2007 Draft Results (2 Viewers)

OK, as long as you are granting wishes.I'd like to be a little bit taller...

OK, if you can't help there, how about: Is there anywhere out there that has combine stats and/or pro day stats compiled with height/weight?

I'd love to see a RELIABLE source for this. Seems if you go looking out there a guy can be anywhere from 5-11 to 6-1, between 178 and 212 pounds and run the 40 in either 4.38 or 4.52

I'd love to know of any trustworthy spots out there for this data.

And if anyone can help with the taller thing, that'd be cool too...

This is a cool site, thanks.I appreciate the link, I'll be reading there for a while, but this is a good example of what I am talking about.

It says CJ ran a 4.4 at the combine, I thought he ran a 4.35?

and it says Ginn ran a 4.4 at the combine. he didn't run did he?

and it says he ran a 4.28 on campus, but that must not mean pro day right? cuz he ran a 'slow' 4.38 there I thought.

I like the 'on campus' I guess if it means their fastest timed 40 on campus, it's good info, but that's a bit hard to understand.

I don't mean to complain, I really like this link BTW, and I am a big believer in getting as much info as I can, it's just that I would love to have a place I KNOW has all the info correct, you know?

Thanks for the props - you can prolly tell by my name that I'm in pretty tight with the owner :lmao:

I have an e-mail into the guy that wrote the bios but I believe all measurements and times were taken from NFL.com

I'll PM you with the source for sure though.

Stats and measurables were taken from:

http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles

Varying 40 times are the result of the fact that players have dozens of stopwatches on them. You're not going to come up with a perfectly TRUE 40 time. Stick with major media like Sportsline and NFL.com and you won't go too far wrong.

These are combined (best results) combine and pro day results with height weight ranked pre-nfl draft:

Also have measurables on kickers. Coz it matters how many times a kicker can bench 250lbs.

Cool stuff man, thanks for the hard work!

I love this stuff.

Just to nitpick (man, I'm really a whiner aren't I? Complain cuz my ice cream is cold...) I kinda wish we had a column for just combine numbers (to compare apples to apples) rather than fast track pro day numbers that can make a guy look faster and then another column for best time kinda thing.

I HATE it when guys don't run at the combine, then throw up a blazing pro day...

I would love to see a history of this stuff, so we could go back and see what Fitz, or Holt etc. looked like as a rookie. Even cooler would be a site like Fantasy Trader (link above) that had a history so we could see what guys were saying about the prospects, past and present, make it sortable, with the stats and such. Add in a cold beer, soft pretzel and some spicy mustard and I might even quit whining...

Sounds like a challenge that could be taken up by bloom and the draft guys crew Will. :(

ETA - I hear you on the apples to oranges issue. However sometimes a guy just has a bad day. If the player repeatedly puts up numbers in one range but does somthing different at the combine.. what do you trust?

Personaly I like the combined numbers as a better indication of the players capabilities.

Exactly! I'd love to see those guys take on a challenge like this.I could see this as a way of enticing a guy to pay a yearly fee to access this database too (if anyone were thinking about a plan like that eventually...) :confused:I used to keep a huge Word document (actually 1 per position) where I cut and pasted everything I could find about a guy. So Calvin would have 11 pages of quotes and breakdowns, then Meachem, then Bowe, etc. but it got so big and ugly (and I was really bad about attributing the quote to a page or source so I had no idea who said what) so I started just putting links in, but the links get broken and moved or gone etc. within a month sometimes, never mind a year or more, so that was not the answer. And then I had a PC meltdown and lost it all anyway. 5 years worth! I was sad...Bummed me out cuz it was a mess but it was fun to see how high peple were on Duckett and Green etc. and see who was under the radar.I also had an Excel spreadsheet, where I took player rankings from anywhere I could find and averaged them out to get a kind of concensus on every guy. I did 1 tab per position, and 1 tab for overall. I found it most helpful to use the predraft rankings for this, then compare them to what the rankings were after the draft, so a guy that jumps way up based on who drafted him has a little perspective as you can see where everyone put him before he got the great spot. (that kinda helped me avoid JJ Arington among others over the years...)Problem with that was I was taking anybody's rankings, so the USC homer could just put out rankings based on his own bias and I weighted it the same as Great Blue or Ourlads etc. which didn't feel right. The other thing was it was a nightmare to keep up as some sites update their rankings weekly or more...It would be cool to identify the 10 best (or 15 or 25, whatever) rankings sites and then only use them. Kind of a rank the rankers thing. (I said rankers!) I know Huddle puts out a best of the rankings page but I don't really like the way they score that. 1 point for every guy ranked in the top 100 who gets drafted in the top 100. So you rank player A as a top 5 prospect, he gets drafted 99th, and you get a point. Does not really tell me you are a genius.Anyway, just ramblings, but I'd sure love to see someone smarter than I tackle this...

exactly, I wish they could make it mandatory that everyone run at the combine. (everyone has to take the Wonderlic right? can you pass on that? or the interviews...) I know guys would just fake an injury, or really be injured but I can dream...But like you said, it would be nice to see everyone on the same track, with the same stopwatches. But I guess that could kill a guy that runs bad on that 1 day, or has a tight hammy or whatever...No great answer I guess, and I do like to see all the numbers, I still like to know if a guy ran a 4.28 on his own track, but I'm a geek...

It might not be showing everything that you guys are looking for... but this user-friendly interface allows you to search/sort by the stats you want to...

2007 version

2006 version
This is what I want, but in an Excel format.
Yeah, I've tried to cut and paste that with no luck, I assume it is designed that way just to stop us from doing it.FWIW, I believe all this data is DraftScout.com's pay material. You can get it earlier from them by paying, and I assume you can then cut and paste it. I just wait for them to put it out with USA today for free.
