2008 DTV Sunday ticket and superfan deals (1 Viewer)

Customer for about 3 years. Just called in and got my current Premium Service comped, SuperFan for free, HBO and similar free for 4 months, and then I pay for the Sunday Ticket.

It basically works out that I pay for the Ticket and DirecTV gives me the rest of my programming free for the duration of the NFL season.

DirecTV came out, but I couldn't get a signal. Too many trees!

But, i did convince a buddy of mine to let me use his SuperCast login!
Same situation here. DTV came out years ago and had the tree problem, too many. I told my brother I needed his account number so I could take his online account and watch. I went to download the application to set it up for Sunday, but it reads, "Download Available Soon". Did you come across this? Is this where I go? And is this download all I need?
Ok so the download was available, but I ran into another problem. My brother has been with DTV since the beginning so all he gets is the ST, the stand alone option. They were all ready to offer me Superfan for free, enabling me the internet access, but since I had a stand alone package, I couldn't get it, the 2 women couldnt give it to me without a base package. They were then going to give me a 29.99 base package, then credit my account for the ST, Superfan, and base package. HOWEVER, next year, I would not be able to have the stand alone again, unless I talked to these people again - which is unlikely, obviously. So to make a long story short, I am unwilling to compromise the stand alone option for computer access, especially since it's my brother's account, lol.On another note, is anyone willing to give me or sell me their online capability for the year - so I can watch games? I am willing to pay someone a little bit of money if they let me use their computer login information to watch the games. The catch is I would get access. I think this is only for those who dont use their internet login but have superfan. If you are willing, PM me, we'll chat.

Looks like Supercast is ready for download!

FYI - I've never posted here before as a lurker.... but I read this thread and called DTV

I'm a premiere loaded, long time DTV user that pays on time.

I said CANCEL at the prompt.

I spoke to a woman, explained that I'd like to cancel to take advantage of the new subscriber deal on Premiere/ST

She said I could have Premiere for free for 4 months ($75/mo) in exchange for ST.

I then asked for SF and she gave it to me for free.

When she read off my current bill it was higher than usual b/c of billing cycles so she gave me another $70 credit so my current bill would stay the same.

My bill for next 4 months goes DOWN and I get ST/SF!

I'm a great fan of this forum - but this time you guys actually made me $$$

Wow, am I glad I checked this thread out and just had major SUCCESS with DirecTVBasically, I got more than ST for free just by getting ST :lmao: :lmao: As soon as this lady picked up the call, I knew she sounded cool. Ive only been a DTV customer for 5 months, so I told her I saw the 74.99 deal where new customers are basically getting ST for free, said how I never had ST before and was consdering it but couldnt believe it was 290$$First I got my 5 payments lowered from 74.99 to 57.99 for ST (85$ saved)Then she gave me free DVR for a year (72$ saved)Then she gave me 18$ off my monthly bill for a year (216$ saved) - and I was already getting 18$ off per month in the first place!So.......ST normal cost = 290$Money I just saved = 373$So basically Im getting the ST for free AND saving 83$ on my bills over the next year :excited: :excited: :banned:
:football: Just called up for the 3rd time after I read this post. Had to ask for customer retention. Said I was disappointed that new customers were getting this deal because when I signed up in January the deal was not nearly as good. He immediately said he could give me the new customer deal (no HD DVR though). I then said everyone I know is getting the Superfan for free and he said that he could do that as well. Very painless.Had Total Choice for $60 per month, soon to be $80 per month when discounts run out.Now have Premier Package, NFL Ticket, and Superfan for $74.99 per month.I just need to remember to call January 4 to downgrade package back to total choice.Thank you Yinzer
Did the same thing you did turfman and got the same deal. It was easy as pie. I was paying $45 for a basic package with no movie channels. Now I pay $75 for their biggest package all the movie channels and ST. Only downside is that they wouldn't give me SF for free. I got a free preview this weekend but that's it. I plan on calling back next week and trying to get the SF added for free. This is great first time get ST for me. Now I can watch my EAGLES !!!!

Did the same thing you guys did. Was already paying $50.00 for Total Choice. For $25/month more, I'll getting Sunday Ticket + movie channels. I do subscribe to DTV's email list and there was an offer that expired 7/31 that gives you free SF. (Might mention that even if a month late)I too have to remember to downgrade in January, but for $100 for ST, you can't beat that. You spend that easily at a bar after a couple times.

What channel is SF on? I can't seam to get it, and, what is it??
Some of the features are on the low 700 channels, like GameMix and Red Zone channel. The hi-def channels are the same as the normal ones, but with a hyphen-1 after the channel number, like 705 and 705-1 for hi-def.Go to your account online to find the supercast.

Why do I need to go to my account online? And, do what?

Had to order SF today. With 1 TV, ST alone isn't worth it. I spent last weekend on the GameMix channel 75% of the time. Anyone check out the online portion of it last weekend? (Worth checking it out?)

With multiple TV's, do you need multiple receivers?? Or can you use a splitter with 1 receiver?

Totally worth it. I only have one TV also. The laptop served as a second TV as it shows every game, including the Red Zone channel, and the stream was actually a little ahead of the HD broadcasts on my TV. I almost cried tears of joy.

I called today to try to get them to give me SF for free. No go yet. But I will keep trying. If I remember right other people were getting SF for free???

I think that was before July 31st. Even then, I think you had to pay the 4 payments of $64 (or whatever the amount was at that time).I just decided to shell out the $100 for SF (because I wasn't crazy about channel flipping all day). $200 total isn't bad for ST&SF IMO (just upgraded from my $50 Total Choice package to the $75 Premier package for 4 months.

I got the following after a 15 minute call:

Free HD service for a year

$10 credit/month for a year

Free HBO, Showtime, Starz and Cinemax for 3 months

Free HD receiver (no additional contract)

Free Super Fan

They will deal if you're persistent.

My call last night. Existing customer for 2 1/2 yrs with 6 mths to go on my contract due to a faulty DVR swap 18 mths ago. I had total choice plus and was paying $55. When all was said and done I retained total choice plus for $55 got an HDDVR (free), I paid for shipping, exisiting non-HDDVR moved to master bedroom (free), HD service free for one year ($10 mth after one year), DVR fee waived for two years, and a $10 credit for 12 mths. I was told the DVR would be the HR21 or 23. I'll call back and work on the ST next. Great thread by way.

cancelled. they offered free Superfan but its time to quit cold turkey. The shakes should start with a vengeance Sept 7 around 12:30.
not missing it...much. Sunday when all I had was Pats-Jets I was kind of wishing I had it so I could watch Broncos-Chargers. Luckily it ended in time to catch the end of the "good" game. Better yet, I've gotten 2 rooms painted the last 2 weekends. I might get the whole house painted this year. :goodposting:

i just switched to dtv a couple of weeks ago. i sadly opted against st because the $18 discount on the "plus hd dvr" package was the better deal long term and they told me i couldnt get the $18 discount if i tried the st/premier option, then downgraded. they called today and told me i could upgrade and if i chose to return to my current package, i could keep the current financial arrangement that i have.....good times. now can i borrow $100 for sf or should i call back and push my luck looking for a sf handout?

my cousin had an old dtv dish on his house, I went out a bought another receiver & activated it so he gets free dtv/st. Thats the best deal out there, find a nice friend and an old dish....

I didn't have much luck so I paid the $100. It's totally worth it IMO. I probably wouldn't order ST w/o it. Game Mix channel is awesome & you can watch a 2nd game on your PC as well (if you decide to stick to one game on TV).

I'm very happy!!! I called to cancel and she said "well we're having some deals for people who are wanting to cancel ST" She said let me see what I can do. I already have the highest package they have. My bill is 150.87 every month. She comes back and says here's what we can do. I notice that you have a pretty hefty bill with us. I see you are eligible for superfan for free. I said ok that's cool. Then she says we can give you $20 of your bill for a year. I can also give you Showtime for free for 6 mths at $12 a month. I see you also have the sports subscription. So you gave me another $10 off for 6 mths. She did say Sunday Ticket would be 6 payments for $44.99 but at that point I was like hell yeah!

So it went from this Sunday Ticket and superfan= $368.94

To this: Sunday Ticket: 6 payments at $44.99= $269.94, Superfan= Free, $20 of my bill for 12 mth= $240, $12 off my bill for Showtime for 6 mths= $72, And $10 of my bill for the sports sub for 6 mths.= $60

So I went from paying $368.94 to GETTING $102.06 !!!!

I called and asked for customer retention and said cancel service. When she came on I said I wanted to cancel ST. It was easy and I'm pretty damn happy right now!!
