JohnDoe (via PM) selects:

1.15: Ronnie Brown

Hear-the-Footsteps (who hates the 16th pick) selects:

1.16: Kevin Jones

2.01: Reggie Bush (please note that I am not comfortable with this pick)

Edit to add: JohnDoe did not PM me his next pick.

:banned: I want to personally thank both of you knuckleheads for selecting "the next comming I and II" prior to my 2nd selection...I might not have let sanity prevail at that point, and instead might have gone "all in" on a guy who doesn't know where he'll call home in September!
Personally I was only going to do it if I could get a solid RB performer with my 1st rounder and I think I got that with Rudi.

duely noted...in a regular scoring format I'd certainly concur with that approach, but with not needing to pick starters, my strategy changes alittleany of those 3 sitting there at the bottom of the round would have been very tempting...causing a u-turn in how I thought the first few rounds would play out for me

good luck!

I actually view it as a less risky move in this format. Rookies sometimes are worked into the lineup gradually as the year goes on, getting more and more touches if they perform well. In this format you get to take advantage of that instead of trying to figure out what week (for example) Cohwer will play White more than Parker.

Glumpy disappear again? :shrug:oh, as an FYI guys....my schedule is alittle wierd, so anyone a pick or 2 away in the evening/overnight go ahead and shoot me a PM w/a short listI'm up around 2AM eastern every morning, delivering your "Sports Section"--I can get those picks entered, so that we can move on in a timely mannerright now we're a round up on WSL-I---let's keep it that way!

nope! Lost dibs on the pooter for awhile while my son was doing homework.Too bad we're on opposite ends of the draft--I'm usually up at odd times myself.

God knows I'm totally unprepared for this one and until I get a board set up this is really going to be winging it....

Of course--y'all made the question of RB's easy--they're gone!

Oh well...there's other positions....2.04 TE Antonio Gates

PM'ing Rudy

Huge production! Great pick.

All I gotta say is:

Would love to hear some commentary on these picks.
Are you talking to me?!! :hophead: My commentary is easy....no stud RB's left so gotta look for production elsewhere:

Steve Smith: A homer pick, and the offense is built around him. He's likely to go off any time...

My only regret is that I traded the keeper rights for him to BnB two years ago.

Antonio Gates: BnB said it all--somebody I can expect production from--hopefully enough to make it worth a second rounder.

Basically shooting for the big strike given few other options that thrilled me at pick 13.

Had I been better prepared I might have reconsidered though, seeing who others have snagged since then....

Nope not at all. I love your Pick.

I decided to go with RB/RB with my picks rather than take a QB/WR/TE in round 2 due to the fact that I felt the drop off between my RB selection in Rd 2 vs Rd 3 was a lot greater. I went young to try and get some semi consistant production. What was left on the board in Rd 1 has injury questions (K. Jones seems to have a problem staying healthy) or I was uncomfortable taking at that slot due to age. I am gambling with Brown that Rasta Ricky does not cut into his time again this year. I have a feeling that Ricky will find a new home (at best) or that Brown will get more than 1/2 the carries in the RBBC. I went with the rookie RB who I felt had the most upside in Williams. He stands a good shot at starting wherever he ends up (even with that bad OL in GB). He was RB 17 off the board. Hopefully he will out produce that draft posistion at the end of the year.

2.5 Peyton Manning

Not a big Manning fan, but can't pass him with the 6 pts per TD.

Can't comment much with the two other RBs I considered on the board, but if they're still there, then maybe I made the right pick. Would have picked White ahead of Bush and Williams. I love him just about anywhere he lands. Would not have picked him without getting Rudi in the 1st. He is a rock, very consistent and trustworthy. Thought Glumpy would take him. Once I got him, I thought I would shock people by taking White over Bush and Williams because I thought for sure the 2 guys left would have been picked. When they weren't I hesitated for a minute and almost picked one of them, but decided to go with my gut and take White.

Gates would have been my grab had he lasted to here. Ah well.2.06 RB Deuce McAllisterAdd to my injury risk, but he's the last of the RB's I see without significant question marks regarding time sharing.pming bss

Can't really comment on my picks right now since others I was considering are still on the board.I will say that in this format and as the 16th pick - I almost felt like I had little choice but to go RB-RB. My 3rd round pick is the 48th guy off the board and there will not be any starting RBs left at that point. Considering there should still be some talent left at QB/WR/TE at the 48th pick - and again, practically nothing at RB - I felt I had to go with the RBs that exhibited the most potential.Sure they both have question marks.Kevin Jones did not come close to fulfilling the expectations that everyone had for him this past season. In addition, he was injured for parts of the season. And Reggie Bush has proven nothing on the NFL level and his team is still unknown. Sure, I know all of this - obviously. But those are the breaks when you pick 16th. If there were any stud RBs left that did not have any question marks at that point - trust me, I'd have been on them. But LJ, Tomlinson, Alexander, Edge, etc were all gone.

Wow, the number of RB questions loom large. So, I'll go WR here. If the 3rd year for WRs is somehow magical, just think what this WR can do, given what he produced in his 2nd year.

2.08 LARRY FITZGERALD

We're working with an 8 hour clock with it turned off from midnight to 8 AM EST I believe. I think he's already timed out but you can give him a little more time if you like. He can certainly be skipped at this point though.

Based on what's happened in the past I would encourage everyone stick to the clock and all rules to avoid arguments and favortism. Things will go much smoother if you do.

Bri---timed out...can pick any time

Bass---on deck

Pimpin'AE---in the hole

Quick question. Will Bri be on a 4hr clock from now on because he timed out? IIRC this is how we did it in SSL and MBSL.
