm sorry, I am getting less and less sympathy for these guys.
I'm watching the rest a bit later, but was the main guy a fraud, Yes. Do i believe he actually tried to put this event on? Yes as well. But it just over consumed him and he ran out of money to swindle. Its not like these people showed up and there was nothing. At least he had a site, stages, tents (as bad as they were)....but there was something. I just think his ambitions were bigger than his pocketbook and capabilities. Trust me, I'm not siding with him, but I'm also not shedding a tear for these people who went in JUST b/c some celebrity was paid to dance around on a boat. Remember...there was NO CONCERT when the influencers were there..nothing but an idea and mention of a concert.
