2 round mock draft in the books ! (1 Viewer)

Bengals, let me introduce your most needed element. A big mohonkus to plug the middle and keep the stillers from running down your throats.

Gabe Watson.
Good choice. I like Kiwi right here, btw. I think he stopped the bleeding at the combine. Also an SS is a good idea. Simpson, Bing, Whitner... Those five are worth considering. Watson and Kiwi my preferences.

:goodposting: The pick is made. This is a no brainer. Move on.

I like either Mathias Kiwanuka or Darnell Bing here. I'll flip a coin and hope neither has allready been picked because I forgot to look. Kiwanuka it is.

Cincinnati is not drafting a tight end. I'll pull the quotes if you want them.

Defense is #1 priority. He has too many weapons doing to well to try and work a pass catching TE in. He wants he TE to block like a tackle.

He wants DL help. A SS to line up with Madieu.
I agree completely. Gabe Watson, Ko Simpson, Darnell Bing, and Donte Whitner are the 4 guys I am looking at here. Which of those safeties would be the best match with Madieu Williams?
Same page. I didn't read your before imitating it. I like Whitner over the other two. He's complete. I like Ridge's Watson pick better. They need meat in the trenches. Can you name their starting DTs?

wasn't the monstorous plug in the middle going to be Sam Adams?

i like a safety or kiwi here

Due to the depth at one position and the lack thereof at the other....

With pick #24 the Cincinnati Bengals select Gabe Watson, DT, Michigan

This 340 pound side of beef will look great pawing at the air just vacated by Fast Willie Parker in the upcoming season.

On we go to the Giants, who were suppsoed to be looking CB here, but with Will Allen in talks to re-sign, I think LB may be their biggest need. Does DeMeco Ryans go here, since he was passed over by New England, upon further review?

As for Kiwi, whats the difference between him and the guy they got out of Georgia last year in the first? Not Thurman, he was their second rounder...

David Pollack. Very similar player - I agree with you. I think they go Whitner here if they sign Sam Adams - otherwise, it's Watson.

Ryans makes sense for NYG.  So does that really fast MLB from UTEP.  Forget his name.  A DB makes some sense too.
Thomas Howard. Youboty is still out there too....
Antonio Cromartie?
He's still around too. Granted, this pick hinges on Will Allen, but I think he's going to re-sign, and they are perilously thin at LB. Sims might be a guy they look at here, or Carpenter.

Yeah Sims might be a good fit here.

I have to move faster here, as I am off to my hotel at 5, so...

With pick 25, the Giants select DeMeco Ryans, LB, Alabama.

And this time he stays there, With Allen back, I like a LB pick here - otherwise it's probably Youboty or Cromartie.

Chicago up. G? TE?

Chicago and Pope seem to be a nice combo, though TE is very deep this year. But Pope's numbers were just yummy at the combine. He really cemented himself at #2 TE, imo.

How about Santonio Holmes? No guarantee they get Randle-El, and they could use a pass-catcher.
I hope not because I want Carolina to get Holmes. So that is my pick for them when they come up next . :D

OK, with the 26th pick, the Bears select Leonard Pope, TE, Georgia

Clear-cut #2 TE in this draft, at 6' 8" 260 with 4.6 speed - he could be a bonafide terror to match up on.

Panthers up at #27... what the hell do they do here? With Maroney gone, the talent isn't really there at RB - do they go D-line? BNB?

Winston, Gilles, or Bing here.

Come on EG, Pope it is.

On to Carolina.

I say OT. :excited:

Wharton gave up 8.5 sacks in 10 starts. Both their guards are probably not coming back, hopefully not starting. Wharton is a good guard, a bad tackle. Give them Scott or Winston to compete with Gross for LT, and move Wharton back to guard, you solve two position problems with one pick.

Holmes to Carolina? I don't see them going WR, but who knows? Anyone want to weigh in on this pick, because it's a blank slate at this point.

I'm weighing in with a 310 pound OT converted TE, who ran faster than many LBs at the combine.Eric Winston.

Unless Fox goes insane and signs T.O. they will draft a WR to play oposite Steve Smith. That was their biggest problem last year.

I agree with this. They need some OL help and this guy should be pretty damn good.

I absolutely love this guy and wouldn't mind Pittsburgh drafting him if he is there at #32, even though they don't need a tackle.

If Watson were here, he might make sense. But no DT represents value here. Losing Morgan, a LB might make sense. No RB has value here. OLine makes some sense. Carter came on at end of year at WR. Maybe TE, but thats not Panthers style...

BNB would not approve. He said as much elsewhere. Lots of possession receivers with good speed to be had in rounds 2-4.

BNB reference swayed me. :P

I agree that they'll give Drew Carter a chance opposite Smith full-time and as such,

With the 27th pick the Panthers select Eric Winston, OT, Miami

I think they'd love an RB here, but unless they reach for Addai or Drew, I just don't see the value. Travelle Wharton has been a bust at T, and they could plug Winston in right away and move Wharton back over to G where he belongs.

#28 brings us to the Shaguars. I think they need to look at a CB here to go with Mathis - Cromartie and Youboty still being on the board, a CB pick makes too much sense here.

Kiwi has fallen far enough. He gets single coverage and is the NFL DROY!

Well, thats a bit dramatic. But it works pretty well.

If they are in this position in the draft, I think they take Jonathan Scott without question. CB can be had in round two.
