Going to be a lot of guys holding their breath this week. Count me in the Romo/Warner/Ryan club. At least Breaston is my only other player with a bye and I get Fast Willie back this week against Cincy. If TJ can get 3 TD's against them, there's no reason Willie can't get 4. And Tomlinson? If you're listening, it's time to show why I spent $60 on you, please.actually 125 of them have at least cutler as 3rd, but i'm not planning on checking the full list of possibilities for alternates. It's going to be a rough road for those that only have one backup that hasn't seen his bye yet, but going only one week without a QB isn't necessarily a death sentence. Seriously hurts you, but not an automatic out.Yep...most of these teams will be packing their bags...just like myself. It was a good run!993 teams still alive with Romo and Warner. Gonna be a huge cut in week 7....
Ouch. This team goes to show you that you NEED depth in this contest. No QB with Romo out and Ryan on Bye. Westbrook is on bye as well so you're relying on your WR's to get you through week 7.I like my team alot just because it is alot different than most if I make it to week Three look out!!!!!!

I'm a Romo/Cutler only guy. Things aren't looking good.More stats on Tony Romo owners and upcoming byes...- 1757 live teams still left have Tony Romo. He scored very well this week, so the cutoff % should be quite low.- Of those 1757... - 993 own Warner, 307 own Ryan, 70 own McNabb, 57 own Garrard, 4 own Leinart, and 1 owns Redman (week 7) - 257 own Cutler, 121 own Orton, 49 own Jackson, 42 own Rodgers, and 8 own Grossman (week 8) - 177 own Delhomme, 142 own Brees, 47 own Rivers, and 3 own Smith (week 9) - 46 own Campbell, 50 own Garcia, and 9 own Palmer (week 10) - 38 own Kitna, 25 own Young, 20 own Croyle, 17 own Edwards, 5 own Troy Smith, 3 own Brady, 3 own Huard, 2 own McCown, 1 owns Hasselbeck, and 1 owns Clemens (injured or non-starter)I have no way of checking to see if those who own Romo and one of the other QB's listed above own more than 2 QB's. But, as Romo was a top QB, I think most of the owners who selected other decent QB's (McNabb, Garrard, Cutler, Rodgers, Delhomme, Brees, Rivers, Palmer, Kitna, Young, Edwards, Brady, and Hasselbeck) may very well have only went with 2 QB's.
Yes you do need depth just like any fantasy league; and its just as important as the top line guys. I took 3 QBs, Romo, Schaub and Ryan so would have been golden wit the Romo injury. But my WR strategy got kicked in the behind, with Colston, Chambers and Winslow hurt this week, add an underperforming Tedd Ginn adn Courtney Taylor, a bye for Santonio and Robert Royale, = TOASTOuch. This team goes to show you that you NEED depth in this contest. No QB with Romo out and Ryan on Bye. Westbrook is on bye as well so you're relying on your WR's to get you through week 7.I like my team alot just because it is alot different than most if I make it to week Three look out!!!!!!

Ah, here is my 2nd choice...http://subscribers.footballguys.com/contest/2008/100265.phpHere is my pick to win it all...

No, this is not my team. In fact, the only players I have in common are Ricky Williams, Steve Slaton, Brandon Marshall, Derrick Mason, Steve Breaston, Dustin Keller, and the Dolphins D.
He is one of only 145 remaining Peyton Manning owners, and one of only 10 remaining Ronnie Brown owners. And he is the only one left with both.
A lttle light at WR for my tastes. 6 deep at RB means giving up ground elsewhere. Hit right on your RBs and 4-5 is plenty.Ah, here is my 2nd choice...http://subscribers.footballguys.com/contest/2008/100265.phpHere is my pick to win it all...

This team seems strong and injury-free. Could've used the $26 on Maurice Morris, Leon Washington, and Reggie Williams better, but time will tell. Minimized the pain during bye weeks very well.
I am totally on board with this.Looks like week 8 will be my doom, assuming I get by week 7, as I will have no QB points. Back to the three QB formula next year...
Even though I haven't needed all 3, it's nice to have Delhomme, Cutler and Warner.
Skated by again at 145.10. The dreaded week 7 looms... Part of me feels ok about scoring low early in this contest. As cyclical as FF can be, better to score low now, and hope your players come alive as the cut lines get higher. Don't know if that's more fact or feeling, but it's working for me at the moment. Was just looking a little more closely. I survived in part due to Rice and Ricky W. having their best games of the year. How do you like them apples?
I have been averaging 176 per week, but using the same logic as you with Warner, Turner and Breaston out next week I am looking at 138 (forgot byes) so not too badQB: Warner, PenningtonRB: Turner, SYoung, Stewart, DWilliams, MMorris, RWilliams, Rice, SlatonWR: AJohnson, CaJohnson, SHolmes, KWalter, Muhammad, BreastonTE: ZMiller, FasanoPK: Prater, StoverDT: Vikings, Jetsaverage of my top performers (that is average of each player, taking the best, summing 'em together) who will be playing next week.109.81333Looking a bit bleak-QG

The team with 14 kickers is STILL ALIVE, despite the fact that he is taking TWO guaranteed zeros every week.153.40 You can show up anytime and start helping Colston.

I went as far as to tell S. Moss to take a break for the last 2 weeks to save some for later in the season. I think he is taking that a bit too far.Skated by again at 145.10. That is amazing and embarrassing for everyone who has been cut. There is literally no room for error at any other position than kicker - everyone else counts every week. If he somehow makes it to week 10, he will be missing Barber, Portis, S. Moss and Witten with no subs and it will be curtains. Here's my pick

My team has been doing well. I was in the top 10 week 4 I think. I agree. I actually went 4 defenses (Buf, Hou, NO, SF) and have also scored in double digits 5 of 6 weeks. Defense is such a crap shoot, my highest scoring defense is my $1 SF Def with 47 pts.Synthesizer said:An update on the "you must pick 3 defenses rule"..... I spent $6 total on 3 defenses (Buf, NO, StL) and I'm getting 12 pts per week from that position. I've scored in double-digits at that position in 5 of the 6 weeks. 3 defenses is the sweet spot at that position.
While QBs and other skill positions can become injured, defenses only have bye weeks, so taking more than 2 defenses is overkill, unless you're taking the longshot play of DEFBC.Bears $5Rams $1Edited to add weekly scoring: 12/11/8/7/14/16An update on the "you must pick 3 defenses rule"..... To play devil's advocate, it's true that Ds don't have injuries, but they have significant players who do. Witness Shawn Merriman and Bob Sanders. Now, personally, I took 2 $1 Ds, MIA and JAX, but I wonder if $1 hadn't been better spent on another $1 D instead of longshot WR like Hagan. While QBs and other skill positions can become injured, defenses only have bye weeks, so taking more than 2 defenses is overkill, unless you're taking the longshot play of DEFBC.Bears $5Rams $1An update on the "you must pick 3 defenses rule"..... I don't think 2 defenses gives you enough chances to score on a weekly basis. You've been relying almost entirely on the Bears and if the Rams had scored that 16 pts in any of the 5 other weeks, you would have been screwed in week 6 (2 pts by the Bears). Plus you're really thin on those 2 bye weeks. This is an interesting topic for this contest. Forgive me if it has already been discussed. So far for me the defense by committee has worked perfectly.Wk 1 - Buf 15 ptsWk 2 - SF 13 ptsWk 3 - SF 8 ptsWk 4 - NO 12 ptsWk 5 - NO 13 ptsWk 6 - Hou 10 ptsTotal - 71 ptsI personally think it makes more sense to spend money on quality at other positions, and give multiple defenses a chance for a big week.
