2006 NFL DRAFT (1 Viewer)

Here goes the Cromartie bashing....
SOD imo.
 When FSU coaches say "best athlete we've had since Deion", you better pay attention.

EXACTLY what the Chargers need. Adding McCree at safety and Cromartie at corner should go a long way to shoring up the pass defense.

Now the Chargers go OL for the rest of the draft....
If Michael Johnson had played football at FSU, they would have said that about him too. Doesnt affect his ability to play Corner though.
Honestly, I've been watching FSU football all my life. He's one of the most phyiscally gifted players I've ever seen here. I was pretty sick when I heard he'd miss the entire year.
I believe you, and I think its entirely possible he'll be a great CB with some coaching. But him being a great athlete does nothing to justify the pick right now. Of course, GMs have justified more with less, so....
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Ok, then how does SD justify picking him, since being a "great athlete" does nothing to justify selecting players in professional athletic drafts.
If you'd like to put that into english, Id be happy to answer it.

Why am I not surprised that the one 49er fan in the crowd is sporting a TO jersey
Well thats cause they havent had a player since then that warranted NFL making a jersey.
pretty much accurate. You can probably get a Julian Peterson jersey online if you really look around.

This kid has an incredible story.  Came to the States when he was 11 from Liberia.  Someone easy to root for.
His backstory is amazing...TSN had a great article about him and the horrors of his life thus far. However, that doesnt change the fact that KC reached for a weak, slow DE they could have gotten 10 picks later.
You really don't have to be but so fast to be a d-lineman.I know guys like Peppers and Freeney are exciting, but the QB is a whopping 5 yards away from you. You don't need a 4.5 40 to rush the QB.
Id love to see you say that straight-faced to a football coach. If he didnt laugh you out of the room, hed probably punch you.
Good point, a 3rd option would be hed just roll his eyes at you, before laughing at you and/or punching you.

Ahead of Williams?

I'm a Gophers homer and Maroney booster, but I never expected that.

Did NE forget DW was on the board?
I would have to look back in the Patriots thread we have been keeping this offseason. I don't think they actually had Williams in.I just read both profiles on Williams and Maroney, and I really am not surprised with the pick now...

I think the Patriots just got a great player. I like it too as I'm a closet NE fan, for the AFC anyway.

So glad I didn't trade for that 1.01 in dynasty now. :D
Why?
Maroney in NE, Williams/White in Indy/Car/NYG/NYJ/Jack/Pitt possibly.
That was somewhat predicted anyways. Why does that change your perception is what I'm wondering. The talent difference between Bush and the rest is still huge and he went to a team with a pretty good offense surrounding him, in a dome on the fast track.

Well, if its a question, perhaps divide it into two sentences, instead of one giant, unreadable, long sentence, and then use a question mark.If its a statement, just try to say something less stupid.

Because:1. I think Bush's value is greatly reduced in the eyes of most FFers in NO rather than Hou. Right or wrong I'm rather certain this will be the case.

2. It's one thing to think this ideal situations could happen to the other RBs, it's a totally different one to see it unflod before your eyes.

Haha, yes, I have nothing. Good thing DEs dont have to run down RBs...and its awesome that the NFL has that rule where once QBs drop back, they can't run away from pass rushers, or throw the ball before the DE lumbers over to him.

I'm not understanding this at all.Competition of aging hurt RB vs competition of younger hurt RB who would be a factor in the receiving game even as a backup.

Hey Capella. I think I found your pissing match.
Nah, this is just what happens when Tgunz loses his way to the Free-for-All and tries to discuss something football related. Seems like hes been teaching KRS some of his football knowledge along the way too.

I don't either, but from what I see out there most FFers still think DMac is a great RB.

Hey man, it's all about Michael Bennet. ;) I'd think now is the time to buy Deuce. Bush's value hasn't fallen, but I agree that IF the backs go to ideal spots, the 1.02-4 become relatively more valuable.

Here's my statement: Athletic talent is overwhelmingly the most important factor that determines draft picks in any professional sports leagues.Your statement that the Chargers can't justify their Cromartie selection with his "athletic talent" is ludicrious.
