2 round mock draft in the books ! (1 Viewer)

Jax - LB, CB, S
Ernie Sims/Kiwanuka?, Cromartie/Youboty, Whitner/Bing/Simpson
Kiwi might be a force outside of Henderson and/or Stroud. Interesting. Heyward and Spicer? Hmmm... I like Carpenter here for some reason. They have Winborn ready to replace Ayodele.

I'm tired. lol

With pick #28, the Jaguars select Ashton Youboty, CB, Ohio St.

A solid young CB from a school with a good track record with CBs. Put him on the corner across from Rashean Mathis and the Jags are set for years at CB.

#29 is Denver again. Kiwanuka would be a great fit here, but I made the pick at #22 assuming they traded Bell and a draft pick for Abraham, so DE is suddenly not a great need. Do they go with Santonio Holmes here, who is unexpectedly still available, take a safety, or go for a guy like Nick Mangold, who would flourish in their zone-blocking system?

I didn't mention it other than listing CB as a need, but I like it.

:IBTL: They would die to get him here with Pryce gone and all those Browns.

Side bet the Jags don't draft D.
What offensive position is worth a first rounder to them? RB? Nah. WR? been there done that too often lately. TE? Maybe, but not with the depth and who is left. OL? They are happy at LT, resigned Meester. Maybe, but I would take your bet.

From what I have heard, they inted to re-sign Pryce though, so with he and Abraham on the corners of the line, do they need Kiwanuka?

All right, you swine....

Although I love Nick Mangold here, the Broncos use the 29th pick to select Mathias Kiwanuka, DE/LB, Boston College

Physical freak who replaces Trevor Pryce on the edge.

Indianapolis at #30 is intriguing. Is Edge coming back? there's no RB here for them to take but Addai - do they reach? Do they sign an OL?

This is the correct pick. No way they'd take Mangold when they just resigned Nalen.

Scott right here. If not D Line. Seahawks pick next so I'm not recommending anyone I like or need.

I didn't see that until after I posted this, but Nalen is in his 12th year. I just think Mangold is tailor-made for Denver, but I'm glad they didn't take him, as it means he's likely still there for Pittsburgh at #32 if they decide to go that way.

their guard play is what killed them in the playoffs. What about Jean-Gilles?

DB?

Cant think of Dline that would be value here. Oline? Gilles? Not really their style. Dont need a center, IIRC.

Addai makes some sense. Go with a DB.

Good move laying off Mangold, The Ponies already have their OC in Ben Hamilton. Guy was an All-American Center @ UMinn and has been playing OG waiting for his chance.

One of the remaining tackles? Gilles? Maybe Ernie Sims?

I agree that Mangold to Denver makes a lot of sense. But the value that Kiwi represents at 29 is too much to pass up.

Colts have two undersized journeymen guards who overachieved for much of the year but got stomped by SD and Pitt-- solid 3-4 Ds. I think Guard is a good call. Peyton did complain remember?

Jean-Gilles? O'Callaghan (converted)? Colledge could also convert.

Colts:

With Maroney gone they don't go in the RB direction. OT is possible since Glenn is getting old and Diem was a disappointment last year. They still can take the best defensive player on the board if the guy is fast and can fit in a 4-3 "Cover 2" scheme.

Maybe they should go OG but I don't think they will in round 1.

Who do you like here then?

Charles Spencer? Gilles seems too much of a road grader. Not really Indy style.
It shocks me he's moved up this much. EG is a Pitt guy, maybe he can decide between the collegian from Pitt and the others.

I really don't have much insight into the actual players right now - I'm really praying Maroney slips to the Colts at #30 in the real draft if/when they don't re-sign Edge. I'm just giving a blue-print of what the Colts may do.

I can't believe J. Scott fell this far and Indy is screwing around with a guard.

Here's where personal opinion differs from accepted scouting, but I personally would convert O'Callaghan in a heartbeat. He is bigger and faster than Jean-Gilles and much better pass protecter. Do most see him that way? Not sure. I know I'm not alone, but Max is a fine pick too.

I like the Colledge idea. He's definitely a guy who could slide into the last 3 picks of RD1 ala Logan Mankins last year...

Their safeties struggled some this past year. Sanders has the potential to be a beast, though.

Corner?
Jason David was okay, but he could be replaced. There's probably areas of greater need, though.

Great point. I would take Scott and figure it out later. Move Diem. He played some guard and got hurt doing it, I think... agains the Bolts, right? Scott is the best lineman left.

Corner is possible if they want to move Marlin Jackson to safety (which they said is possible).

OK, the value here is at OT, not OG.

With the 30th pick, the Colts select Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas

Colts could use an upgrade on the line, and while the biggest need is up the middle, Scott projects to be a potential franchise LT and is simply the best player available here.

On to the Seahawks at #31....

Hey EG: :penalty:

Seahawks Needs: Safety, WR, Speed Rusher in that order. If they think tehy can get a safety in the second round they would go Holmes here for sure since he dropped this far. Eagles take Holmes at 14 anyway but we are mocking. I'll break a tiebreaker but here are the guys:

Santonio Holmes WR Ohio St.

Darnell Bing S USC

Manny Lawson DE NC State

Broderick Bunkley DT Florida St.
