QB - Tony Romo - 23

QB - Jake Delhomme - 12

QB - Kurt Warner - 5

Standard 3 you have been receiving with Romo/Delhomme/Warner... For $5 at Warner, I looked it as a no-brainer, but then again I feel comfortable with Romo/Delhomme as security.

RB - Marion Barber III - 40

RB - Edgerrin James - 27

RB - Thomas Jones - 21

RB - Ricky Williams - 8

RB - Ray Rice - 4

RB - Steve Slaton - 1

Aimed for 3 decent RBs as the foundation and grabbed cheap RBs for the upside (Slaton/Rice/Williams), which represents potential starters.

WR - Brandon Marshall - 23

WR - Jerricho Cotchery - 23

WR - Lee Evans - 21

WR - Muhsin Muhammad - 5

WR - DeSean Jackson - 4

WR - Mike Furrey - 3

WR - Antonio Bryant - 2

Figured I could go with marshall being out since I believe muhsin will put up numbers while smith is out. This is definitely the weakest area of the team. Really hoping some of the cheap ones pan out.

TE - Vernon Davis - 16

TE - Dustin Keller - 2

I like Davis and Keller this year.

PK - David Akers - 3

PK - John Kasay - 2

Kickers... enough said...

TD - Buffalo Bills - 3

TD - New Orleans Saints - 2

I like the playoff schedule for these 2 teams, hoping I make it that far.

QB - Jon Kitna - 14QB - Jay Cutler - 14QB - Jeff Garcia - 8RB - Fred Taylor - 18RB - DeAngelo Williams - 15RB - Chris Johnson - 14RB - Ricky Williams - 8RB - Leon Washington - 7RB - Ray Rice - 4RB - Lorenzo Booker - 2RB - Steve Slaton - 1WR - Randy Moss - 47WR - Calvin Johnson - 25WR - Jerricho Cotchery - 23WR - Antonio Bryant - 2WR - Maurice Stovall - 1TE - Jeremy Shockey - 18TE - Vernon Davis - 16PK - Nick Folk - 5PK - Mike Nugent - 1TD - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4TD - Carolina Panthers - 3Total value: 250
As I look through the various submissions, this team looks like it has a chance to be a good one.

Looks like just about everyone has:RB - Ricky Williams - 8RB - Ray Rice - 4RB - Steve Slaton - 1
I think most would agree that Slaton, Rice and R Williams were the most apparent "best values" at RB. From one perspective, you can look at expected value as projected fpts per dollar (of budget). For RBs that you could get under $16:D Williams - 148.9/15 = 9.9J Norwood - 123/14 = 8.8Br. Jackson - 94.5/14 = 6.8Ch. Taylor - 120.7/14 = 8.6Chris Johnson - 146.5/14 = 10.5M Morris - 115.5/11 = 10.5F Jones - 115.4/11 = 10.5J Fargas - 114.7/11 = 10.4P Thomas - 67.7/10 = 6.8D McCallister - 86.6/9 = 9.6K Watson - 136.7/9 = 15.2S Morris - 77.9/9 = 8.7R Williams - 144.3/8 = 18.0K Jones - 73.9/8 = 9.2W Dunn - 88.9/7 = 12.7L Washington - 108.8/7 = 15.5K Faulk - 72.9/6 = 12.2L Betts - 77.1/6 = 12.9D Ward - 76.3/5 = 15.3L Jordan - 58.8/5 = 11.8R Rice - 93/4 = 23.3A Bradshaw - 66.2/4 = 16.6M Bush - 54.1/3 = 18.0Booker - 68.8/2 = 34.4Duckett - 16.2/1 = 16.2Leonard - 44.6/1 = 44.6Slaton - 112.0/1 = 112.0In general, the ratio of fpts per dollar decreases as dollars increase by player. Taking this into account, the best values appear to be:Slaton ($1)Leonard ($1)Booker ($2)R Rice ($4)L Washington ($7)R Williams ($8)K Watson ($9)C Johnson ($14)D Williams ($15)With Slaton, Rice, R Williams, and C Johnson being the very best values, compared to the players closest to them. The next best values appear to be Booker, L Washington, K Watson, and D Williams.For RBs between $16 and $25, the best values in order were W Parker, Th Jones, F Taylor, and M Forte.For RBs between $26 and $35, the best values in order were C Portis and E Graham.A good low-cost strategy ($71 total) for RBs would be a roster of:W Parker ($23)Th Jones ($21)C Johnson ($14)R Williams ($8)R Rice ($4)S Slaton ($1)(Wish I had thought of this last night)

They might not enforce it, but you better believe If (for some crazy reason) end up being #2 behind the winner, who posted his team after 11:59ET, you BET your butt that I will be suing....

FOR those of YOU that CHANGED your teams after 11:59ET last night, I hope you realize that if you win you WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE PRIZE....

The RULES ARE THE RULES....you need to read them before hand.... :excited:
I don't think they have ever enforced the rule as long as the system allows a resubmit. The only DQ's have come from people who have manipulated the system to allow their team over the cap (several years ago).At least nobody can complain about submitting right at the deadline and just missing, then begging for mercy, they had somewhere near 5 extra hours from the looks of things.
I submitted mine on time, but if someone else submitted theirs at 1AM just how the heck would you even know?Even if your hypothetical were to play itself out good luck with that, whether you would be successful or not that's exactly the type of incident that could kill the contest.

There is absolutely no obligation for FBGs to even have this contest in the first place. Yet you're willing to sue them over it. :goodposting:
I think the easy solution is for them to just refund his subscription and be done with him. Problem solved. People like him are the reason that we now have over a million lawyers and have the term "lawyer up".
But I'm the lawyer in this case... :lmao:
That is nice, they still have no obligation towards you and can cut your subscription per their discretion. Also it really depends on what type you are for that to be relevant.
I'm the type that can really be a pain in the butt when people break the rules...It is not a big deal. My team is terrible anyway. But I hope the rules are enforced. For everyone's sake....
You know sometimes when a business does something nice for their customers they find it isnt worth the hassle when dealing with someone like you :lmao:
How come I'm the bad guy? :lmao: All I asked was for people to respect the rules that were posted a long time ago for everyone to see. I'm not asking for anything extraordinary am I?

QB - Jay Cutler - 14

QB - Matt Schaub - 13

QB - Kurt Warner - 5

Just love the value on these three qbs. Really like my chances to have at least one be huge on any given week.

RB - Adrian Peterson - 53

RB - DeAngelo Williams - 15

RB - Ricky Williams - 8

RB - Ray Rice - 4

RB - Ahmad Bradshaw - 4

ADP has the potential to explode like no other. DWilly seems to have learned to pass block, and I really like the Car offense this year. Ricky and Rice, what everyone said. Bradshaw is explosive and runs hard. As a giants homer, I'd be shocked if he doesn't give me more points than my other RB2 options at least 4 times.

WR - Calvin Johnson - 25

WR - Brandon Marshall - 23

WR - Steve Smith - 23

WR - Kevin Walter - 6

WR - Steve Smith - 5

WR - DeSean Jackson - 4

WR - Dwayne Jarrett - 2

Looks like I share the consensus love for Megatron and the Suspendeds. I think my value 4 each have extreme upside.

TE - Kellen Winslow Jr - 28

TE - Robert Royal - 2

TE - Dustin Keller - 2

Winslow is a beast, Kelley is extremely talented, and Royal should have a handful of two td games as the Buf offense continues to improve.

PK - John Kasay - 2

PK - Mike Nugent - 1

See my love of the Car offense, and I am not high at all on thmas jones. Could see the jets settling for FGs a lot.

TD - Minnesota Vikings - 8

TD - Buffalo Bills - 3

Minn is looking incredibly strong against the run, buf has a great schedule and some talent.

Here we go...

QB - Tony Romo - 23

QB - Jay Cutler - 14

QB - Kurt Warner - 5

Like many, flip between brees and romo, wanted another solid qb for any potential down games for romo, and had to have warner even if he plays only a few games. 6pts per TD, means QB values are up and if your QB lays an egg 1 week, you may not survive. I think 3 qb's is the way to go.

RB - LaDainian Tomlinson - 60

RB - Reggie Bush - 33

RB - Derrick Ward - 5

RB - Ray Rice - 4

RB - Steve Slaton - 1

Haven't seen many have LT and Bush...LT is mr. consistent. Possibly kicking myself with not picking Ricky...chose ward instead, who may put up descent #'s. Rice and Slaton as most of you know is great value.

WR - Calvin Johnson - 25

WR - Brandon Marshall - 23

WR - Ted Ginn - 13

WR - Patrick Crayton - 13

WR - Kevin Walter - 6

WR - Derek Hagan - 4

Read all of the posts and probably should have picked 1 additional wr. I am weak here and need marshall and johnson to play well.

TE - Jeff King - 5

TE - Anthony Fasano - 3

TE - Dustin Keller - 2

Just tried to look for value, picked 3...not studs. kinda weak.

PK - Neil Rackers - 3

I went the suicide route with Warner. If Warner does not produce like a stud, I am done. But if he does, I will have a nice group of stud RB's and WR's to go with him. Week 7 is a major concern though, as Orton is my only QB.

QB - Kurt Warner - 5

QB - Matt Ryan - 4

QB - Kyle Orton - 4

With Slaton, Rice, R Williams, and C Johnson being the very best values, compared to the players closest to them. The next best values appear to be Booker, L Washington, K Watson, and D Williams. For RBs between $16 and $25, the best values in order were W Parker, Th Jones, F Taylor, and M Forte.

Don't know about you but the "engages in any conduct detrimental to Footballguys.com" seems like they could. Have fun with your season, if you don't get kicked out before then.

Well, I thought I had a pretty good lineup- then I read Verbal Kint's post in this thread re: the stud TE; oh well, it's still fun, and should be competitive.
Don't believe it. While the 1.5 PPR helps, it's a waste to budget all that money on a top TE. Look at the top 10 finishers from last year. 50% of them had low cost TE's on their roster. The guy who came in second only budgeted $2 towards his TE's. Verbal Knit has no clue what he is talking about. You will be fine.
Dude, why the hate? I wasn't bashing his team, he just commented on my strategy. There's not one winning formula.
But in your post, you made it out that you absolutley needed a top TE to win. That is not true at all. If you did your research, you would have realized this and not posted such ridiculousness!
Funny, Dodds said the exact same thing as me last year.
Then how do you explain that half of the top 10 last year had lost cost TE's? I could care less what Dodds says. Facts are facts. I love how you keep up the facade of thinking you were correct in your statement, when it is the furthest from the truth.

Like everyone, I looked for players who I thought were undervalued either because their circumstance changed. Or were injured last year, out of the NFL, etc.

QB - Donovan McNabb - 16

QB - Matt Schaub - 13

QB - Jake Delhomme - 12

Delhomme has done well and gets disrespected when his problem was an injry he appears recovered from.

McNabb has often been a top 8 QB but has no wide-outs. So i think he will be sporadic, which is what best buddy formats are all about.

On eof these guys should go off each week.

RB - Brandon Jacobs - 32

RB - Thomas Jones - 21

RB - Ahman Green - 16

RB - Ricky Williams - 8

RB - Derrick Ward - 5

RB - Ahmad Bradshaw - 4

RB - Steve Slaton - 1

I think Jacobs has shown he can be a top 10 back. Was tempted with Portis for similer coin, but went with my gut. If healthy, Jacobs could finish as RB5 or RB6. If not healthy, I covered with both his backups.

Thomas Jones I like due to the Favre Factor and O-line. Let's face it, he should be able to put about Ryan Grant type numbers at a discount.

Green and Williams are discounted due to age but both are starters. Hope this is enough to give me adequate RB coverage across weeks.

WR - Jerricho Cotchery - 23

WR - Steve Smith - 23

WR - Lee Evans - 21

WR - Marvin Harrison - 20

WR - Nate Burleson - 18

Bunch of upside guys here. Smith was down because of Carr and suspension (but easy cuts to make early). Harrison could easily be WR 10. Evans looks to improve with better QB play. And Burleson has a lot less competition than when his $ were fixed.

Cothery? See Favre Factor above and expect Greg Jennings numbers.

TE - Ben Utecht - 5

TE - Anthony Fasano - 3

Weak here but went with some hunches.

PK - Mike Nugent - 1

PK - Rian Lindell - 1

PK - Shaun Suisham - 1

Wish I had a 4th....

TD - Buffalo Bills - 3

TD - Carolina Panthers - 3

Good combo

engages in any conduct detrimental to Footballguys.com, the $35,000 Contest
Determining if you were in violation of this clause is up to the sole discreation of FBG.com. Basically they can tell you to have a nice season and there's nothing you can legal do about it. Now you may consider threatening lawsuits a form of fun, but most of us appreciate the fact that the owners run this contest as a freebie to subscribers and we don't appreciate people doing things detrimental to something we enjoy.

Ugh. Denver, GB, and Houston all have byes in week 8. Other than that, however, my blind bye week strategy looks genius.

I don't think people understand...Warner is not going to start all year...not even close.
LOLsays your un biased opinion. He'd probably be cut if he wasnt making so much moneyhe's such a bust that Im surprised the Lions didnt draft him

I finished 7th last year with Owen Daniels and Daniel Graham as my only 2 TEs. Kinda blows the stud TE theory out of the water.

Looks like just about everyone has:

RB - Ricky Williams - 8

RB - Ray Rice - 4

RB - Steve Slaton - 1
I think most would agree that Slaton, Rice and R Williams were the most apparent "best values" at RB. From one perspective, you can look at expected value as projected fpts per dollar (of budget). For RBs that you could get under $16:D Williams - 148.9/15 = 9.9

J Norwood - 123/14 = 8.8

Br. Jackson - 94.5/14 = 6.8

Ch. Taylor - 120.7/14 = 8.6

Chris Johnson - 146.5/14 = 10.5

M Morris - 115.5/11 = 10.5

F Jones - 115.4/11 = 10.5

J Fargas - 114.7/11 = 10.4

P Thomas - 67.7/10 = 6.8

D McCallister - 86.6/9 = 9.6

K Watson - 136.7/9 = 15.2

S Morris - 77.9/9 = 8.7

R Williams - 144.3/8 = 18.0

K Jones - 73.9/8 = 9.2

W Dunn - 88.9/7 = 12.7

L Washington - 108.8/7 = 15.5

K Faulk - 72.9/6 = 12.2

L Betts - 77.1/6 = 12.9

D Ward - 76.3/5 = 15.3

L Jordan - 58.8/5 = 11.8

R Rice - 93/4 = 23.3

A Bradshaw - 66.2/4 = 16.6

M Bush - 54.1/3 = 18.0

Booker - 68.8/2 = 34.4

Duckett - 16.2/1 = 16.2

Leonard - 44.6/1 = 44.6

Slaton - 112.0/1 = 112.0

In general, the ratio of fpts per dollar decreases as dollars increase by player. Taking this into account, the best values appear to be:

Slaton ($1)

Leonard ($1)

Booker ($2)

R Rice ($4)

L Washington ($7)

R Williams ($8)

K Watson ($9)

C Johnson ($14)

D Williams ($15)

With Slaton, Rice, R Williams, and C Johnson being the very best values, compared to the players closest to them. The next best values appear to be Booker, L Washington, K Watson, and D Williams.

For RBs between $16 and $25, the best values in order were W Parker, Th Jones, F Taylor, and M Forte.

For RBs between $26 and $35, the best values in order were C Portis and E Graham.

A good low-cost strategy ($71 total) for RBs would be a roster of:

W Parker ($23)

Th Jones ($21)

C Johnson ($14)

R Williams ($8)

R Rice ($4)

S Slaton ($1)

(Wish I had thought of this last night)
Look at my team! Cough, Cough.Rice didn't make my final cut, as I wanted more strength at WR/TE/Flex. Came close to taking Winslow, but chose not to invest in a top-tier TE1.

QB - Tony Romo - 23

QB - Kurt Warner - 5

QB - Kyle Orton - 4

RB - Willie Parker - 23

RB - Thomas Jones - 21

RB - Chris Johnson - 14

RB - Ricky Williams - 8

RB - Steve Slaton - 1

WR - Larry Fitzgerald - 35

WR - Marques Colston - 30

WR - Brandon Marshall - 23

WR - Marvin Harrison - 20

WR - Reggie Williams - 8

WR - Kevin Walter - 6

TE - Greg Olsen - 10

TE - Anthony Fasano - 3

TE - Robert Royal - 2

TE - Dustin Keller - 2

PK - Mason Crosby - 3

PK - Rob Bironas - 3

TD - Chicago Bears - 5

TD - St. Louis Rams - 1

Thks....see you in the "playoffs" :-)

I think this is the BEST line up so far....Good job Gnik

QB - Tony Romo - 23QB - Kurt Warner - 5QB - Matt Ryan - 4RB - Maurice Jones-Drew - 34RB - Clinton Portis - 33RB - Ricky Williams - 8RB - Jacob Hester - 2RB - Steve Slaton - 1WR - Terrell Owens - 36WR - Brandon Marshall - 23WR - Steve Smith - 23WR - Derrick Mason - 12WR - Derek Hagan - 4WR - DeSean Jackson - 4WR - Craig Davis - 1TE - Alge Crumpler - 11TE - Alex Smith - 5PK - Nate Kaeding - 4PK - Kris Brown - 2TD - Minnesota Vikings - 8TD - New York Giants - 5TD - Houston Texans - 2Total: 250
Might face some trouble in Week 10: Romo, Portis, TO and Mason, plus Warner may or may not still have the starting nod in Arizona.

I like this team. But I think Reggie Bush is way overpriced. I think Thomas Jones at $21 or Willie Parker at $23 will finish with similar stats to Bush.

wasting a valuable roster spot on a player that you know wont be playing all year is not sound strategy.
Almost every team has a a player or two that will not be playing all season either due to injury, suspension, or just because their a backup. Ryan Torain is the obvious one, but C.Taylor is also a huge playing time question mark. The kid could start the first game or two and never be heard from again. He could also start all 16 games, that's why he's worth a shot for $3. Someone doesn't need to start all 16 games for them to be a good value.

Here is mine. I think I've got a winner!!

QB - Donovan Mcnabb - 16

QB - Jay Cutler - 14

QB - Matt Ryan - 4

Wanted to go with 2 top notch QB's that could blow up any given week. Went back and forth with Warner and Ryan but decided to go with the rookie since I know he'll be playing all year and is not injury prone. Mcnabb is the risky play here because of his injury history but could have a stellar year.

RB - Reggie Bush - 33

RB - Clinton Portis - 33

RB - Chris Johnson - 14

RB - Ricky Williams - 8

RB - Ray Rice - 4

RB - Steve Slaton - 1

Couldn't pass up the duo of Bush and Portis. I think Bush is due for a breakout year (if he can stay healthy) and Portis is the workhorse back. Love Chris Johnson's upside and of course I went with Ricky, Rice and Slaton like most other people.

WR - Steve Smith - 23

WR - Jericho Cotchery - 23

WR - Brandon Marshall - 23

WR - Derrick Mason - 12

WR - Kevin Walter - 6

WR - Deion Branch - 6

Went back and forth here on if I should go with 6 or 7 receivers. Decided to go with 6 very good receivers that are pretty much guaranteed to get plenty of targets as well as some big plays. Took a gamble taking Marshall and Smith since they both won't be playing Week 1 and Smith in Week 2 but decided it was worth the risk since I am confident my other receivers can pick it up. Mason is severely undervalued and I can't believe I haven't seen him on many rosters. Yes, he plays for a crappy team with a crappy offense but he gets a ton of targets and receptions and since WR's get 1pt per reception, couldn't pass him up. Branch is a gamble but is also severely undervalued if he can remain healthy. Walter for 6 bucks is a steal!!

TE - Alge Crumpler - 11

TE - John Carlson - 4

TE - Dustin Keller - 2

Decided to go with 3 TE's this year instead of two. I think all of these guys have a ton of upside. Crumpler will be leaned on heavily by Young since they "still" don't have a good receiving core in Tennesee. Carlson will get plenty of looks with the injuries to Seattle at WR and Keller looks like an extreme talent and I think that Favre is going to be hooking up with him several times this year.

PK - Nate Kaeding - 4

PK - Matt Prater - 1

Wanted 1 top notch kicker and took a wild card on Prater since he has such a big leg and might boot a couple of 50+ yd field goals for 6 pts!!

DF - Jaguars - 5

DF - Bills - 3

Just went with 2 defenses since I believe both of these are undervalued and should put up respectable numbers each week.

Overall, I think I got terrific value out of all the positions. I would of liked to have 7 WR's but since I've got 3 good TE's as well as good depth at RB, I think that either the TE or RB position will be used as my FLEX quite often if some of my WR's falter.

My team is fairly terrible. I did it when the contest opened thinking I'd come back to it, but never did.

QB - Donovan McNabb - 16

QB - Tarvaris Jackson - 9

I actually do like my QBs. McNabb to me represents a ton of value. Looking at the posts of other team, I'm surprised he didn't get more love. Jackson was a weird pick for me. Not sure what I was thinking.

RB - Marion Barber III - 40

RB - Michael Turner - 28

RB - LenDale White - 23

RB - Lorenzo Booker - 2

RB - Jamaal Charles - 2

I'm probably the only doofus with Lendale on my team. What sucks even more is Willie Parker cost 23 also!!!! Looks like I missed on my sleeper RBs too. Both of them were total flyers in case Johnson or Westbrook gets hurt.

WR - Terrell Owens - 36

WR - Brandon Marshall - 23

WR - Chris Chambers - 17

WR - Donte Stallworth - 12

WR - Antwaan Randle El - 4

WR - Mike Walker - 3

WR - Devery Henderson - 2

WR - Sinorice Moss - 2

WR - Brandon Jones - 2

Love my top 2, but the rest of them suck. Just completely suck. I should be banned from next years contest for assembling a group of receivers like this.

TE - Vernon Davis - 16

TE - Anthony Fasano - 3

I like Davis to have a huge year, but that's not going to save me.

PK - Ryan Longwell - 3

PK - Joe Nedney - 1

Who the heck knows if either will pan out.

TD - Carolina Panthers - 3

TD - Philadelphia Eagles - 3

Carolina D was a bad pick, especially for 3, but Philly D has potential.

I would be shocked if I didn't miss the week 1 cut.

Exactly Crosseyed! This Verbal Knit guy has no clue whta he is talking about. He is just trying to justify why he wasted all that money on a top TE when he didn't have to.

As I look through the various submissions, this team looks like it has a chance to be a good one.
Biggest problem that I see is that week four this entry will have J. Cotchery, A. Bryant and M. Stovall at WR as both of the others are off week 4.

Based on what?It doesn't look good to me at all. Absolutely awful at RB makes it tough to win here.

Better hope those WR's blow up every week (which they usually don't). Lots of options at RB and no real studs. Lots of possible value with the RB picks, but no slam dunks to offset the short WR staff with possible down weeks.
