2 offers: A.Beltre for E Santana and Giambi for Billingsley (1 Viewer)

I need power in the worst way. My pitching is pretty solid (numbers wise), so I was looking to dump some SP for power.

I was offered Adrian Beltre for Ervin Santana and another team offered me Jason Giambi for Chad Billingsley.

I already have 2 yanks on my team (Damon and Jeter), so I am not too sure if I want another, is Dye equal to Giambi?

I could use the help at CI/3B as I am starting Bill Hall. Also, should I counter the Beltran trade offer with Milton Bradley or is that asking too much?

My team

C Víctor Martínez

1B Adrián González

3B Mike Lowell

SS Derek Jeter

CI Bill Hall

MI B.J. Upton

OF Hunter Pence

OF Kosuke ####udome

OF Matt Holliday

OF Emil Brown

OF Skip Schumaker

Util Dmitri Young

Util Billy Butler

BN Carlos Guillén

BN Johnny Damon

BN Jeremy Hermida

BN Xavier Nady

P Francisco Rodríguez

P Troy Percival

P Ben Sheets

P Ted Lilly

P Ervin Santana

P Ryan Franklin

P Chad Billingsley

P Fausto Carmona

P Cliff Lee

BN Scott Kazmir

BN Joe Borowski

DL Jason Isringhausen

DL Pedro Martínez

First of all its Adrian Beltre, not Beltran. 2nd of all Giambi for Billingsley is HORRIBLE for you. Beltre for Santana seems fair but I dont think Beltre will hit many more HRs than Hall so I dont know if its worth it HR wise. Bradley isnt much of an upgrade HR wise either as hes not much of a power hitter and he gets hurt all the time.

Damn, I was just fixing the error on Beltre... you were too fast. Thanks!

i agree with shady.

giambi is not the kind of guy you trade for. you wait until he gets hurt this week or goes on an 0-40 stretch then pick him up off the wire.

beltre for santana is fine value, but it's probably not a trade you really need to make. hall's the same player with a BA 20 points lower.

your pitching may be decent now, but i wouldn't say you're "all set". you should be solid, but there's no reason to start selling off unless it's a certain upgrade somewhere. there aren't any certain upgrades in any of these deals.

To answer your other question, I prefer Dye over Giambi.

On a side note...I know he's just one guy and all, but it seems like every team that drafted Victor Martinez is near the bottom in HR in their respective leagues.

It is that way for me... if it weren't for Stolen Bases and HRs I would be on top.
